Something about this isn't working properly yet. I thought I'd go ahead and note this before someone else points it out for me. ^_^;;

It SHOULD give you a little "quote" button on all of the posts when you're in the advanced reply screen. I'm not seeing those buttons, sooo... yeah.

I'll keep digging around and see what's up.

A quick note not worthy of a major update:
Join Date is now one of the fields in the Member List.

Also I dunno if this was mentioned yet but the vPlaza menu is not there ...

One other thing which I am not sure about was I just got a PM from Aerif about some kind of disqualification in a tournament? I haven't used the Arcade since it first was added and even then it was only once or twice.

EDIT: Also the gifts, not that it matters but figured I'd point it out.

It's mentioned in the forum-wide announcement.

The old vbPlaza was incompatible with the latest release of vBulletin, so we had to scrap it. Gifts, ribbons, and all other purchasable items (username colors, title stuff, etc.) are all gone. We're looking into new alternatives for the forums.

The Vplaza is gone as Fuzz previously stated before the upgrade. He's hoping to put something else much better in called the iStore.

Upgrades are looking good, but I'm curious about the new "Infractions", how do those work?

I was looking at some of the options for Credits. The new system added in that 1000 Credit bonus for referrals, so I changed it back to 0 since we had problems with that. Also there was a 5% "Tax" for donations. Since I know members like to donate money to people and didn't have to worry about an extra tax, I disabled that too.

I've seen it on plenty of other vB forums, so I know it works. Just gotta figure out where the hiccup in our coding is, that's all.

I'm still working on tweaking a couple of things.
Expect another update before I go to bed (unless I pass out first).

Umm.... I don't mean to be a hassle, but I just thought I'd mention this.

It's possibly something on my end, but I seem to have become unable to upload new avatars, either by URL or directly from my computer. I tried this with several that definitely met the size and type standards.

Any clue what's going on there?

Thanks for bringing that up... it reminded me that I didn't give the upload folder proper permissions.

It should work now. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for reporting the bug. I suspect there will be quite a few as we let the forums breath on the new server.

Indeed, the feature is most handy and convenient. Makes posting much faster for quote-junkies like myself. Loco's forum uses the feature and I kind of wondered why it wasn't added here sooner. Hope the fix is easy, it'll be helpful for sure.

We should add an RP feature of some kind to the site. Then we could make profit of the damn credits. They are in essence useless right now (and weren't much better when the vB plaza still existed). I think something like giving everyone a character that they can modify with armor, weapons, accessories, etc. Weapons and the like that possess stronger attributes and statistics will be considered in a mathematic system to determine the created characters overall strength. Similarly, adding some kind of experience system would enhance the system.

I've seen something to this affect used before on a forum, so it should be possible. I could ellaborate further with more ideas if interest to add such a system exists, and would gladly work in accordance with you guys to make it work. I think this could boost interest for the forums, essentially boosting forum activity, something that is a most desired effect. Though this may not be ready for a technical battle system yet, we could possibly think up ways to implement such a system later on once the main foundation of the RP system are in place. This should be most enticing to most here since most if not all play RPGs, and this would at least give us something worthwhile to spend our cash on.

That's been suggested many, many times before and I'm afraid it isn't going to happen... If an 'RP' system is implemented it takes up room and makes us more similar to what we fear to become. It will also lead to a horde of newbies who think that we're Gaia Online...

I don't really feel that I have any authority to say so, but I don't think that's ever going to happen based on past conversations...
