The youngest mother on record was a five-year-old Peruvian girl.

The U.S. press was also interested in this curious and disturbing story. A United Press report published in the Los Angeles Times on 16 May 1939 noted:
Dr. Hipolito Larrabure, head of the maternity hospital, who aided Dr. [Geraldo] Lozada [director of the Pisco Hospital] during the [Cesarean] operation, said Lina withstood the operation in excellent manner. Medical circles here were astonished at the birth, which they believed without precedent. Dr. Larrabure said the case was "truly astounding" and added that he hoped "some United States scientific foundation will send an investigator to Lima to observe the case and indicate the best manner of caring for the mother and child."4

At first I was think omfg Then I saw the pic the girl had boobes at 5 years old. Plus No girl is able to be Pregnant at that age. Well look for your self.just added WWW and you well have it.

I have no clue why you couldn't just post it like this. And the article says the father was jaled but released due to there not being enough evidence to prove so.

She looks like she's 10 or something. She's too tall to be 5, and plus she has boobs. No 5 year old girl would have boobs. She wouldn't have hit puberty nor would she be born with them.

I think it's fake. Seriously. Plus the photo itself looks fake.

At first thought, you would think this wouldn't be true, but who knows. Things like this do happen, and with this situation, it seems like a one in a million chance. I believe it could be true, and we can't toss it aside just because it's against science. There could be several reasons why this girl was able to concieve a child.

Are you kidding me? When a girl is pregnant, their breasts swell up with milk. Just her being 5 doesn't make there be a difference, unless I've been severely misinformed.

Now this is something along the lines of what I was thinking. It may seem very strange, but in a strange case, this could be plausible. However, how the conception of it happened is a different matter. Anyone who would get a child that young pregnant, whether meaning to or not...is just sick.

After re-reading all of this, I'm left to wonder if any of you even read the article. It states on the article that she had some kind of irregularity, causing her to have fully matured ovaries at age 5.

Shut up, Piro. If you had actually read the damn article you would have come across the fact that "A medical history revealed that she had been having regular periods since age 3, but that she had stopped menstruating for the past 7½ months. Additionally, she had fully developed breasts."

No, I didn't read the article. I didn't really have to. I skimmed it, sure, but I didn't fully read it.

How is an opinion valid when there is no support behind it? According to you, I could say that ice cream is made out of people, and when other members jump on me for saying I'm nuts I could just respond, "Hey, it's my opinion. No, I don't have any proof for my claim, and no, I did not read the information provided by the other members clearly stating that I was wrong, but it's still my opinion and you've gotta respect it."

Also, Piro, if you were paying attention, I directed the "stupid teenager" comment at robo_Kirby. Though it does still apply to you in that, much like your average teenager, you seem to believe that the entire world is entitled to hear your opinion, no matter how inane or misinformed it may be, and then feel the need to automatically dismiss any evidence your opponent may launch against you because you "don't agree with it" or "didn't have to read it."
