The Winds Lover OOC

[Lady Rika]

The two crescent islands of Careithus are being plagued by a death dealing wind. Entangled in the wind lies a scent, but no sweet smelling aroma…but a suicidal tang that bewitches the mind and entrances the soul to the grips of death, sending those to the reapers open arms. Except for the humans whose nose dead luck keeps them safe, but for how long?

Animals of course are first, bashing open their heads, drowning themselves; and the humble mortals are left to starve to death. Mortified many of the people lose hope when their pests began to die; locking themselves in their houses refusing to face the world.

But how long till it reaches the humans? No one knows, but each day the pungent scent grows stronger, its deadly hands reaching farther across the land. The only clue as to stopping the maddening ‘disease’ are the dying words of a prophet…

“Long live the elements for they shall save of us all
Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth; without them we shall fall.”

That gives a basic idea of what the story line is. Like the prophet said four elements are needed but those four stated above can only be taken by one character. There are other elements if you wish for your character to be a kenetic an example being 'Pyrokenetic' such as my character.

The three remaining are water, wind , and earth. These are up for grabs by the first people to post their character sheet as a kenetic. Oh, and there can be characters who aren't kenetics, you'll still be loved without powers! ^_^

Now time for my Rules, so please pay attention.
Rule one: Follow the rules that are already stated in the forum. Just because I'm new doesn’t mean I don't know them!
Rule two: I have a habit of writing long posts, I know sometimes they can be boring but trust me mine ARE NOT!!! But even if they are I suggest you read it all anyway. It will all be important I assure you.
Rule three: The biggest rule is no leaving halfway through my Roleplay, I do not wish this to die, since I've worked REALLY hard on this!


Now this is my first Roleplay here at TFF, so please be kind! ^_^

Villages

~Suzume-The dark hearted village on the other side of the forest. Those said to live their have lost their hearts to the shadows left by the trees.
~Hoshi (Stars)- Said to be separate village set apart from all the rest. Those who live their claim to be decedents of those who fell from the heavens above. Great deities who gave up their powers to live among us.
Boushi- Village of artists, the people who wander end up in up in this village. This village has many secrets as do them all. Many artists refuse to answer how their artwork was even created.
~Taiyo (Sun) - The village of the sun, a village that always seems to have the luminosity of sunlight even in the darkest of nights. You can always see the ostensibly perfect glow of the sun shining upon its land. It’s also capital village of the island of Careithus, the most populated and beautiful, and upbeat village it always seems lively, from the many people who flow in and out it always seems active.
~Suiren (Water lily) - The Village of the Water lily, or the water village as it is commonly referred too. Is a quiet, peaceful place where few venture, mostly because of the large lakes surrounding it, and the massive mountains guarding it. They are very close with nature and hold the water in high spirits.
~Urashima (Time) - The village of Time is just as it is, timeless. Although the name describes itself, time can’t watch itself can it not? Although many days are spent in a haze of sluggish leisure where time can move so slow its hard to breath. Than there are the rare occasions when time can move so fast then sun itself doesn’t seem to set.
~Kaguya Village (Moon radiance) – The village of the Moons Radiance is a simple, moderate town that generates itself by farming and hunting. Though many of the people here can be quite poor they are not without high spirits, but many aristocratic people of great wealth reside their as well, for the simple fact of its beautiful landscaping, and humble lifestyle. The woods surrounding it provide the village with plenty of game and clean, fresh spring water.
Shuyin River- Two lovers escaping from the mountains took the dangerous Shuyin River as a last resort. Their desire to get to the ocean also led to their demise. Some say their angered souls keep the river wild and even more treacherous. When the moon is full and wide, the legend says that they lure victims to the surface with a beautiful, sad love song. In which they grab you with sharp clawed hands, dragging you to the seemingly bottom of the cavernous River. But that’s just a legend right?
Dragoneye Lake- A popular tourist spot and hangout for younger Careitheins. The clean water is full of fish and treasure so there is hardly a time when Dragoneye Lake isn’t over run with people.

Other Appearance: Long chocolate brown hair, her clothes are more grunge style though the times are particularly not as modern. She’s quite slender but her corsets make her seem more so. She’s short only around 5’3 but her spunky attitude makes up for it.
Bio: Silk is an orphan now, but she could really care less. Her care not attitude makes her seem like a bitch a lot of the time but in truth she’s just quite lonely. Her Pyrokenetic powers make just add to her fiery behavior but be warned when she gets really too full of one emotion her entire body catches on fire and she could overheat and die. Especially since she cannot control her fire power very well. Though she can careless most of the time her conscience gets the better of her 98% of the time.

I am actually looking to join an RP, however I have a concern that you, as a new member, might not be aware of. RPs here start out great, active and strong, yet eventually they start slowing down, and the gaps between the posts start getting lengthier.

I don't mind long posts (as long as they are eligible, of course), but my big question for you is: as the creator, will you post actively to keep the plot moving? I don't mean to get your hopes down, or spoil your first experience here, but I just want to know if you, being honest, can consider yourself an active person.

If your answer is yes, consider me in. I'll take the role of wind.

Hair Color: A light brown that fades into blonde at the ends.
Eye Color: Green
Other Appearance: Aqua has long light brown hair that reaches to her middle back. The faded blonde ends are natural, though some accuse her of dye. She is very slender, but stronger than she looks. Her normal outfit consists of a tight faded turqouise halter top and black. high cut skirt that reaches to her knees. She wears a pair of blue shorts underneath them.
Bio: Aqua was found out in the woods by an elderly lady when she was a child, around the age of 9. Aqua grew up, finding herself to be different from others, and enjoying time spent with the animals of the village more than human company. Around the Shuyin river during a high spirited festival when she was 11, she realized her power over water. She practiced routinly to learn more, often going back to the Shuyin river for her training. One day while training she had found a wolf pup llying in the grass near the River. Only the age of 14, she carried the pup to the hut where the elderly woman stayed and begged her to help. The wolf pup had only been dehydrated, and quickly recovered. She bonded with him and gave him the name Shuyin, after the river she'd found him by. She soon realized that she had another power as well as that over water, she could understand her wolfish friend. She had thought it normal until many thought she was talking to herself. Although different from the Surien villiagers, she was treated very well, and was infact considered the jewel because of her powers.

Name: Fuuyuu

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Hair Color: Long, silver hair that reached past her thighs.

Eye Color: A strange, matching silver color, a bit darker than the white part of the eye.

Other Appearance: Always barefooted, this wild-looking girl has a white sleeveless shirt, a pair of dark grey pants, and a light blue sash. Though her clothes are very simplistic, she wears a series of bracelets on her arms, and legs, as well as an inexpensive, self-crafted necklace of rope and a few stone. She carries a spaced out look, as if her mind is always elsewhere. When her attention is called however, she gives an aura of carefreeness.

Bio: Fuuyuu was raised by everybody and nobody. Several people took care of her, from different places, and at the same time she took care of herself, wandering on her own, learning what the world held for herself. She was often referred as a quiet girl, but in fact she hadn't been taught how to speak properly, so even to this day, she can only say but a few words. She understand the language accurately, but living off in the wild, and traveling constantly not staying too long in one place did not help at all to improve in this aspect.

Other: Her powers include using the wind to move her body more effectively (jump higher, move faster, etc), predicting the weather, hearing far away sounds that the wind carries (if paying close attention), among other tasks that strictly involve the wind. Can also summon and concentrate small amounts of powerful wind around her body.

Gender: Male

Hair Color: Light Brown

Eye Color: A light mix of blue and green

Other Appearance: Wears a pair of light brown hiking boots, most of the time untied though never seems to trip on them. Some beige shorts that are tattered at the ends. If he's wearing a shirt than it's either a black button up shirt or a dark vest that he has. Sometimes wears work gloves. Has a couple scars on his chest and arms. Has a somewhat friendly looking face. Wears an anklet made of black string and a necklace with a silver square in the middle. Has a very good body when it comes to muscle tone and definition.

Bio: Kessler lived most of his life in Taiyo, from the time he was born till age eight he lived there with both of his parents. He always was active in sports and anything else involving group activities but still found time to read and educate himself. His father lost his job when he was nine and that forced them to move to Kaguya Village. It was there at age ten that he had visiting the construction site of a new home his father was working on, while there the roof fell in and Kessler's powers of Earth awoke, creating a shield around him to protect him. Ten years later, he's a very mature, wise and respected member of the village. He's always one to lend a hand in the village and also outside when needed.

Other: His powers allow him to do what was mentioned, raise part of the earth to protect himself if needed or raise him to a higher elevation (can lower too). He can "speak" to the earth and listen to it's advice by putting his ear to the ground, same with trees. Is in the process of learning how to form solid earth on his limbs and use as projectiles, but still is in the process of learning.

At the moment I'm not posting because I feel there's nothing concrete my character can do. That's why I'm waiting for something to happen, thus letting my character reappear once more.

Hmm...I've been reading this over the past few days and it seems like an interesting story. I was wondering if I may join in, if it's not too late? The Tournament of Heroes is going slowly and I'm in an RPing mood, so I hope I'm not being intrusive here. I took the liberty of sketching out a quick character bio.

Name: Daiyu Ekialde (“Dark Jade of the East”)
Age: 35
Gender: Male
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Jade Green

Other Appearance: Daiyu is tall and slender, with the grace and style of a noble. His clothes, green pants and a matching shirt, are simple and comfortable. He often wears a black cloak when traveling. He looks younger than he is.

Bio: Daiyu’s easygoing nature and genial attitude are at odds with his past. He is a man of war, constantly involved in conflicts both on and off the battlefield. He has a lot of blood on his hands to account for. He’s currently involved as a researcher seeking the cause of the wind due to his experience with the darker forms of magic. He’s also seeking the prophesized powers that may be the key to saving their world.

Other: Daiyu is no kinetic, but he is still powerful in his own right. He has learned to use just about anything as a weapon but his primary strength lies in his mastery of the spear. Quick-witted and agile, he can keep multiple enemies at bay with ease. He has modified his spear, Nalani, so that it can change according to the situation.

I am, of course, willing to change this around if it doesn't quite fit the requirements.

I was also wondering, just from curiosity, if you have any ideas about the cause of this wind. If it's a natural phenomenon caused by some sort of disaster or if someone's behind it. If it's more than just a freak accident, I was thinking that my character might have something to do with it, though I'm not sure why or how yet. I thought it would be interesting to mess around with the idea, as not many RPs ever seem to have villains come into play.

Well, I apologize for being brief and rather vague in my introductory post. My intention is that Daiyu is only a day or so behind you guys and will probably catch up the next time something happens. He's not actively tracking per se as much as just sheer dumb luck leading him to take the same general path. Or possibly a hunch. Likely a mix of both since he's been traveling around a lot during his research.

From what I read you're somewhere outside Kaguya, unless I missed something. Daiyu doesn't know for certain that anyone is there, he's pretty much just walking around since he couldn't get into the town. Investigating, you could say.

And for the moment he is working alone, as far as I know.

Your character might be skillful indeed, yet wouldn't he be somewhat crippled in contrast with beings that can control the elements? Just a thought.
