And I answered by saying no there isn't a way for them to fix it and saying that actually waiting for it to load will solve your problem.

It's not my problem you decided to have a hissy fit.

Did you not read my post? Or are you just blind? Perhaps too focused on trolling this forum to pay attention? Cause sitting from here it is a combination of both... or perhaps you are just one of those pretentious idiots who seem to think you know it all and everybody around you has no idea what they are talking about.

I know you have to wait for it to load, I was asking them (not you) if there was a way to change it whether it be a forum hack or a suggestion on how to stop FireFox from doing that, if you can not understand that then I suggest you get mental help because from here you look blind as a bat and dumb as a dung beetle.

In point: Go away.

I couldn't give a toss who you were asking, but since you can't seem to read, I'll say it again.

I answered by saying no there isn't a way for them to fix it and saying that actually waiting for it to load will solve your problem.

And then you proceeded to bitch and whine and cry about "oh I wasn't asking you stop patronising me ".

Quit being a baby, accept people's answers and learn some patience.

...Palazzo's right, Winter. He may have spoken out of turn for the staff, but believe me that vivi is right when he said that it's your connection. >_>
I'm at 50 posts per page and they all load in less than 10 seconds.

If you really want to, you could disable signatures and avatars in your profile settings, or decrease the posts per page that you currently have, but I'm not sure if you want to do that or not.

But yes, as Palazzo said, there's really honestly no way for Fuzz/Cain/Lococolt to fix it.

The only thing you can really do, is disable images being shown from signatures and avatars, which would make the loading times faster.

And I don't think it's a very good idea to keep spamming this thread up with silly arguments. Take it to PM or something, please.
And I don't mean to be taking any sides here, which I'm really not, I just don't want the thread to be spammed up any further with the argument.

Edit: And Fuzz just confirmed that there is indeed no way to fix it. He hasn't seen anything like it. o_O
He says he'll keep his eyes open, but he doesn't see any way around it.

If it does it every time you load a thread, then there's a problem with your browser's cache as it isn't storing the images. You could fiddle with the browser settings, disable images like Toph said or try a new browser.

Fasterfox is another idea, it's an extension for Firefox that tweaks your network settings in FF to make pages load faster.

This arguement has really gotten out of hand. I don't want to see any more bitching on this subject unless Winter himself has questions pertaining to his original question, which has pretty much already been answered.

And Vivi, I'm dishing out a warning for you for flaming people via reputation. Just because most everyone can't see it, doesn't make it any less valid or against the rules.

Can't you wait until my other two warnings expires?

I totally agree with you, I am using FasterFox before a long time and its really good.

Anyway, FireTune is another idea too which optimize your browsing experience with Mozilla Firefox.

Thats it !

No the thing is I wanted Palazzo to stop responding to my posts for obvious reason's yet he has it still stuck in the head... the fact of the matter is he has been flame baiting three times now and has refused to leave me alone which is pretty much trolling.

Is that right?

Anyway I apologize if I have annoyed anybody but after been here for over a year it's been a minor annoyance which I was hoping for some help with BESIDES what I already knew. My connection is ok enough I just have a habit of scrolling when it loads if it goes past what I am looking for... also plus some people have ridiculously large signature's.

Thanks anyway...

Aye, I know some people have large signatures. I've seen a few myself that I should bring to staff's attention. Or at least PM the person and let them know.
And yes, that is right. =P

And hey, I have that habit too.

vBulletin sets focus to the first post that was created after the last time you logged in, the last time you looked at the topic, or a combination of the two, depending on the circumstances. If you edit a post or create a post, it focuses on that post. If you look at the url, you can look at the querystring to see exactly what post it is going to focus on, such as the following, which will focus on my post:
Code:
http://www.thefinalfantasy.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1072703#post1072703
The point in the code in which it is set to focus to a given post is towards the end of the Page_Load cycle, if not the very last thing, that way the page is done being 'jarred around' by images loading and will be effectively centered on the correct post.

Of course, what it believes is the correct post may not necessarily be what you consider the correct post, unfortunately. The Page_Load is a server-side event/function. All it knows is the data it was given before the page was loaded (ie: the last postback). It is completely oblivious to what you are doing.

With that in mind, the only way to adjust the page focus after it has already been loaded is with client-side code... which would require you to 'do something' for it to activate. Problem two is that no client-side code can even run until the page is completely loaded, at which point the server-side code has already moved the page to wherever it thinks you wanted it.

So in the end, the only way for admins to fix that problem would be to create another: Completely disable the focus feature as it is now. I doubt they would do that, because its quite useful. Majority wins... It sucks, but hey... the web isn't perfect.
