FINAL FANTASY IS MY FAVORITE SERIES but why do they put those rediculas monsters at the start ive had to restart 5 times because of that crap.But thats the only thing i hate dont you.

In FF1, the creatures near the beginning are quite manageable.
In FF2, the first battle against the mounted enemies is unwinnable. You lose the fight for plot purposes.

But most likely the thing you are referring to is the ease of wandering into an area you are underlevelled for in FF2.

It's the game's way of telling you "Don't go there yet."

I recommend saving often.

Yeahb ive beenplaying it alot lately and i save like hell.This is the best ff ive played on the go.So what i mean is thats all that dissapointed me.

It just means level up a bit more. Or if you have a monk in your team, go kill them.

It's when there's a boundry you cross and the monsters become impossible for your characters, in happens in II, if you miss the third town (I think it's the third one) you stray into terrian that your not meant to get to untill much, much later on and you get decimated before you know it.

Yah its number 2 i had no problem in 1.Ive leveled up a rediculus amount by raising mp and magic stat then killing them.

FF-2 is one of the harder games in the series. you wont get killed as long as you save frequently, train once in a while, and go to the right places. Also, do not save the game inside caves or dungeons or the such, ever.

Oh my god. I was playing the PSP remake of FFII and I got positively stomped within the first hour of the game. I'm levelling my characters and I happen to walk two feet in the wrong direction and I have to fight 276 level 89 Ogres and they wipe the floor with me. Wish they would set up a fence or something warning me, especially since I'm a haughty player and think saving is for sallies. Guess I've gotta start all over.

saving isn't for sallies specialy when the power likes to go out around your house when you play the ps2 anyways! sorry ya 2 is tough im going to play it again when i find my ps1. I hate that when you step in the wrong aria.

i'm playing it for psp i manged to get up to the part were the dreadnaught capured cid ship but on my way the on the map all the mondsters there are both strong and and paralize the second they attacked me i trained somemore and the still wiped like a broken twig

Any other game would have an invisible wall preventing you from progressing, instead, Final Fantasy forces you to fight a boss you can't defeat until much later.

That's very true Raines. It happened to me the first time I played FFII, after leaving that third town, I think it was Fynn I wondered into this marshy area and a group a 6 turtle monsters pwned me hard. Beyond Fynn is when it got to be the hardest. Following that path up, leads you to where the dreadnought would be later on in the game and going there with weak characters and very weak HP is asking to get yourself owned.

the main reason i see these issues happening is this was a early rpg game!, its not a modern game where these things are taken more into consideration. now a days i rarely see this problem, but then i guess it was quite common.

yea i remember my first time playing it and walking into the desert it was a very bad idea
