This question is for you experienced pros out there. I was wondering if the PAL or International or European version of FF X would run on PS 2's sold in the U.S. market? From what I read it sounds like a really souped up version of what was sold in the U.S. There are Ribbons, Penance, and the Dark Aeons in it. Sounds like much more of a challenge, too! The next question is if it will run on U.S. marketed machines does this version have a language choice of English(British) included in it? Man! It would be like playing a whole new game if it will work and I can understand it. The last question would be is where could I get one?

If you dismantle your PS2 and mod it (re: void the warranty), then you will be able to import a copy of the PAL release and play it on your PS2 here. If you want information on how to install a mod chip on your PS2, go check Google. As it is an action which voids the warranty on your console, it's not something we allow to be discussed here on the forums.


So, to answer your question -- there's no EASY way to play the International version, no. It requires some work.

As far as where to get a copy of the game... Amazon, eBay, Play-Asia, etc.

Will the PAL version still run at...I think it's 50hz, even on an NTSC console?

Well that's the end of that brilliant idea! It would be neat to play though if you could do it right out of the box. Maybe someday Square will release the PAL version to run on US machines and make several more million on this game. Thanks for the info gamers.
