Do you ever feel Guilty if you kill animals or insects?

Yes I'm trying to dominate General Chat with my name, what's it to ya?

So do you?

I once felt guilty about killing this large dangerous looking spider in my room. See I snuck up on it with a can of flyspray and blasted the little dude, because I was worried that it might sneak up on me in my sleep and bite me. I then realised the Irony of what I did and felt quite guilty, for killing the innocent little spider?

So now that you understand the context answer me?

Sometimes I feel guilty because I kill a lot of spiders when they come into my home. I normally just flush them down the toliet now. I haven't let one spider live...maybe a few I think but I think I should stop this habit.

Sometimes, but I think that depends on the creature you kill.

Take grasshoppers, wasps and black widows for example, These creatures are definitely bad and harmful so I don't feel guilty when I kill them and I don't miss an opportunity to do that.

I used to torture and then kill bees, bugs and butterflies but that was when I was about 8 years old, Now, I can't stand watching a child torturing any kind of peaceful bugs!!!

Animals!, Hunting is one of my favorite hobbies, I use my Air Rifle to kill any kind of birds and especially pigeons but I always feel guilty after doing that horrible thing !!

Just in case you don't know, Spiders are one of the most dangerous insects in this world, and I believe that you did the right thing

I always feel guilty, even if I don't actually kill it. I won't let anything be harmed in my presence if I can help it, though sometimes it's been a necessity. The flies at work, for example. The only way to get rid of them is to kill them, but I'm not happy about having to do so.

We once had a snake get into the store. A harmless garter snake disturbed by the construction going on in the plaza. My coworkers wanted to kill it off but luckily they couldn't find it after the initial discovery. I eventually found it when it made it out onto the sales floor. Instead of killing it, I picked it up and carried it outside to let it go, even though it spent the entire trip biting my thumb. By time I released it I had six holes in my hand, but I couldn't blame it - the poor thing was scared out of its mind.

The same goes for spiders. If I see one I'll catch it and let it go outside.

I don't kill anything if I can help it. The only exception to this rule so far are mosquitoes. They carry EEE and West Nile around here.

I won't kill anything that I can't make complete use of, unless it's trying to kill me, in which case it's dead and gone with no remorse.

I'm far from a veggie -- I eat meats regularly, and I know I can't always guarantee that it comes from a place where the animal was used to its fullest. When I do go hunting though, we make as much use of the animals as possible.

As such, I don't ever kill snakes or spiders (even the ones I know could kill me... unless they're ON me, then it's different) if I can avoid it. When I'm walking around outside, I'm always staring at the ground, trying to avoid the geckos or field mice or rabbits that can get underfoot. No one else seems to care where they step.

If I see a dead animal in the road, it gets me all kinds of torn up.

I once almost hit a kid because I was trying to avoid a squirrel.

I refuse to touch my tire on dead animals. That should tell you something. I try to live my life so that I don't kill a single animal. Even when I was bit by the Black Widow, I didn't kill it. I let it crawl off. Though my parents later found it and killed it.

My mother used to have me kill every spider that got into our house, which I did under great protest.

I have hit an Oppossum with my car one night, which actually made me visibly upset. I don't like killing something that can't understand why it died. That's my ethos on killing. A weak human ethos that's limiting and rather dangerous. But I break it on occasions. If a threat is present or if I'm commanded to kill.

I did kill a timber wolf once, which was possibly very illegal. Waited up on the roof top with an assortment of guns and ammo and shot it dead. Me and my sister had a burial for it and made it a makeshift gravesite. It ate and tore up our terrier and wouldn't leave my parent's ranch. It kept hanging around and it was just too dangerous and skinny.

Summation:

"I Don't Like To Kill Animals"

It makes you feel sick in the pit of your being, It makes you feel guilty and horribly depressed and tragic.

I only kill mosquito's and wasps really...I friggin hate those. wasps cause of some child trauma, blargh.
Besides that I don't kill animals..spiders I usually just let them be, even in my room, unless they're the big ones, then I put them outside.
I really despise people that hunt.

Peace out

The guilt I feel for killing a creature depends on the way the creature died. There are some animals that I absolutely will not kill.

Black Widow spiders-I know these spiders are just as much afraid of humans as they we are of them. I catch them and let them go in a place full of insects.

Scorpions- Same as black widows.

Wascally wabbits- Why would anybody want to kill a rabbit?

I sometimes feel bad for dogs and cats when I see them get killed. However there are some dogs and cats that hang around my house getting into shit. I actually try to hunt these animals down. But for the most part, if it's an animal I've never seen before then I usually try to avoid it.

Most insects-Sometimes I go out of my way to get rid of these little buggers. Take wasps and hornets for example, these guys attack without cause, so I do too. If I see one I usually chase it down. 5 or more and I try to stay back and pick'em out. If it's a nest of them then I spray it with Raid and run like hell.

I find it amusing how many people say they'd never kill animals that aren't insects and then buy a ham sandwhich. Turning a blind eye doesn't make something false.

I don't feel guilty killing insects. I've hated them since I was little. I don't eat meat so there isn't anything else I can think of that I kill. Maybe through some extremely indirect manner by buying something from someplace that kills them in an unrelated way. Who knows? Oh, I guess I use glue. And there's tons of microscopic organisms that I'm sure I kill and don't care. Germs can suck it.

I feel horrible killing insects...

Even if I antsand an anthill I feel guilty for hours after XD. I actually keep spiders, so I really don't kill them at all.

One exception was about a week ago, but that was pretty much a mercy kill. It had been seemingly attacked by a human very recently and the buggered-up human was too lazy to follow it and finish the job. The poor thing had only three legs, one of which was crushed and unworking, and it also had some brain damage, seeing that it could only move in the form of a circle.

So I squashed that poor thing. Beautiful it was, too. But it wasn't going to live long. And it looked very much so like it was in pain, too. I put it out of it's misery.

Okay. I don't feel guilty killing flies.. But they're awful >.>

I would like to cry the seperation between eating a dead animal and being the cause of it's death. Yes, you see, because holding me responsible for eating a dead animal is purely retarded. I did not kill it. And it doesn't make someone who refuses to eat it any better than me. Those are just your particular set of morals and comparing us with your set of morals is inappropriate. To me., the simplest solution is the following:

It is already dead. I am hungry. I shall eat it and not let it just rot.

Further more, the exclusion of meat can have serious repercussion for one's health if proper substitutes aren't made. We were given cuspids for a reason.

If you try to reason that eating meat encourages the further killing of animals and by that rationale we ARE killing them, then I suggest you remember the nature of humans. They shall always slaughter a pig for bacon, a cow for tongue and beef, a chicken for drumsticks and livers and so on, ad nauseum.

As for myself, I'm a sucker for beef tongue, chicken livers and sweetbreads.
