Anyone a big chrono series fanboy like me? As far as i'm concerned, the chrono series puts Final Fantasy to shame. The originial was really groundbreaking for it's time, i mean time travel, come on now. It was crazy doing events in the past and seeing the outcomes in the future.Plus amazing graphics, multiple endings, a truely unique battle system. Also, it was one of the first collaborations between Squaresoft and Enix.
There's a reason why they called it's development team the "Dream Team". (comprising of Hironobu Sakaguchi, producer and creator of the Final Fantasy series, Yuuji Horii, director of the Dragon Quest games, Akira Toriyama, character designer for Dragon Quest and Dragon Ball, producer Kazuhiko Aoki, and Nobuo Uematsu, the composer of several games in the Final Fantasy series. Assisting the team were music composer Yasunori Mitsuda, who completed most of the score, and scenarist Masato Kato, who would later helm the game's sequels.) got that big shabang from Wikipedia
Then there's Radical Dreamers..a text based game never released in the US. Luckily for emulation there is an english translation. And although it may be boring, i have played through it and gotten every ending. Not really worth it unless you are really into the series
Chrono Cross is the latest game in the series. A lot of Chrono Trigger plans have criticized the game but i really love it. I might go as far as to say it's the best RPG on the Playstation. The battle system is great, the graphics are amazing and extremely colorful. Makes other rpgs look bland in comparison. Plus multiple endings and a truly gripping storyline. Did i mention 40+ characters and one hell of a soundtrack (especially for fans of Chrono Trigger's)
What's the future of the series though? I know Square applied for the name "Chrono Break" but they dropped the trademark later and there has been no news since.
