War has changed, it just isn’t the same anymore
It’s just hard to keep track of what they’re fighting for
People runnin’ around, comin’ and goin’
Things happening behind your back without you knowing

War is hell, it shouldn’t be treated like a game
When there’s so much damage and suffering, who do we blame?
War has changed, it’ll never be the same
Once great soldiers are now pathetically tame

Maybe it’s better this way, let the fools fight
Let the vets watch ‘em slaughter each other from great height
Our war is over, it’s time to move on
Our principles and even all our wisdom seems to be gone

War has changed, our battles have been fought
It’s time to let go of our struggles and forget what we’ve taught
But somehow I wish things could be different
It’s like these soldiers are my children and I’m the bad parent

There’s nothing we can do, the world is just this cold
We have to resign right now, while we’re not even that old
In this brutal war, hopefully these kids will learn
I guess we all get wiser one day, each at their own turn
Let’s just sit tight, and hope this war will cease
And while this war wages, let’s bring in love and cherish peace…
