Just bought Final Fantasy IV for the Gameboy advance but playing it on my DS and the Save system is a f*cking joke!!! I do a save on the world map but it dissapears everytime i start the game again so i did a save on every slot and then a quick save afterwards, luckily i had a continue option. I got to the antillion cave and my characters ran out of MP because i didn't stock up on Ethers, so i was doing 1pt of damage a time against 4 yellow jellies in a battle which lasted 20 minutes....i walked up the stairs and guess what? 4 more jelly! So that was it and i turned off my DS expecting to pick up my save outside Damycan but no....My continue had dissapeared and so had my saves!!!!!! What the hell do i do? i love this game but i'm not starting from scratch every time i play it!

| | The only course of action I can see you being able to really take is to either; Get a new copy of FFIV. or Get your hands on (any) GBA. 'cuz this is the first I have heard of this, unless your DS batteries are low or somesuch and cant retain the info? happens w/ my old SEGA Saturn alot when the battery is low I lose info. | ||||||||

| Mistress of Succubi | Uhm...seems like it's really buggy. But for all I know, the DS probably needs some sort of memory stick/card to save stuff. Or maybe you can't save GBA games on your DS. >.>; Edit: Seems Dawezy posted same time I did. xD Follow his advice, he knows what he's talking about lol. | ||||||||

| | I thought I have heard of FFIV saves accidentally erasing themselves, though I'm not too sure, never happened to me. Though from what it sounds like, you're only doing Quick Saves. Quick Saves erase themselves, you have to do an ACTUAL save (the option that actually says SAVE on the World Map) | ||||||||

| Wicked | Simple...just buy a Game Boy Advance. If its not gonna save your game while playing on the DS then why bother playing it over and over when you know that your DS won't save it? So like Dawezy said, just buy a GBA.

55 | Been doing a bit of Googling and i'm pretty sure it's because the battery in my FF4 cartridge is low as i've got a pre-owned copy. I took the screw out of the cartridge but didn't dare open the case as it felt like it'd snap, plus i don't have a clue where i'd get a replacement battery from. In the mean time i think i can get by just using quick save as long as i do it everytime i switch off the game but if i turn it off by accident one time without doing a quick save then my continue will be lost ![]()

| | Not to mention if you die you also lose your Quicksave. And beware the Lunar Ruins as there's a part that will almost always freeze your game! I don't see how it could be the battery itself, those things usually last for many, years. If it was the ORIGINAL "FFII" I could understand. From my experience, is sometimes it's a single Save slot, and I believe FFIV-A has three save slots, try saving it in a different slot, that's sure to help! | ||||||||

55 | Tried it on every slot in fact and they all get erased, i'm aware about the danger of only using quick save that's why i'm not even going to attempt to play the game with that. I prized open my cartridge earlier today and i don't have a clue what battery it uses as its just silver with a yellow plastic coating round the edge plus it's soldered or glued so i don't want to risk snapping anything. Do you think i could take it anywhere who could actually do it? really don't want to re-buy the game.............

1,054 | Keep in mind that you're talking about the old SNES cartridges which had to be blown every once in a while. My Kirby's Superstar game had stopped working just because i left it in my basement which has a lo of moisture for some odd reason. That being said, i think that may be your problem. Do you leave your GBA or Games in moist areas? The moisture can actually muck ur games up real fast!
