I see no reason why you shouldn't post in the CS thread. It's the official thread where contestants refer to their opponent's character profile. I never got to use Kai, since I created him for our 2v2 with the BoD. Besides, you may find yourself using the character again, for other purposes or reasons.

After I get confirmation from Tidus or Kura, I'll go ahead and create their sparring thread. It'll benefit me with practice in describing settings and such.

My character is still standing in our sparring thread, TGO. He's all alone..

Don't you mean SoM?
And why have The Masters been excluded? We could produce eight fighters if called upon, four's nothing

Nah, actually I excluded SotM since they don't seem to be very active. The 3-4 club tournament I had in mind involved SoI, BoD, the Masters, and maybe PK.

I did seem to catch the attention of the Moderates, though. I don't know if a four-man (or woman) team would be feasible from us. Granted, with Divi-Dead, OceanEyes28, Psiko, and DragonHeart, there's a team of four skilled RPBers right there... but the potential activity in a mini-tournament is where the question remains.

Since there still seems to be a thirst for a faction tournament of some kind, I was thinking we could perhaps maybe take two writers from each faction and make it into a small eight-person tournament, rather than a full sixteen? If this is just a mini-tournament to pass the time, having a full sixteen would really bring it into its own light. Not to say I would mind using the TOA forum to host such a tournament, but it could take two months to do so, cutting into time for the January TOA. (Keep in mind, the current one won't be over until the end of October; signups for the next one will be in mid-December.)

If we went with eight characters, it could be done in a month easily. Round one gets seven days to write, round two gets ten, and the final round gets fourteen. Shorter rounds than you'd see in an official Tournament of Arms, but again, if it's just something to pass the time... something to ponder, I suppose.

@Kaitou: Please, by all means go ahaed and create the sparring thread. It would be a good opportunity to see where I'm at in terms of RPBs.

On a totally unrelated subject, I am about to have two myth's that I have written returned. When I get them back I'll attach them to a message so that if you would like, you could read them.

@Loco: I'm all for it.

We should have a small vote for which two of us will participate. Let's not decide now, however. We'll wait till around the end of October, once everyone has developed and progressed.

@Tidus: I'll get right on it. Let's just hope Kura is still active. Also, I received your PM. I hope you don't mind if I quote you.

Many believe you should only judge someone by his or her character. Although I don't necessarily disagree, I believe a person's personality is reflected in the way they present themselves. For the most part, people choose what they wear, what they listen to, and so on. However, they cannot choose the color of their skin (generally speaking) or their ethnicity, and they should not be judged from that perspective.

EDIT: Created the RPB thread for Tidus and Kura. You may want to post your character in the CS thread before starting.

joining

1. Would you risk your life in order to save the life of another? yes. only if it was a close friend or family member

2. Are you okay with dedicating yourself to the club? (Does not apply to how much time you spend in the club, make sure that you participate in club discussion,RPs, etc.) yes. been wanting to get back into RPing any way. good way to start.

3. How often do you practice your religion? Never. not really religious.

4. Do you trust us that we will respect, understand, and learn from your beliefs? for the most part. some people can be a bit stubborn on some topics, though.

It's been about two years since I last RPed seriously, but my writing skills are still up to par, if not better. Tidus102 referred me.

Just returned yesterday from week long vacation to see that my fellow BoD members didn't see my challenge as something serious. I believe that is in part due to the fact that some believed that they would soon be starting fights with PK members and therefore possibly not find the time to participate in a 2v2 battle against your club as well, and in part due to the fact that some may not have seen that I was the one to issue the challenge. Therefore, leave it to me and I shall get one more member of my faction to join sides with me in this challenge. I may actually call upon someone with somewhat less RPBing experience, giving you guys a somewhat upper hand. We'll see though.

I do ask though if you could refrain from posting in our club until I give you the okay to do so in hopes of avoiding a repeat of the last incident. Sorry for the misunderstanding and I hope to meet you on the field of battle soon.

P.S.: I would completely refrain from accepting a challenge against you guys if a Masters member were to join. It is my belief that they are not a mercenary faction in anyway since they clearly represent a side and also have an organised ranking system within their club which would lead anybody to believe they are more a faction than a random recruitment office. A true mercenary is simply a soldier who recruits into another army for a while and thereafter represents no clear side until recruited again. Anyways, I don't challenge the SoI to suddenly also fight a Masters member. Not that I would fear that kind of fight but I would first challenge both clubs officially before doing so.

Hmm...where to start...

@Suzu: Now that you finally got pass your AOL obstacle, you should post in the club rather than simply editing the club's initial post. There are quite a few decisions to be made on your part.

@Deca: Welcome. Although it is Suzu's decision should you be accepted or not, he seems to be disabled at the moment, and I guess it's up to TGO and I to decide. And..I'll say you're in, unless TGO disapproves.

@Akira: About the whole 2v2 thing..

I dunno if it's official yet, but this mini-tournament should be enough. Of course, if you would like a 2v2 before this event, I'd be more than willing to accept. It could serve as practice for at least one of us.

Well, when I said I was thinking of taking eight writers and making a mini-tournament, that didn't mean in a 2v2 match with four writers in each match. The mini-tournament would be every man (or woman) for himself, just as a full tournament would. The catch is that it would only be faction members.

On the idea for discussion:
Quote:

A person's outward appearance, to me, shouldn't be a basis for judegement. I'm the smart guy who does well in school, but I listen to metal and other hard rock bands all of the time (System of a Down and Disturbed) (Pantera when I'm doing school work). I do know however that even if you don't believe that a person should be judged on their outward appearance, it is human nature to group other humans into categories in order to identify people they might have something in common wiht and therefore make connections.

P.S. this is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated, and I have myths available for view.

@Loco: Nah, I know how unpopular 2v2s are in these kinds of things. I simply meant the tournament should eliminate the need for the 2v2 we planned to have with the BoD. It also removes any concerns of 'hiring' any of the Masters as a mercenary force.

@Tidus: I do see your point. I have made it clear in the past that generalizing characteristics to groups as a whole is incorrect and should not be done.

..btw, I've noticed both sparring matches are rather..untouched. Also, the club's activity is once again minimal. Some things must be done. First, Suzu, you must get your butt back online. Second, we need to get TGO a laptop. Third, I need a hand-full of Kai clones to do my bidding. And fourth, we need something that will spark activity.

@Kai: Official calculations state that I'll be able to get a laptop somewhere around November. See, I'll have my 21st birthday that day, and my sister... I dunno if I mentioned, but I had 2 sisters, and one of them's still alive, so, she's technically my only sister, though I'll hold my eldest sister in my memory. Gosh, it's getting tough to actually state a difference. Anyways...my sister is willing to help with some of the costs, while I pay the bulk of the costs. I just have to be patient, though if I can actually get a credit card...

I'll try at some moment to post my character profile, and I'll try to explain some things from memory since I don't have the character sheet with me. Maybe tomorrow, as I will have enough access, but we'll be playing 'til midnight. Hard situation in that campaign, though I'm using another character...a gnome bard. I'll also fix some of the stuff he can make, to translate the character from his sheet into the fRPB realm.

BTW...I didn't answered in a whole week because I was getting involved in yet another D&D campaign. I tell ya, the whole thing sucks time and resources, but I shall try and get some extra Internet time to compensate. I hope...

@Akira: It's perfectly understandible that your faction isn't willing to accept our proposal. Simply put, if you don't mind, their...ahem..."bigotry" wouldn't allow them to face us. If you wish, Kai and I will still stand to face 2 of you guys, or maybe perhaps a fight between you and either of us 2. And, of course, I
