Any Ys fans?

I've only played the one on the PS2, The Ark of Napishtim and I loved it so I was wondering if anyone else has played any Ys games? Its a shame they only brought The Ark of Napishtim over on PS2 I heard the whole series got remade on PS2 in Japan. I'm hoping some of the games will show up on the Wii VC, I'd love the chance to play all of them

I'm a pretty big fan of Ys. I remember having Ys III for SNES way back in the day, and I recently got my hands on The Ark of Napishtim for PSP. The story is kinda weak for most of the games from what I've heard, but the game play for the games I've played has been stellar.

I remember hearing that first three Ys games were one of the flagship titles for the doomed Turbografx CD. People look for those ones because they have the voice acting intact.... or something like that, anyways.

What was so special about Ys, anyway? I've never played the games.

The special thing about Ys is that the Gaming Jesus blessed it with awesome gameplay goodness.

Basically, you run into monsters with your sword and try not to die.

Ballzy actually says all that with utmost fondness and not sarcasm. Seriously. Ys Eternal is something BALLIN', disregarding the level-grinding. This place has pretty much all you need to know about Ys, as well as several other series no one gives a shit about like Front Mission or Megaten.
