Final Fantasy VIII: A New Generation

The party had ended, and Lukas has walked Sakuya to her domitory to say goodbye. He was tired, and luckily his dormitory was only 2 minutes walk away. He took off his costume, slumping onto his bed, smiling and remembering what had happened in the past term. Taking his journal, he began to jot down his thoughts.

"Its strange how friendships start. I was always a loner, different from the rest of the class. The jocky guys mocked me because I liked to art, reading, writing and studying. The girls laughed at me for the same reasons. Even other studiers disliked me for some reason. I never understood what made me such an outcast, whether its because of how i act or what, and I still wonder now, although things have changed now. I met somebody during the terror attack on Balamb Garden, who being a temporary battle partner with made me feel what its like to be a team. Both of us outsiders, we quickly became friends. I got worried at the end of the war, I hadn't seen my new buddy, and went through a temporary moment of hating myself and those around me, until a small girl told me she respected me. I had saved her earlier, and I felt that the reason i'm here, the reason i'm fighting is for all these innocent people here at Garden. Jasmine her name was. I haven't seen her since the ceremony, but i'm sure to see that adorable kid sometime again!

Anyway, I remember coming out of my dormitory the day after the ceremony to find my buddy Resitch smashing some cans. He was going to Timber. I really needed to get out, and since i've that Resitch may of possibly of been in danger there, I decided to trot along. It wasn't too long until Selenia, a girl who i'd heard of but never seen before came along, she had duties to protect Resitch apparently. Then along came Sakuya, who I don't think knew why she was coming along, but fate can lead funny paths, eh? We all went to Balamb and hopped on the train to Timber. Resitch's past became apparent, and he got to meet a girl from his childhood, Claire. I had an obscurre dream about Shiva calling out to me, which broke me from my slumber. Upon going downstairs, it seemed that Resitch was experiencing difficulties of his own. Well, the chat got interupted by a Galbadian soldier who found out of Resitch's return, so we fled, alond with Claire, Sakuya, and a drunken Selenia. We fled to one of Resitch's old buddies houses, Donnie, who didnt give us a very warm welcome. He punched Resitch, winding him, so I punched this Donnie guy out of defence. Good, but bad as when he awoke, he started up on me again and we had a bit of a fight. The girls didn't look to impressed... heh...

Well, we soon fled Timber, over to Dollet, picking up another addition to the team, Noelle, on the way. I know little about her, so I don't have much to say. During the trip, Sakuya was showing me these pictures of Guardian Forces in an older edition book of the one I have, though hers seemed so much greater. Everyone then seemed to go off and do their own thing, I was painting the most beautiful sunset that evening, which has just reminded me that I need to pin that painting up, better yet, frame it! Well, it was kinda predictable that on the way back to Balamb, I got seasick as a dog.

Once we returned to Balamb, Squall found out about our expedition and got angry at all of us, talking to each of us individually. Luckily, his anger didn't wear long, and the talk seemed to go well. Anyway, if it wasn't for the trip, I wouldn't of made all these new friends. My lesson the next day was sucky, robot t-rexaurs and I got paired up with Mark... who foolishly sent a thunder spell at it while I was on it. Luckily I wan't injured, just smelt a little singed. Little else to say about the lessony stuff, but I had been doing a lot of revision in my spare time for the SeeD Written Test.

Now, In the cafeteria the morning of the test, I was discussing with Resitch about my latest dream, of Shiva saying of a GF sealed away locally. Resitch suggested that it was in the cave near Garden, so we went to check it out. The cave was creepy, and my skin felt like it was going to melt off as we got closer and closer to the Guardian Force, the fire demon Ifrit. Well, another guy, Kitere over-heard the conversation and followed. Well, Ifrit escaped, though luckily nobody apart from us 3 knows about it, 4 if you're the sneak reading this journal. Away with thee!

Anyhoo, the test went well. Extremely well. I'm sure i've passed with flying colours! Ironically, much of the GF stuff was the stuff Sakuya and I were reading about. At the end of the test, I popped back home to say hi to mum, get changed into my fox costume I made for the family new years do, and had a snack. The party was great, everybodys worries seemed to wash away... and I got to have my first slow-dance! Hehe... anyhoo... tomorrow is another day, hopefully bright and good... and hopefully i'll remember to write in this blooming journal more than I have been doing!"

Lukas closed the journal, putting it into the cupboard beside his bed before drifting off to sleep.

They entered Squalls office and Squall took his seat behind his desk. Resitch sat after and put his head in a slump as he stared at his shoes, he waited to be told off by his headmaster. He only put the entire Island and School in danger. There was a long silence. Squall was obviousy trying to think of the right words.

"There's no easy way to say this-," Squall began but Resitch interupted.

"Headmaster, I'm extremly sorry, It was stupid but, I was angry, I didn't mean to go to Timber or release Ifrit into the world, It was all a stupid-"

"I'm not talking about that" He sighed in frustration.

"Then what are we talking about?" Resitch asked.

"There's no easy way to say this Resitch, So I'm just gonna say it...."

Resitch very concerned swallowed a large piece of air and sat up on his chair. "Whats wrong,"

"I'm sorry, but I just got word from some SeeD's stationed in Timber,"

Resitch kept aware as he stared at Squall. Squall wasn't looking him in the eyes now. Resitch was about to say somthing.

"After your departure from Timber, there was a crackdown on major Resitance members, They stormed the Almassy's house and found it was Seifer's house, Knowing you were being kept there made the Military angry, and this morning at ten hundred hours, a execution was carried out, Donnie, Seifer, Fujin, Raijin, and....your childhood friend, Claire, were all killed this morning. I'm sorry, I really am Resitch and If you need, anything, anything at all, Just talk-"

Resitch didn't hear anymore words. He was lost as soon as he heard execution and Claire's name. A tear came to his eyes then followed by several more. he burst into weeps as he shielded his eyes from squall's glance.

"Squall, we have a situation!" Rinoa's voice came. "A Instructor is dead beneath the basement!"

"Resitch, My words still stand, you need anything, Just talk to me...."
