Yearly sickness time!

I'm sick!

I think I caught it from college, although my mum had it the other day.

I hate colds and flu! It seems to mostly be flying around Southern England at the moment. Jeez. It's annoying.

Everyones' been getting really sick. I'm just waiting for one of the tutors to be off with it, so that I'll have another excuse to skip another day.

I didn't go to college today, and I probably won't tomorrow. I'll try to make it for Wednesday and Thursday, though.

So, have you had The Yearly Illness yet?

Aye its all the way down here in New Zealand as well, I was feeling real sore yesterday and couldn't get to sleep so a lot of drama happened. Today my throat is real dry and my body aches

If it can manage to be on two opposite sides of the world during the same period I wonder how quickly a deadly flu could pass through out the world.

Well it's Spring here now which is a good thing, all the flu and colds are starting to go away for good for the year. It was pretty bad with the flu over here this year, a lot of people ended up getting it. A few people in my family did as well, I had to be in the same house as my Mum while she had it but I still never caught it. I was so surprised I didn't because I normally catch everything! The only thing I had in winter was a cold and that lasted about four days. I hate colds just as much as the flu, they're not fun to have at all!

Haha, we have been troubled with horse flu instead, a heap of horses have it and it's stopping the racing and everybody is losing money on it.

It doesn't worry me though because I don't gamble or anything.

I rarely get sick. In fact, it's been a while since I had a real flu or infection. I may get a scratchy throat in the spring when allergies crop up, but they're dealt with too easily to really notice. However, when I do get sick, it's intense. In 8th grade, I had a pretty bad whooping cough. And a few years later, I caught a stomach bug that made me throw up twice before it went away. Those are really.... the most recent illnesses I can think of. I may have had a fever at some point. THE POINT IS I don't get sick often enough to have a sick season. It probably doesn't hurt that I live in the south with warm weather and sunshine for most of the year.

I try to take vitamins in the winter because I can't afford to get sick. If you miss more than four classes, you fail the course. So even if I was sick, I might miss a day and then return the next.

Last spring, Daniel got really sick. He had a headache, sore throat, incredibly high fever, and vomiting. I took care of him the entire time, and was pretty concerned about catching whatever he had. I never did, though.

That sounds remarkably similar to what i get 2-3 times a year. Last time i had it was maybe 3 months ago and it was the worst yet. I couldn't eat or drink anything because i'd just vomit it out 5 minutes later, literally. I was throwing up all day up until 6am ish, when i finally got some sleep. The first time i had it was when i was on holiday in Spain, and i had to go to hospital to be put on a drip because of the temperature and the fact that i couldn't take on any water since i'd just throw it up... wasn't my best holiday yet. Happened a year later while i was on holiday again in spain, i guess my body just doesn't like spain XD.

Other than that i don't really get ill, i mean i get sore throats and colds all the time but they pale in comparison to what i normally get (what i said above) so i normally just go about my business like i'm not ill and it goes away

Oh, Andy, it sucked so hard. Yours might be viral, but lucky for Daniel, his was bacterial. He felt kind of bad the first day, and then once night fell, he got bad. I didn't have a thermometer until morning, but I stayed up all night to make sure he didn't get too hot. He has a history with like... emergency room fevers. So I was up giving him Tylenol every four hours. I didn't have any Motrin, but I am SO prepared now. Sooo yeah, even with Tylenol and keeping a cold rag on him at all times (and studying for my final), he still ended up hallucinating.

He didn't vomit until the next day while I was in class. I took him to the doctor, and he threw up there to. And then we went to pick up the prescription at the Target across the street, and he threw up outside. Like... on the sidewalk in front of the store. It was pretty disgusting.

Soooo yeah, being sick is pretty terrible. I'm pretty glad I don't have to suffer through that very often.

What did they prescribe him, just out of interest. Whenever i go to the doctors about it she never gives me anything, just says to stay off heavy food for a few days. Maybe she doesn't give me anything because i keep asking for sedatives or something to knock me out so i don't have to deal with any of it for a few hours.

Stomach bugs are the worst! I had one at the beginning of this year and it was awful. It was strange though because after the first day, I got very bad pains in my chest and my arms were aching like mad as well. It was not fun at all and I couldn't wait to get better again. I didn't throw up very much though but for the first day I felt sick all day long, it's horrible and I don't wish it upon anybody. I just had to take things easy until I got a little better. Those pains were the worst though, I wanted to die.

I haven't been sick that much this year though compared to the past. I'm glad though because being sick is awful, you can't do anything.. all you feel like doing is lying around and sleeping. I would rather be up and about playing games and going out lol.

I hate those illnesses where hallucinations come in. My God. It's like, you're laying there, hot, bothered and choking on your own phelgm and to top it off, you're seeing things that you KNOW are impossible, but yuo're too sick not to believe it.

I hope not too manyothers have had that kind of thing. It's pretty ****ing scary at times.

I'm glad he got better -- you must be a good nurse!

Last year, after Christmas, my mum got really sick. I stayed in silence and pitch blackness with her for hours to make sure she was alright. My dad, at the time, was very moody and drunk all of the time -- I had to switch off lights and noises that he'd switch on just to aggrievate her. She was sick with that for about two months. It was terrible.

It's become quite the epidemic here in Washington also. I have had it once already and I think I've gotten something from somebody again. Maybe it's the just second wind of the sickness though. It seems to be a real pain, some people have been sick here for five to eight days.

Hopefully it goes away soon, can't stand being sick for more then a day... I go crazy.

Hehehe... the one funny thing about it (besides throwing up on Target... that was funny) was his hallucination. He was just seeing fireworks shooting off at him. So I mean... at least it was pretty. Oh lord, and his mom would NOT stop calling me to see if I was taking care of him. And yeah, he got to be a huge baby for a few days. He was soooo loved. I even bought him chocolate pudding and Flinstones vitamins. And I watched a Pokemon movie with him. Good gawd.

Haha... yeah, Daniel wanted Vicodin. Didn't happen. The doctor prescribed amoxicillin for it. Once he started taking it, it cleared up pretty quickly. We were pretty glad it wasn't viral.
