But, yes. I am a geek. I own an original secret of mana cartridge and will be buying a Wii when that game ports to it. I collect comics. spider man, xmen, and love the 30 days of night series and anything made by ben templesmith. Final Fantasy 7 is my favorite final fantasy. Due to sephiroth having a similar personality of vegeta from dragon ball z. I'd rather spend the weekend playing a good rpg, reading a comic, or playing a good FPS or MMO over going to the bar and trying to get laid.

Yea I know what you mean. People always tell me if I want to go to a party with them and I tell them no because Im playing Final Fantasy or reading my Game Informer. So i guess that makes me a geek, but its not as bad as people think it is and I sure dont look like a typical geek either.

Well, for me i'm not sure but I tink I am since I am a big fan of anime and fantasy with a ultimate favorite of Final Fantasy especially 10 since I pratically got a whole file of pictures on it plus some short vidoes and that I may go a little cuckoo sometimes [lol] [Its on what i think, keep it to yourself if i'm weirder than that]

I don't consider myself as a geek as in the stereotypical geek you see on television and such. Geek as in the glasses, intelligence and pimples all over the face lol. People may have thought I was one when I was going to high school but they can think what they like. I am definitely a computer geek though, I guess those two are similar but I don't class myself as intelligent! I am always on the computer and I pretty much hate being away from it. I have been like this for quite a few years now lol. I suppose I am a gaming geek too since I love Final Fantasy and a few other games.

So yes, I am a geek but not one of those stereotypical ones you see on television shows.

This thread's pretty interesting. There's no way in hell I would turn down a party so I could play FF. I'd go to that party and have an awesome time. I have the games on the shelves. I could always play it the next day or something. Its not like its going to walk away. But that's just me.

Do I consider myself a geek? Sorta, in a way I guess. More so like a gaming geek like Crazy Chocobo mentioned. I love playing video games, I do have Game Informer magazings in my room, and yeah. That's pretty much it.

I'd call myself a non geek with geekish tendencies.
I like anime and RPGs, but if they were the be all and end all I'd probably go totally insane. And I don't get overly good marks at anything really, I tend to be pretty much average. And I've noticed now that I'm lucky to play games for a couple hours a week. I used to play a whole lot more, but not now.

But then again I don't really fit into any generalised category. I'm just me, and that's the way I like it.

I laugh at jokes about computer prompts, I laugh at Dungeons and Dragons' jokes.

I use a computer most of the time, and enjoy making charts and lists.

I even take lame geek tests to see just how geek I am... I know only one person that got a higher score than me. Sad, really...

Wow, the poll is showing a lot of honesty. Geek. Not really the sensitive type, myself. But I do obsess over little things. I know a few things but I know them really really really well. I'm a scientist, so I guess you could swing off and call me a geek on general principle.

I'm really quiet in person and very daydreamy.

I wear make-up and dress in black and live in Gotham city...lol, nvrmind.

But geek, yea maybe.

If I am a geek, i'm not your average geek.
I like going out, going shopping for clothes, dressing up.
But on the other hand I spend a lot of money on anime and manga, as well as video games. I work at a game store. I listen to Jpop almost exclusively. I am always on my computer.

I don't get great marks and i'm not an over achiever. I just like.. uhm geeky things I guess.

Ever since I was eleven I've been called "goth" by most classmates and people that see me around home/shopping centres and stuff. Even my grandfather has taken to calling me Morticia ><.But I definitely still get the occasional geek/nerd comment. These mostly come from people that have observed me in the school environment.

A likely cause of that is probably the amount that I read. I do read alot. Everyday. Usually I've read a portion of a book atleast every three hours or so. I'm somewhat addicted.

And my marks. My maths marks are horrid, though. But my Indonesian and English marks are amazing. Not intending to brag. I pick up other languages easily.

With English.. That's probably what I'm known for a nerd/geek as the most. I love English. Grammar, Spelling... Everything. I'm contsantly correcting people's mistakes everywhere, simply because I find it terribly annoying to see something written/hear something said so wrong.

And in Medievil studies.. I have a fascination with medievil times. Ranging from the Viking era to more "Knights and Castles" type stuff. And probably SOSE in general.. I also have a major fascination with Victorian times. So when we come to these units I almost always already know alot of the answers.

I don't know... Maybe it's a matter of perspective. Of course, my love of gaming which everybody knows about adds into it, too. It really all depends on what other people view as a geek/nerd.

im pretty clever but im no geek i will never turn down a party i love sports i mean im captain of a small football team i play with yeah like my computer games but if its nice or not just raining i will play football

After Passing Year 11 I repeated just so I could give Tertiary entrance a try and do classes I found interesting like politics, biology and history. I like watching a variety of anime. I DM D&D games nearly every weekend and some time I write fanfiction just for the fun of it. By fanfiction I mean in addition to stories I also write made up character classes for D&D or Diablo II and playable characters for games like super smash bros and Whenever I go on the internet I become addicted to it and have to suffer withdrawal symptoms to get away. I also have promised myself that I would rather walk around naked then were any brands of clothing owned by rappers like Eminem, Dada, Wutang or any of that other crap and some of my favourite music is video game soundtrack remixes. So yeah, beat that!
