Have you ever lost all memory of something?

This happened to me a few times in the past. I lost all memory of an entire day, and never knew what happened.

Like, back when I was a freshman in high school, I went normally on one Monday and went to bed. The next day I remember was suppose to be a Tuesday, but it came out to a Wednsday. I didn't realize it until someone asked, "Where were you yesterday?" I was lost in school too, as if I disappeared for one entire day. I couldn't get a straight answer out of my parents either...

It's as if I lost a day's worth of life. I don't know what happened that day. I feel normal afterwards like nothing happened.

Things like, where I was; what I did; who I met; What was going on..., it's all blank... I don't remember anything at all on those days.

And like I said, this wasn't just once, but a few times in my life.


Has this ever happened to anyone else, or can anyone explain it to me?

I've had this happen a few times.

Sometimes I have a dude where's my car type scenario, where I don't know what happened on the friday night and have to figure it out over the weekend. Other times I'll wake in a shopping centre or something on the far side of Sydney or close to the Victorian border or whatever and I'll have no idea of why or how it happened. It's worth it though.

Other than that, only if I get whacked in the head too hard.

For me, It wasn't from drugs or anything like that, cuz I never touched the stuff. It also happened to me when I was younger, about 8 or 9, too.

It just like, my memory was erased or something and I disappeared from everywhere for just that time. No one knew where I was or anything. I don't know...



Something else that is weird with my memory, I remember things from before I was born. Like they're not my memory, but someone else's.

One thing I remember is standing somewhere on a beach, looking at a blue house and my parent's blue stachion wagon, and my older brother fishing, he was about 12 at the time. It's evening, and the sun is just setting, and... that's all I remember.

But when I asked my parents and my brother and sisters about it, they said that was before I was born, 1984. I was born in 1988.

Like the memory lost thing, that wasn't the only time, too. It's all confusing to me. I don't know about this either.

Count in basically all of the members of Ranger's club. I've had more than a few of these instances.

There was the last time when I did a substance, that although was not a controlled substance, was amazingly potent and dangerous. It was probably the most stupid thing I've ever done.

I woke up in an ER having gallons of my blood drawn so they could figure why, I, a healthy gentleman of 20 had passed out and was experiencing tachycardia.

I remember it only because my friends have told me the whole story every chance they get.

The whole incident was a mistake in the numerical calculation for dosage. I thought that I had weighed out the samples perfectly only to find out that I had in fact more than necessary for the proper ratio of body weight per dose.

The rest of the night I tossed and turned murmuring something about wanting to die or dieing in general(Which I knew very well was a reliable phase of the drug). I then woke up in the early morning screaming at the top of my lungs that I could not feel my skin. That my nerves were not functioning and that I couldn't tell the difference from barely touching my leg to biting ferociously on my arm.

For two days I drifted in and out of consciousness, heart rate from between 120-165. Murmuring to no one in particular. Math and Chris-Chris checked on me.

The only thing I remember is that it was the only time in my life I was afraid of death and not so much dying but dying in that particular humiliating fashion.


EDIT:

Really, in retrospect it was fascinating, the doctors were all so concerned because they could not figure out what had happened. Poor little doctors... But at any rate it was magnificently horrible experience that I won't forget.


BTW Draken, You may be refering to what is known as Lacunar Amnesia which is something I would look into If I were you...

But it wasn't like random times or something, it was almost like preset times, like certain days of my life were erased from my memory and myself in the memory of others during that time. Everyone acts normal during those times, but without me. Like I said, my parents didn't know anything about it. So I'm not sure...

Maybe I'm not really here or exist somewhere else and jump around time and space every so often.

I've never had any true memory loss incidents, however I have a slight memory loss thing from time to time. Sometimes when i'm out walking somewhere, like around town, thinking to myself, I sometimes stop, confused because i've forgotten where I was going or what I was ment to be doing. I think this is just me being a little daydreamer though. Sometimes if I stay the night at someone elses house, I get a bit of a shock when I wake up because I think i'm in my bed, although I do remember I stayed the night there once my brain kicks in. I think my brain is just a little slow!

Whats happened to you, though Draken is a bit strange. It must be quite scary from time to time. As for Celtic... well... I think the whole forum knows why he wakes up in strange places!

If it's psychological then it may be a trauma connected with a part of your daily life. If it is physical, then it may be some chemical reagent or allergen that you come into contact with on your routine, or jeez tons of stuff it could be...

Just think of all the stuff you could be exposing yourself to, drugs, meds, environmental or psychological factors. If it happens for a long time more than once, or even now I would seek medical attention. It's possible you've incurred an injury or the like.

No, not like a daily or weekly thing, there's years between them, but they always end up being a whole day or so. I don't take drugs or drink, nor do I have an unusual medication. Never had a concusion, either (quite lucky I guess). I don't think it's allergies, cuz they're every year, for several months.

Maybe, It's some sort of thing that effects others too, cuz no one questions it until after it happens. My school wasn't concerned, until the next day, no phone calls or anything. Like I said, It's as if I didn't exist anywhere for a certain amount of time, and disappeared from people's memories until I return.

My memory is weird I guess with remembering and forgetting things.

I'm a fairly regimented person so sometimes days run into themselves or I'll occasionally forget what day it is exactly. Not often but it does occur from time to time.

As for remembering further back I have random things I'll remember or forget. For instance.

I for some reason to this day remember say a color, persons name, smell, taste, or perhaps even a word they said or shirt they wore. I mean I still remember useless convo's with random people. Yet when it comes to say big things I should remember such as maybe a test or someone who played a big part in my past I'll have no recollection of.

Funny how the world works sometimes.

Setzer, I know what you mean. I got this line from a maths song in primary school stuck in my head "six ty-mes six equawls thiirtyyy six..."

Yet for the life of me I cannot remember a single quote from anything else. Which sucks something severe as the higher school's English tests all involve regurgitation of quotes from less than interesting books, poems and AV pieces such as movies.

That said, if something is in one of my few major fields of interest, it typically sticks.

That happened to me yesterday, it seemed like Wednesday had dissapeared or something, I looked at my (fancy ) clock which displayed the day and found it was Thursday, and I have no memory of what actually happened that day.

I've also had amnesia, when I was 6 or 7 (second year of primary school... I think...) I somehow fell and hit my head of something, then for the next day or so I had to be co-dependant on my mother and was taken out of school for a few days... I went to the hospital and they ran tests, and a few days later for no apparent reason everything just came back to me... The people in Final Fantasy make it too glamorous...

Loss of memory only happens to me on a small scale. Like I'll walk into a room to do something and then forget what I was there for. But then I'll remember again as soon as I step out of the room. Some of the above examples I didn't even know were possible.

Anyway probably the most extreme case I can recall is when I was in english class and I wanted to ask the teacher a question so I put my hand up and then when she ask I forgot. So she said she'll come back to me. I remembered again and when she said yes. I forgot again. So next time I wrote myself a reminder on a piece of paper the next time it came to me and I finally asked the question.

I'm not sure how or why it happens, but it does.

I have another memory that I think isn't mine. They're not dreams either. they're things in the back of my mind. Although, usually vague, they're clear enough to make out sometimes.


This one's unusually quite clear.

I was in an aircraft..., a prop plane..., flying in circles..., trying to get away from someone. The plane was sort of black... and white... with a square top.

My aircraft... suddenly... flipped upside down, and I heard something... something hard..., really hard hit me on the right. The plane... started to spiral out of control. I looked back to the right... and the wing was torn off.

I... closed my eyes and said something, in a language... I don't know how to speak today. I think it was German..., and I understood it then..., somehow, but I can't now.

I asked a friend who took German and he translated it for me. I think it was, "Even if I die, the worl
