Of course it's your call on the matter, but I think the only reason it failed was because the way it was tried was both premature, buggy, and overall unfinished. If we had a more efficient try at it, planning everything out before hand rather than kind of pre-releasing without fine-tuning, it could surely be better than having nothing to use the credits for at all.

Excuse the double post, but I'm having problems using the [ img ] tags since the new upgrade was introduced. I realised eventually that it has been completely disabled and just wanted to know what the appropriate alternative to directly showing images in a post now would be?

It was never enabled. Ever. Even before the upgrade. Just link it.

Seriously, I have a suggestion/question about images on this forum. There is a reason why we can't post them, may I ask what reason?

That aside, upgrades seems great, I had no problems at all after the forum got back up.

Two reasons:

Bandwidth, and the load times for our dial-up users (yes, believe it or not, the dark ages still exist and a lot of people aren't on broadband yet).

Spam bots and porn mongers. That one speaks for itself.

I don't know if this counts as anything, but I've been getting lot of random pop up porn sites that weren't there before. I'm starting to to get freaked, and since TFF changed to the new server, the sie keeps shutting down at random times because I wouldn't load up Microsoof Office or something (maybe that's the reason?).

Think you could help me out or explain how I could fix it? I don't want my parents banning me from the net because of random porno pop ups...

Get Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D.

Yeah.. it's on your end, yo. Because I don't get anything of the sort. ^_^
Oh, and use Firefox if you don't already.

Actually a few people figured away to get around the image problem however they were already attached.

Anyway I have an idea which I saw in a forum and may actually be quite useful: these is this other forum I regulate and they have a feature which allows you to "Thank" people for their post, basically its just a simple way of saying you agree with the post without having to write a quick "I agree" spammy post... here is a link if you want it:

And yeah, I've had problems with different sites and pop-ups when using IE. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD (or whatever you believe in..) DONT USE INTERGAY EXPLORER!!!!

Yeah the other thing with images is we just had problems with a lot of members "spamming" large images. I'm sure a lot of us would use images just fine, but there's always that younger spammy crowd.

Also there was that mariobros incident which I believe was THE cause for turning off the imagecode.

Yeah some people has to ruin it for everybody else, seen that before both off and online... As I said I figured it would be something along those roads.

But here's another idea, what about increasing the allowed attachment file size but still limiting it to say 1600x1200 pixels?
170Kb isn't very much at all so I have to scale down the images everytime, which of course, I am too lazy to do

EDIT: Say, did anything happen to the "post reply" buttons, or is it my browser? I'm attaching a screeny so you can see what I mean. If you have no clue, it's likely Firefox because it's been totally weird since yesterday.
