New Classes revealed for Final Fantasy Tactics A2

Odd that I haven't seen any news on FFTA2 here. Was doing a bit of research on my favorite topic (I love Job Classes, I believe they are the best way of playing an RPG, though that's my sole opinion), and looked for the class system of TA2.

To my surprise, there are new classes underway. There are also two new races (Seeq, from FFXII, and Glia, a kind of half-dragon female clan), and each will have their own set of classes. The classes that were originally on the game will remain, which is a mixed blessing: there is not much change, Vieras still get Assassin, Bangaas retain their awesome Templar class, and Humes retain their versatility. It seems, however, that the abilities have now expanded, and the old classes have new skills.

New classes revealed:
Humes:
-Yojimbo: whut?? They revived the Samurai from other FF games? Sweet!!! Not much info on the skills, but probably, as a good rule of thumb, will have Coin Toss as a skill. (Fighter skill x3)
(UPDATE: They seem to use techniques instead of skills. One deals damage and inflicts berserk)
-Devout: pretty unknown. Must be a reference to the FFIII Devout class. (White Mage x 3/4)
(UPDATE: Holy doggonit!!!! They use darned White and Black Magic, and have a skill to teleport and cast a spell right in front of the enemy!!! And it uses magic from the 2nd level - A magic - plus Esuna and Raise. Sweet!!!)

Bangaa:
Master Monk: eh, name is unoriginal. Not much info on the skills, but probably will take whatever the White Monk class left. (Warrior skill x2, White Monk skill x2)
(UPDATE: Master Monks actually have newer moves, like Armor Break, Holy Blow, and Cleanse. Oh, and they use Bo Staffs)
Cannoneer: straight from FFV, Bangaas now get heavy firepower skills. Uses cannons for long range combat (Dragoon skill x 2)
Trickster: hmm, looks like Bangaas will now have a Thief-like class. Maybe something akin like a Gambler, but as far as it is seen (pictures are small, but almost to the side of the list), it seems to use a bit of magic. (Master Monk skill x 2)

Nu Mou:
Arcane Mage: what? Wasn't Black Magic arcane magic? It seems that Nu Mou will have exclusivity in the Arcane Magicks from FFXII, by way of this job class. (Time Mage skill x 2)
(UPDATE: Drain, Aspir, Death and Graviga? Hmm, that plus high MP must mean something. Besides having repeated uses of magic, but Viera had the same problem with White Mage/Red Mage)
Scholar: well, probably a take on the FFIII class, using magic but specializing in scanning the properties and abilities of your enemies. (Sage skill x 1, Time Mage skill x 1)

Viera:
Magic Fencer: a fencer...that uses magic? Probably they'll use Black Magic, or will be the option to the Bangaa's Gladiator class. Oddly enough, Dycedarg from the original FFT was called in his original PSX English description a "magic fencer", yet his original class was a "Rune Knight" (Lune Knight for all of those who love the old translation). Perhaps the FFTA2 take on the Runeknight? (Red Mage skill x 2)
(UPDATE: The original class seems to be called "Rune Fencer". More suspicious now...)
(UPDATE X 2: Eh...seems that Magic Fencer is a take on Beowulf from FFT, using status ailment skills)
Green Mage: As the Nu Mou take the Arcane Magicks from FFXII, Vieras take the Green Magicks from FFXII. And so, all FFXII magicks are completely covered: White (Humes, Viera and Nu Mou), Black (Hume, Moogle and Nu Mou), Green (Viera), Time (Moogle and Nu Mou), Arcane (Nu Mou) (White Mage skill x 1)
(UPDATE: Protect, Shell, Sleep, Silence...well, you probably expect which spells will be there. Also, Drain and Oil. Yep, for the first time, there will be an official Oil spell)

Moogle:
Chocobo Knight: aww, how cute!!! Moogles are now the de-facto Chocobo riders!!! Seems to be a homage from FFX, and probably the answer to all of those rabid FFXI fans who wanted Chocobo Knights as a new class for an expansion. (Animist skill x 2)
(QUICK UPDATE: Choco Ball and Choco Meteor? Heck yeah!!!!)
(UPDATE 2.0: Think of Chocobo Knights as Onion Knights: use of many weapons, armor, and mounted, but with no skills. Unless you find a Chocobo, in which case you use it's abilities. Depends on color, apparently)
Magic Gunner: uh-huh...the original Gunner had spells cast via special bullets. It seems that the new game will divide the old classes' skills further, or is the Gun Mage from FFX-2. (Gadgeteer skill x 2, Gunner skill x 2)
(UPDATE: This class is known in the game as "Rune Gunner". Perhaps the Magic Gunner is a long-range Runeknight?)
(UPDATE 2.0: They look like those Royal Guards from England...anyways, they seem to use a Heal shot from afar, and also have some offensive skills)

Seeq:
Bastard/Berzerker: a new class that seems to be the default for Seeq. Uses the new Bastard Sword, and has skills like the FFT knight (using Break Item skills) (Default class)
Ranger: somebody has seen a bit of Ragnarok Online here...Rangers are so far trap-setters, using skills to immobilize or damage opponents via traps. (Default class)
(UPDATE: Rangers look like cowboys!!! Yeehaw!!! They get ability to evade traps and improve medicine)
Lanista/Lanistar: a gladiator trainer...hmmm... Uses a push-back skill and a skill that sacrifices HP for an increase in Crit chance. (Bastard/Berzerker skill x 1)
(UPDATE: Whut!?!? These guys...apparently stole some tricks from Dark Knight, since they stole the Darkside/Souleater ability, and also have skills to increase defense and a vicious push-back/armor breaking move)
Viking: (UPDATE) Bastard apparently is the Berserker class. So, this class is truly a mystery, as it seems...(Ranger skill x 1)
(UPDATE 1.5: What the heck!?!?!?! They use axes, are big and strong...and use Thunder Magic, all the way up to Thundaga? Go for weird as heck class...)

Gria:
Bastard: uh? Seems that another default class will be shared... This one, however, will have difference in skills a la Soldier/Warrior. Seems that the only revealed skill is a Power Boost ability (Accumulate? Hmmm...) (Hunter skill x 1)
(UPDATE: Hmm, a warrior a la Hume Fighter. Uses a skill that literally exhausts you to sleep, doing a strong attack, and a move which changes damage according to...positioning? The class skills are grouped under the "Wild" name. Funky...)
Hunter: another shared skill, this time making one of the Hume's unique classes a bit less unique. They now have an Arrow Shower-esque ability, raining death upon others. (Default class)
Raptor: quite frankly, I have no idea of what a "Raptor" class may be. And I have seen odd and senseless classes in my life (Factotum? Incarnate? D&D has its share of odd classes, let this not become an epidemic...) It seems the funky name is a way to add odd skills like damaging Mind and Power of enemies, and a Shield Bash skill that does push-back. Probably means an armored warrior, or the class that'll teach Equip Shield to the Gria race. (Hunter skill x 1)
(UPDATE: In later sites that I checked, it seems that this is the Gria armored class.)
Geomancer: yep, you heard right. Geomancer, arguably the most useless class in FF history (Mog and the FFT geomancer were quite nice, but all geomancers suffer from impredictability taken to the extremes, and the skills had the dominant element of the place, which monsters also have. Uggh) Hopefully they'll fix the Geomancer now, and give it a better system to use... (Hunter skill x 1)

So far, only these jobs have been revealed so far. Not much in the new job business, although there are quite some odd classes now.

One final point: there seems now to be male and female generic Humes. Also, there seems to be more races, but only 7 are playable.

Check here for a list

Old Job Class UPDATE: seems that indeed old classes are getting new skills. Paladins get a new skill that instantly eliminates undead, and also copied Warcry from it's buddy the Templar. Also, the Hume Hunter and the Gria Hunter are the same class.
