~ The Person I Truly Am ~

For those who question my essence I will speak and tell
The person I am is one who can get you out of your shell
For the ones who can aide me, I will try and do all that I can
I feel it is my duty, not only as a human, but also as a man

Everyone has his trouble, be it big or small
I can help them I know, but I can’t help them all
I know not how to rise, for I have seen only my fall
But even on my knees, I continue to crawl
I want to help myself, so I can’t give in to it all
I want to do this alone, yet I want someone to call

I’m not always like this, I’m happy once in a while
I can deal with most problems, so I’m glad I can smile
I cannot tell you any lies, for I am an honest guy
But sometimes I feel so weak, and I need to find out why

I need to discover this very last bit of myself, to make me complete
It can turn in to a bumpy ride, but at the end, I know there is no defeat
I’m afraid I can’t do this alone, like I need someone by my side
But I will not be a victim of my feelings, which I refuse to hide

I know I’m strong, but at times it’s hard to stand
For now, let me be, but also hold my hand
Victory is in sight, I know I’m almost there
Everything will fall in to place, as long as I care…
