In a empty field, the flowers bloomed, rabbits lunged out of there burrows in search of food, birds came down to earth for there daily dose of warms/ a Bear came out of the forest also. He rested near a river bed waiting for fish to emerge from down the river. As he found his fish he tore it apart as he rested it in his mouth.

Vinaro smiled to himself. He held in a deep breath before taking aim at the bear with his bow which was laoded with elven arrows. "Bears dont carry that much meat, but there fur, is worth a bundle..." he thought to himself. He let the arrow go in mid-air and it soared trough the air hitting the bear in the neck. Vinaro smiled. he approached the animal before taking out his small knife. He took its sharpest point and placed it under the animals throath and slit.

He then placed the bear in a net he carried. He dragged it towards town for about 45 minutes. He got tired and rested beside a large rock. He took a slug of water before noticing several figures approaching him he noticed there were several soldiers amongst them.
"Vinaro Elen, your under arrest in the name of Elfini," One of the soldiers said.

"I thought you didnt have enough proof!" Vinaro yelled.

"Bag and cuff him..." The captin said. A bag was placed over his head. He didnt fight because he knew if he did, she would never forgive him. The bear was left by the rock as Vinaro was headed towards town.

The morning sun was glowing through the window, warming Runa's face and over her golden-blonde hair. Her eyes slowley opened. She had slept in late for the first time in ages. She normally didn't feel much comfort at home, a lifestyle which many considered perfect, yet she found to be too sheltered. She much rather prefered sleeping out in the middle of the forest, where if anyone needed her, they would send an owl, or a horseman in her father's case. It was either the forest, or with Vinaro. Her father didn't seem to like her spending too much time with him, but she was an independant woman, a streak which he could not control, even with as much power as he had.

Yawning, she removed her gown, walking towards a marble wardrobe with the few garments she wore. To the right, that dreadful white lacy dress her mother gave her. It reminded Runa of a giant marshmallow mixed with a cutain. She removed a green top, with a single strap which hung from the neck, another accross her right arm. It had golden trim, and Runa always wore it, comfortable yet beatiful and the emerald colour of the vegetation of her home. She pulled it over her head, over her chest and arranged the straps accordingly. Next, a long matching skirt, with an opening down the left side for mobility, made of a fine material like a combination of silk, satin and velvet. To the bottom of the wardrobe, a pair of riding boots, brown suede in colour with small tassels. Sliding each one onto her feet, she went to wash her face in the small fountain in the corner of the room. She looked at her reflection. She was happy, calm, yet something felt a little different in the air.

Shaking her head, she made her way to her bedroom door. It was about time she went to visit Vinaro. She twisted the knob, but it didn't move all the way round. Locked? Why? She took the key from her table, inserting it into the keyhole, but something was blocking it- another key.

Growling, she thumped the door with her fist.

Vinaro woke in a small cell, its bad odor was the first thing he noticed before he opened his eyes. It was dark, all trough the cell nothing could be seen. He struggled to his feet and felt around. He waited for his eyes to adjust to the darkness. He found a wooden door in which was made of Mahogony, thick wood which held most of the doors in the castle. He knocked on it repeatedly and yelled frantically.

"Hey! Let me out! I didn't do anything wrong!" He said.

"Yeah, yeah. Tell it to the King..." A Guards voice said. a small window in the door slid open and a pair of eyes were shown.

"Why am I here?" Vinaro yelled at him.

"You stole a royal item from princess Runa, it was found in your room, and Kind Nobleman Virshru found your Journal, it had clear evidence on what you done, what you planned to do, all in your hand writing"

"Lies!" Vinaro yelled. "Let me speak to her! She will tell you I'm not a thief!"

"Like I said, the evidence is against you, tommorow you will be sentenced....dont make things any worst for yourself Vinaro..." The window was closed and he was back in the dark. He managed to sit back in his bed. It was lumpy, damp and smelled like vomit. He collapsed on the bed.

"Who's framing me, it must be somone who despises me and wants the king against me, Virshru, he found the stuff, plus once to many have I found him sniffing around in Runa's room with items that dont belong to him....,but why would he plant all this evidence on me,

His thoughts led him into accusations. Several times he thought the King had framed him, he even thught Runa had sold him out, but his prime suspect was Virshru, he didn't know what to believe anymore.

The midday sun was high into the skies as Vincent staggered into the small, remote village in the countryside. He had finally left the barrenness of the wastelands to come home. His journey would take longer if he carried on by foot but still, he had no horse to ride. He fell onto the wall of a house. Leening against it in the shade he looked around the small area he was now in. Not much to say. A few houses made of wood, one made of stone. A couple of buildings that looked like what should be shops. What was unusual was everyone was looking at him. Men, women and children who had been once carrying on with there lives normally had stopped and were staring at Vincent.

Maybe they didn't like outlander or were they just curious about him. It could have been a long time since someone had passed through the village but still, he wasn't interested. He needed to feed, thats what was important. He looked past the rotting buildings to see a farm in the distance. If there were animals there at least, it would keep him going for awhile. But in the worst case, he might have to feed off one of the humans there.

Walking to the farm Vincent tried to keep his balance but from other peoples point of view, it was like he was drunk. He couldn't walk in a straight line from the lack of food, water and blood. Reaching the footsteps off the farmdoor he knocked. A man roughly the age of 30 came to the door and looked down upon Vincent. He asked

"What do you want?"

Vincent replied "Do you have any animals here i could possibly have?"

"No, now clear off. These animals are for the village." The farmer had anger in his eyes. Vincent couldn't understand why but it didn't matter, the hunger was too great. Grabbing the poor farmer, he forced him back into the house. With what strength he had, he punched the man across the face. With that one blow, he knocked him out. Now he could feed. First he lay the man on the bed. Then he pulled out one of his knifes making a small cut on the mans leg. He put his mouth around the cut and started to suck the blood out. It was sweet to the taste. It satified his hunger for blood and his strength returned. He was tempted to drink the man dry but he wasn't a killer. This much blood would keep him going for now. So leaving the man on the bed, he left and headed out back into the village.

Runa heard footsteps approaching. Giving the door one hard, final slam she took a few paces backward. She recognised the slow, pounding footsteps. They belonged to her father.

"Darling, you will break the door if you continue making that racket,"

"I wouldn't be banging on the door if you didn't lock it!"

"I need your co-opperation. I can't have you floozying off with the worker boy, or playing by the river with your pony."

"And why can't I see Vin?! Why can't I go out into the forest with Obsidian, who is a horse, not a pony! Its a free country! At least you make it out to be..." She shouted. She knew he was up to something.

"Darling, I lead the kingdom with freedom and peace. Vinaro... is an outcast to our kingdom."

"He's human. What makes humans so different from us?! Look at how much he has helped our kingdom and it's people! He's more of a man than you ever will be!"

"Such disrespect for your creator, your own blood," the King sighed. "Vinaro has the disrespect of humans. He is a thief, who is working for us because he knows what he wants. He has his eyes set on our great treasures. Treasures which should not leave this forest, nay, this city."

"Vin is a hard working man, who would do anything for you, me, mother and sister."

"He would do anything for our riches, child. Check your room, have you noticed anything missing? He's a thief, and you will come to realisation sooner or later."

The footsteps moved away from the door as Runa moved forwards, again twisting the knob. It was still locked.

"LET ME OUT OF HERE!!!" She yelled.

The footsteps were becoming faint, as was the distant voice.

"You will realise sooner or later."

Far to the North, near the largest volcanos in the Northern Chain, the White Fang Legion was in battle formation. It's numbers, 5,000 strong, including catapults and other war machines, waited for the reported force of some Valkyrians. Their leader, General Augustus, was a stoic Knight of Lucia, and fought many battles against the Valkyrians, sat atop his horse and awaited the Dark Knights.

Earlier, he had sent out a couple of scouts into the mountains. Off in the distance, he could see the pair coming back. Augustus had a bad vibe. He saw that one was carrying the other, running for his life. A few yards before the first line, an arrow came out of the blue and struck the running scout in the back. He fell to the ground at Augusts' feet. A subordinate ran and checked him. "Dead."

After the bodies had been removed, the general ordered the catapults to be primed and ready for to be fired. Moments later, the general met a forboding sight. The Valkyrians marched out of the lower mountain ranges, but not of the race he guessed. Instead, the latter were made up of minotaurs. They carried hefty double-edged axes and swords. And, worst of all, their numbers had been miscaculated. Instead of the few 2,000, they were almost double his forces. They White Fang Legion stirred. "HOLD YOUR POSITIONS!" He yelled at the top of his lungs. "Archers to the front-" Augustus' order was caught off when a black winged mass flew out from behind the mountains. "No..." He swore under his breath. It was a black dragon, the most fiercest of their race. It landed in front of the minotaur lines. On its back, a rider clad in the armor of a Valkyrian general commanded the minotaurs to move forward. They rushed the Lucians.

Hours since the battle began, both sides had gained significant loses. General Augustus held his own in the fray while others struggled. A good chunk of the minotaur force had been wiped out during their initial charge. But, the dragon rider stayed back, waiting for the pefect moment to enter the fight. In Augustus' mind, he knew that the Valkyrian General knew that Augustus knew that if the rider were to enter now, the White Fang Legion would be crushed and the city of Zanas would be left defenseless. Zanas was the second largest city with its twin city, Zanar in the same place.

The General was busy on foot holding off a minoutaur soldier when a shadow passed above. He quickly slew the minotaur and looked above. The Valkyrian General flew his black dragon in the fight and landed in a group of fighters. The Valkyrian turned his attention to General Augustus who, in turn, charged at him. The dragon was occupied feasting on a Lucian so the Valkyrian went on foot also. Like the minotaurs, he carried a double-edged axe. The two exchanged blows, Augustus recieved a few cuts, while he couldn't even nick the Valkyrian. The Valkyrian chuckled under his faceplate and swung hard at Augustus who fell to his feet. Augustus was going to kill himself out of honor when he saw out of the corner of his eye, the black dragon's jaws.

After General Augustus' death, the White Fang Legion fell quickly. Within a matter of hours, the city of Zanas would be overcome and destroyed.

"Up you get scum, sentencing in a hour..." A voice came trough the slide of his cell door.

Vinaro shook himself awake. His worries had worn him out and send him to a deep sleep. His eye's bemaed at the ceiling. He took out his shoes which were beneath the bed. It was a pain trying to tie them when he was shut in the dark. He finnaly got them on and Knocked on the door to signal the guards he was ready. They came for him in a split second. They binded his hands with heavy chains and led him up a series of stairs, out of the dungeon he was in. The light beamed into his eyes, he couldn't see properly, his eyes were blurred so he kept them closed. His legs were still moving up some stairs until they came to a halt. He heard doors opening which came from infront of him. He was pushed within the doors. He opened his eyes again now, they were slightly better and he could see clearer, although there was still some strain on his eyes. Vinaro found that he was in the Kings thrown room and sitting on there thrones were the King and Queen and a man dressed in blue armour who he knew as Virshru. Virshru approached him.

"Vinaro Exce Dormain, you stand accused of thievery of the royal family's, long held heirloom," He smiled.

Vinaro spat in his face. Virshru repulsed on what Vinaro had done wiped his face with his Handkerchief, he then took out a Knife and held it up to Vinaro's throath.

"If you kill him," The Queen spoke. "Runa will never marry you...."

Virshru threw down his knife and let the King speak.

"Vinaro Exce Dormain, I sentence thee to be Banished from our Lands, you are now shunned by the great Elven race, you must never come back here, Never see my daughter again, do you understand?" The King asked as he stood from his throne.

Vinaro was shocked by this. Banishment was the worst he feared, he expected the death penalty, he would of excepted that, he couldn't see Runa then, no matter how much he wanted to, he would be dead, but living a life away from her and knowing he could see her and wasnt allowed, would torture him, torture him for many years to come.

"I understand..." He paused for a while. "Can I,...see Runa...one last time..."

"No, Runa is to be wed to Virshru, she has no more time to be seen in the eyes of Scum like you," The King said.

Vinaro Ignored the Kings Insult.
"What!? Why not let her Choose!? Why!? She deserves to be free, I know her" The Guards began to remove him from the room. He punched one of them in the face. " My Lord, she wants to be free!" The Guards grabbed a hold of him again and removed him from the room.

"Goodbye Vinaro, your banished from here on...." Virshru smiled.

It looked as if Vincents luck has turned round. When he went back to the village, the people carried on like normal and didn't pay attention to him this time. That was a good sign to him, he didn't really like to be noticed. Also he had found a horse. It looked as if no one was looking after it since it wasn't tied up. So mounting it he rode out of the village, back into the countryside. As he travelled on through the open field of grass he could still taste the farmers blood in his mouth. It has such a wonderful texture, taste and smell. But he probaly would have said that about anyones blood after not drinking some in days.

His mind was filled with images of his return. Would anyone recongize him? Would he get into trouble for leaving like that? So many questions and soon they would be answered. The minutes felt like they were hours as slowly the horse trotted along the road. So boring. Nothing to fight. Nothing to hunt. Nothing to do. His right leg kicked the horse side without him knowing and soon he was holding on tight around the horses neck as it sprinted off down the stone road. It kept building up speed and its energy seemed limitless.

As it finally came to a stop, Vincent gave a sigh of relief having survived that. The horse was now panting and would need a drink but from Vincents view, he couldn't see a river or lake in sight. However, they had traveled a long distance and Vincent could see something big on the horizon. He put his hand over his eyes to shade them from sun. He could see more clearly now and it looked as if a town or city wasn't to far a head. It was strange. How fast was that horse running or was that thing in the distance an illusion. No way he could have come this far so fast unless it was a new town. It didn't matter. Willing the horse back into movement, it slowly walked a long the road to the town.

Runa looked out of the open window, shuffling onto the ledge. She sat, staring down at the ground hundreds of meters down. It was too far to jump. If she did, she would die, or worse, critically injured. It would also give a bad impression on her family. Although they had been acting suspiciously, she still loved them. Instead, she sat sadly on the ledge.

The footsteps proceeded up the stairs again, but this time she remained silent. Perhaps if she was to remain quiet, then she would be allowed to venture outdoors. They stopped outside the door, followed by a high-pitched cling of metal and clockwork motion. The door opened to her father, and one of the maids. The king pointed at Runa, as the maid proceeded into the room.

"Runa, the king and queen have a surprise for you."

Runa blinked. Today was no special occasion. Their behaviour was odd, but today was no national holiday, or anybody's birthday for that matter. At least, nobody Runa knew of. She slood off the windowsill and onto the carpet, nodding at the maid.

"Both the king and queen would appreciate it if you wore that beautiful white gown, the one her majisty had crafted especially for you."

Runa shook her head. "I'm not wearing that horrific lacy marshmallow!"

"You have to dear," the maid said, opening the wardrobe. "It's stunning, you will look fabulous for hi...his majisty and her majesty."

"They should appreciate me for who I am, and how I feel. Thats how everybody's parents should be... full of support."

"They are full of support, thats why they organised this for you."

Runa sighed, looking towards the window. The skies, bright blue and highlighted by the golden white sun. Birds were flying through the clouds without a care in the world. They were lucky to be free. The maid was gettng impatiant, as she paced to the daydreaming princess.

"I am tiring of your attitude young lady!" Her stern voice angrily spoke, as she grabbed Runa's shoulders. Her grip was firm, with sharp nails digging into her skin. Runa was pushed into the wardobe, as the maid began to pull at the zip at the back of her green top. Runa gasped in anger as she twisted her leg around that of the maid, locking it in place as she pulled at Runa's zip.

"You are going to wear the white dress! You are going to wear the vail!" She shouted, grabbing Runa's top, pulling it over her shoulders. The maid quickly locked her waist, enabling Runa's movement.

"Why are you doing this?! What does it matter?!"

"Your parents are organising your marriage to Duke Virshru."

It had finally slipped. That is the reason her parents were acting so suspiciously, why the wedding dress was bought, and why they were trying to keep her away from seeing Vinaro, even though he was nothing more than her friend. She felt her freedom deteriate. No... she had to fight for he freedom. She held her breath, pulling her body downwards, so she was crouching on the floor. The maid's arms were now around her chest, still firmly holding.

"You can struggle all you want, you will just get wed beaten black and blue."

Runa scowled, arching her back, pusing her legs onto the wardrobe door, flipping her body over, eaving the maid startled on the floor.

"I'm not taking this lying down, I will forever fight for my freedom and for future."

The maid got up, sending a slap towards Runa, who kicked the maid in the stomach. She was winded. Runa could now make her escape. She grabbed her top from the floor, pulling it over her head and zipping up the back. Looking down at the maid, she noticed something hidden in her dress. Runa gave the maid a kick in the back, pulling out the hiding item... her staff. Runa grabbed it, the maid was hiding her lost item. She made her way out the door, shifiting through the hallway. She ran down the stairs, long and spiralling. The passage echoed, although Runa tried to minimalise sound, but it was hard considering she had to get out fast.

A messanger left the gates of the Lucian Capital. He was on his way to the Elfenian King, to ask him as a representative of Lucia to join them in the upcoming war. He rode a powerful stallion, one of the best in the the kingdom. In a matter of days, he would reach the Elfenian border and be taken to the Elvin King. A few hours behind him, a second messanger would be dispatched to report grave news.

The messanger was a knight-errant named Jecht. He was requested by the king to do this for him because of his famousness in the Elfenian realm. The tales of his travels were popular there.

It was dusk when he reached his destination. The horse whinnied as he stopped him. "Woah, boy. Woah." He calmed the animal down. He scanned the treeline, searching for any watchful eyes. He entered the forest, urging the horse on slowly. By nightfall, he met with the elves that served as guardians for their realm's borders. He told them of his urgent news and they took him to the king immediately.

It would take another several hours until he would meet the king and queen. Apparently he was busy with another. But, at daybreak, the Elf King called for his audiance.

Jecht entered the great halls of the king's throne room. He walked up halfway and then got on one knee and bowed his head. "M'lord." He began. "I have come on behalf of the Kingdom of Lucia." The king answered: " The entire kingdom? Well then, this wouldn't be about your war would it?" Jecht looked up, half shocked. "Yes, sire. The King would ask of you your allegiance." The Elfenian King's face stoic. The second messanger entered and told Jecht of the news he brought. Immediately, Jecht was in shock. Quickly afterward, he regained his composure and stood up, hands clutched tight. "M'lord. I have been given some grave news." Jecht paused. "The sister city of Zanar, Zanas, has been overrun by Valkyrian minotaurs. None have been spared." The queen gasped in shock. The king too was shocked. "That city was one of your kingdom's greatest, knight-errant. Even us, the great architects of the world, adored it. Very well, tell your King he has our allegiance."

Vinaro wept in pain, in the past few hours he had been thrown out of the Elfian lands and left for dead as he was wounded badly the Elves had stabbed him in warning he should never come back. He had tried magic, but it didn't work, He couldn't concentrate, too much pressure was on his mind. He sat in front of a small fire.

He held on to his weapons which had been dropped from the Elf which had stabbed him. He wielded them incase somone attacked him. He sat slumped by a tree, thinking of Runa and smiling. There friendship had started out bad but it developed into somthing Vinaro would never trade away. Memories of her were all he had left.

After the fire was extinguised by a cold gust of wind Vinaro lifted himself up, he searched for a few plants which would fight infection from the wound. He fount the plant Crelcicium, he tore it open and watched as a pale green juice came from it, he rubbed it on his wound and waited for the large amount of sting to be here.

Vinaro packed his stuff and moved on, away from his past, away from her.

Runa continued down the stairs, grabbing a black hooded and caped riding jacket from the coat hanger. Running down the hallway, she turned right into the courtyard. She was growing tired, but escape was important. She entered the field, where Obsidian, her jet-black horse was waiting. Vaulting on Obsidian's back, she rode out of the courtyard into the town. The towns people watched as the black-hooded horsewoman galloped through town. Identity unknown, some felt fearful of the presence, others merely concerned. Runa knew though, she needed to escape her home for her own freedom. Her sights, the deep and vast forest. An area of intense beauty, yet dangerous to the untrained and spiritually unawake. A place she could call home.

The traces of settlement were getting further away... she was running away from her fears, a thing which she found cowardly in many circumstances. However, she was having no regrets. She spent more time in the forest than her home anyway, it seemed much more natural. When she was younger, Elfini was a kingdom with great customs, festivals, and everybody lived closer to nature. Now, people were becoming more comfortable and cooped-up in their homes, loosing origin and spirituality. They all seemed... interdependant. She was glad she was leaving, although one thing remained in her mind. Her friend, who she turned to for companionship, or to help her when she was down, Vinaro. Her heart fell a little as she rode further and further into the woodland.
