I'm down for Blade Academy as well.

I didn't think it was particularly limiting, as Darkwolf kind of hinted at (way to back your own suggestion )... I like it as well so my vote goes to that choice too.

Heh, names are just cosmetic. As long as we get some good content it doesn't really matter to me what it's named. ^^;

Well, like I said. It seems a lot of members are going for Blade Academy, so we'll get the other judges' decisions and then come up with a new introduction post, and the new Blade Academy will be well under way.

Major headache, and getting bitched at, so tiny post:

Blade Academy seems kinda... well, sharp. So those of us that don't use weapons that cut/magic, seem left out in that sort of name.

Also, I have a rank system that goes by class AND rank. I'll search my comp for it tomorrow. Going to bed now.

Well... what about just... "The Academy" instead? There's no rule that states the thread title needs to specifically describe the club to a "t" or anything like that. So long as the first post in the thread reflects the club's purpose and activities, isn't that all that's needed?

Jecht, I didn't necessarily chuck them at your character's back, just from above on a wall of the maze. Sorry about the lack of description usage, I've been on zombie mode for the past week or more. I'll try to do better, but I'm more than a little drained from several real life things. You know, getting the last exams you'll ever do done, making sure some of your mates don't gouge each other's eyes out, keeping the streets a little more fun, that type of thing. And at the cost of sleep too. I'm also trying to be online every day. My eyes look pretty ****ed to put it mildly.

As for a club name, Howl's awesome super cool special club?

Or possibly a lessor name such as:

A prefix such as RP, RPB, Role Play, Fighter's etc, and an end such as Haven, Utopia, Hut, Inn, Tavern, Pub, Guild....etc.

Just an idea.

Argh! Damn you all for being on a diffenrent time zone, posting at bloody 3 and 4am! I nearly missed my chance to post an opinion of current affairs... Maybe I should move to the US, then I would get to post when the topic has a red envelope beside it. Americans like Scottish accents don't they?

Anyway back on topic, I've noticed that the suggested names for the reformation of the club do seem to focus on the fighting side of things, it's been overlooked quite a lot but the club was accepted because it wasn't a faction but rather a place to develop both RPB and RP skills* so giving it a name like that is extremely misguiding... Not that Fighter's Guild wasn't but all the same...

Personally I like Cesar's suggestion the most, 'The Academy' has a nice ring to it even though it seems a little flat. However it beats out B.A. for the same reason as PM's, blades are so over-rated >.>;

*Yeah, yeah it's typical that I'm the one to bring up the RP thing but... Toph did it first

Yeah, The Academy sounds alright. I like it, too. It's simple and standard, and fulfills its purpose.

So, if everyone likes The Academy, we'll go ahead and rename it that.
Then we'll work on a new opening post.

imo it's really not fair to say half the thigns you've said to him. I think he had a really good point in his past post about you making a *cough* was just as bad as what he'd said earlier and got harrassed for.

for me, I'm considering leaving not so much the arguments, but the way people go on about them. it seems most people here nit-pick at the dumbest things and act as if they're so much higher in power then the rest of us. no offense to anyone, Im just not getting a friendly vibe from anyone.

also I'm not just sticking up for Slim because he's my friend. I can honestly say if I barely knew him and saw his posts and how you've all reacted to them, I'd still say the same thing.I think you're being unreasonable and taking things too seriously.

I don't think we really nit-pick or anything of that sort. And if you're not getting a friendly vibe, you should share with us your concerns, that way we can better the club and ourselves. If you keep your concerns to yourself, nothing is going to get any better.

And okay, fair enough, we did react foully to his posts. But do you not also notice his reactions to our own posts? In my opinion, they were a lot worse, if not the same.

And this is a club for helping people improve writing. So of course we're going to take some things seriously. I would say we were unreasonable and were taking things too seriously.

I don't know about now, though. But really, if you have any problems, you should say something instead of keeping it to yourself.

What don't you like about the members of the club and/or the club itself? Maybe we can fix that.

well my above post should explain my feelings pretty well. if anything I've said there got better I'd be content. I really hope I don't come off as greedy or anything though, I understand the world doesn't revolve around me and I really don't want people to "change" just because I said I don't like the way they post.

I'm going to just stop this new dilema now and wait until the new thread is made. I'll worry about it then. btw is the new thread going to mean we have to re-do all the battles?

Re-doing battles? Of course not! With the re-formation these battles are recreational due to the possible/likely deletation of ranking

Besides, the RPB forum still contains the battles...

damn, I was actually hoping for a re-do since I'm not really satisfied with my current score. but I guess I can still prove myself if I can battle someone in the future to improve my ranking.
