As for your post, Xiem, One thing I personally noticed was that you gave a lot of detail about your opponent and surroundings, and considerably less description about your own fighter. You know your fighter best, so don't be shy about introducing them fully

I don't know if anyone's interested in the idea but I've been messing around a bit and expanded on the battlefield I set for Howl's training. If anyone would like to use the setting for a battle feel free. Here is the extended profile for it:

Battlefields:

The Ruined Coliseum, Cruentus

Original Parameters: 640 ft length, 530 ft width, outer wall 165 ft height
Arena Dimensions: 290 ft length by 180 ft width, perimeter wall 15 ft height

Cruentus was built of stone, held together with metal clamps instead of mortar, which did not exist at the time of construction. The massive tectonic shift that caused the surrounding city to fall approximately 40 feet also caused most of the damage to the coliseum. Nearly a quarter of the outer wall fell during the disaster and lies scattered at the base of what is now a jagged cliff.

The stadium bleachers, wood supported by stone columns, were completely destroyed and long since decayed. Many of the columns themselves are broken, and few have fallen completely, destroying parts of the arena wall and creating a haphazard landscape of stone fragments. Some of these pieces are so large they dug huge craters in the earth where they fell. The smaller stones are constantly shifting with tectonic activity, making a dangerous field where one bad step could result in a hard fall.

The arena used to be famous for its seasonal battlefields, but now nothing grows within the dead walls, leaving only hard earth with a loose top layer of stone dust that stirs with the slightest disturbance.

Hazards:

The area is situated close to a fault line and there has been a lot of recent activity. Tremors are constant and there is a good chance that one massive quake could bring the rest of Cruentus crashing down for good.

The ruins are dangerous enough during the day, but at night it's even worse. The spirits of the dead, many killed in the disaster and now bound to the site of their demise, rise at dusk. They envy the living and hatred drives their madness. They will swarm any living being that ventures within and will not relent until the first light of dawn.

I saw a conversation regarding this and decided I will put an edit rule up, maybe 15 minutes. I'll enforce this rule only for higher phases/ grades though like from Officers grade A upwards, due to this it will be brought into effect after the first trial fights are over. As for Reds question that is incorrect, users that lose battles are simply given a lower rank, this can be made higfher with more won battles and/ tournaments (thats just to add to what Toph said).

LocoColt04, first off, welcome to you and the others that accepted including Prodigal Madness, Jecht, Howl and Lord Storm Bryce. Secondly, I'll explain why there is so much clutter as it is my mess/ responsability to explain, no-one elses. The reason for so much confusion and such a high amount of posts in a short period is due to the first battles, I am currently just trying to get people (especially newcomers) into the flow and so convering on random topics such as how to do things is essential I feel at this point and I assure you that it will settle, eventually =].

Once again, I came here first and apologise for my absence earlier in the day, tahnk you Aerif for starting the battle and I'll go read and edit with my thoughs in a minute.

Firstly, I ask that in light of our new members the training battle between DH and Howl cease as I have them opponents ready in waiting, sorry for any inconvenience.
Secondly, I am very proud of Red and Musicmuse; you're posts show promise as first timers so I give you your due congratulations. The other fights seem to be going swimmingly also except for Itach and Slims which I am sure will pick up in time.
Finally, the new match-ups are as follows:

LocoColt04 Vs DragonHeart (Judge: Aerif and Toph- Toph will write the intro, I will be the layby)
Lord Storm Bryce Vs Prodigal Madness (Judge: Toph)
Jecht Vs Howl Furore (Judge: Alexander)

My reasons for cancelling the training and commencing the trials is 2 two reasons to move teh club along and teh fact that first battles will provide training against adequate and equal foes.

Any problems/ questions regarding this can be sent via PM to help with the clogging.

Yes, you will require a character for your upcoming battle with Howl, im sure you won't have too much trouble as you have created characters in RP and as DH said making a character here isn't all that different.

EDIT: Im going blind in my age lol, forgive me DH for not mentioning your arena; I think it is very good indeed and I will ask you to store it somewhere for the tournament I will be asking yourself and Aerif to help me to create ready for after the trials. Keep you all busy whilst I prepare otehr battles/ challenges... =].

Also I'd like to point out that we now have 15 members and 19 grades/ ranks, this means that we have a rank that is unique to every player 4 more RPB/RPers and BAM we have all our grades given out uniquely to each RP/RPBer, wouldn't that be cool?

I think the thing that interests me most is reading my own and DragonHeart's character's abilities. Some clash a little leading to a possibly quite interesting tale of battle. Like Taima's thunder magic as an example and Howl's ability to consume it though becoming intoxicated in the process and even more manic.

It's not included well in his character stats, I only wrote 'Howl is able to absorb flung energy, but it damages his psyche and can make him intoxicated if he does it too often.', but I figured higher energy input would mean more of an effect on him, and I know the energy input from higher voltage electricity such as lightning is a good deal higher than heat output energy from things such as fire. And yes, though I also forgot to mention it, Howl does have his limits to what he can suck up...

People can be in multiple RPBs at once you know. =P I mean, I'm in two of them. XD

I will abide by Alexander's decision either way, personally I think it's fine to keep the training going and still have trials. If it has to do with using the same character for more than one battle that's not a problem for me; there's only one character I'd use against someone like Loco, and it's certainly not Taima. *grins*

As for the arena, it is stored, right here in this thread. But yes, I do keep copies of everything on my HD so it'll be there when needed.

I edited that post once I had them done, but by that time another page was already up, so I'll just put them in this post I guess.

Slim, Itachi's been like that in our fight, he hasnt posted in at least a week an a half. Maybe we should have a rule that if somebody doesnt post within a certain period of time, that they should be disqualified from the fight, because for instance if one person never posted in one of the trial fights, they'd be stuck in the trial and the other member wouldn't have the chance to be ranked, in which the best action might be to disqualify the other member and set up a match up with an active user so only one person's trial is affected, which if they become active again they will have another match set up for them. That's just my opinion though, although user activity could become something to consider.

Now for my banner, I have a banner which I toyed with the lighting effects, and I prefer that one compared to the other, but I'll post both again now.

Well, I'd like to comment on something. For a club designed to help writers improve, we have a pitiful amount of members providing feedback for those who ask for it. We have some of the best darn writers in the forums in here, and I'm sure all of us trying to improve would value your input immensely.

I've asked twice now and have only managed comments from Toph and Musicmuse. I appriciate these comments more than you could know, as they provided me with information about my writing. I'd like more, though it seems that is too much to ask for.

I suppose my posts are just being ignored. Even a "damn girl, your post sucked" would be better than just....nothing. But, what can you do, I suppose I better suck it up and continue to walk through near darkness as I attempt to get a handle on this. Toph, thank god you have that torch there. I'd die without it.

Dragonheart, Darkwolf and I have all made sigs. They've gotten a couple vague comments here and there, and thoguh I agree that someone's post shouldn't be soley about them, I also think that they should be acknowlegded seeing that, as of now, we wasted anywhere from 10-20 minutes of our lives on them.
