Finally someone with an ounce of sense. I for on prefer the turkey.

It tastes better with Stuffing, and with either gravy or barbecue sauce on it.

The turkey sports larger drumsticks, so I don't have to eat as many.

Normally, I would go with chicken, but I chose that it depends on the circumstances. Normally, turkey's got nothin' on chicken. Come on -- chicken is moister, fattier, more tasteful, and cheaper. However ... Turkey would have a huge market from Thanksgiving alone. And I'll admit, it's awesome to have a great turkey dinner, with sliced turkey piled with stuffing or mashed potatos and smothered in gravy, and still be able to have the same thing the next day, and the next day, and then move to turkey sandwiches, then barbeque turkey, until you've eaten for a week off the same bird. So under most circumstances, chicken would be the clear winner ... but turkey trumps all when it gets close to Thanksgiving.

Another way to help the problem of turkey being naturally dry is to deep-fat-fry it. Just drop the entire bird (or at least the breast) into a bigass pot of boiling oil. Mmmmm...

I agree with you here.

Pork is vile. I can't stand ham, hotdogs, bacon...

The only time I will willingly eat pig if from a little shop in town that makes really hot sausage rolls... there's more pastry than meat, so it's not really an issue for me.

What I hated, is that pigs have one stomach, and they eat their own feces. Many of them, for my country, anyway, have a lot of digestion issues with means that when they die, the feces isn't properly pumped out of the animal.

Sure, they clean the bits of carcass, etc, but accoridng to tests, there's always still some faint trace.
I personally find that ABSOLUTELY disgusting, and so forth do not eat pig, I can't stand the taste or anything.

Only in sausage rolls, and I only get those like, three - four times a year.

Anyway, back on topic, I do prefer chicken, but I chose the "both under circumstances" because turkeys' taste can be improved with sauces and inner basting. Yummers.

I only eat chicken in the form of either a nugget or a strip. Gotta have either gravy (for the strips) or barbecue sauce (for the nuggets).

Tukey, however, is way more healthier than chicken. I eat turkey anytime I have a choice. Turkey Pot Pie>Chicken Pot Pie anyday.

Plus, chickens scratch around and peck at their own poo.

Did a vegetarian dump you or something? I've seen rednecks act less personally offended that someone answered a question about meat by saying they don't eat it. Give it a rest. (apparently this smile makes it seem like I'm not trying to start an argument)

You eat the beaks or the stomachs? Maybe in a hot dog, but that has nothing to do with chicken.

I try not to eat vegetables, i don't like the way their grown. I mean they stuck in the soil and left there for many moons at a time! Disgraceful

If both meats were plain i'd have to pick chicken, but seasoned properly turkey definatly wins. Always love christmas dinner, plates full of meat makes me a happy man . I don't really eat turkey too much, i guess its more expensive than chicken, but we normally have chicken once a week for sundays dinner.. a meal i always look forwards to

If provided i shall definatly partake in some livery goodness . I eat plain meat all the time >.>, when i can't be bothered going out to get something to put on it. I don't really count adding salt to something as unplainifying it

Man... sucks for you guys that get nothing but dry turkey. If you cook it properly, it's plenty moist.

I like both, depending on the occasion. Chicken is cheaper and easier to make, so I eat it more often.

But if someone tried to substitute chicken for my turkey dinner, I would throw a fit. And if we're talking deli meat, I would much prefer turkey.

Have any of you heard of a beer-butt-turkey? It's this thing they do in the South... you need a smoker and a bottle of beer. And a turkey. You drink (or get rid of) a bit of the beer, and then... well, you stick it up the turkey's butt while you smoke it. It gets the meat really moist, and it's pretty delicious, even if it is a little crude.

And I like hot dogs. I find them delicious.

Chicken, I guess.

You can do alot with it. Though, I guess you can do alot with turkey.
But all I've ever had of turkey was turkey n dressin at thanksgiving.

But, it all depends on how it's cooked, seasonings, sauces, etc.

Hello and hurrah for Beer-butt turkey! It's certainly not dry and it doesn't hurt to add spices to the beer so that it evenly distributes into the turkey! Just like a rub or something.

I must concede one thing that Chicken has over Turkey. And it IS a BIG thing!! Chez reminded me about it when she was talking to Djinn.

Chicken livers breaded in flour and egg with garlic salt and pepper. Skillet butter-sauteed green peppers, onions and mushrooms. That is the single greatest culinary concoction to include chicken parts.

Taste-wise, I, for one, prefer turkey. That's probably because there is a definite taste to turkey. You Know when you're getting it. With chicken, someone could replace it with chicken-flavored tofu (which some places do, I'm sure) and most people couldn't tell the difference. Besides, there's hardly anything that beats a turkey leg for a dinner at your county fair.

Personality-wise, chickens are much friendlier. I have never once been chased around a yard, hunted down, and ultimately scratched until I was a bloody pulp by any chickens. Ok, so granted, I wasn't forced to cohabitate with any chickens, either, but still...
