Your Throughts on Final Fantasy II " Dawn of Souls ". ( Spoilers Abound )

Hey Guys, what are your throughts on dawn of souls? to hard? to easy? My God i finally beat the crap out of the emperor at the end of ffII, the blood sword and Aura combo worked like a charm. Anyway after I beat the game I throught to myself: " Damn what a hard ass game that was! Is this it, or is there more? Well I got my wish, after the game ended I started " Souls of Rebirth " and I throught omg! It's Minwu! And as clueless as I was I wandered around and found Scott, Josef, and Ricard, and throught : Damn, this game is starting to get extremely interesting. But after i found them the game started getting extremely hard! I hope I can beat this game. My question is: Have you ever played this game? And if so how was it?

It was great until I got stuck...
I had to restart the game and play again because every one
was to weak and i ran out of gold and potions so I was screwed...
After the 2nd time i got bored and and angry that i had to restart.
On ffI i beat it with ease...sorta...

I've finished FFI(DoS version), it was way too easy and got quite boring about half way through, nothing was challenging about it, I didn't die once, I got stuck in a few dungeons sometimes but nothing bad. I personally prefer the NES version as it actually provides a challenge and makes you feel as if you've done something.

Yep. I have play it. And like every time, I tried to master it but gave up. But anyway...

So yes, I have play it. It is different than other FF's with weapon and magic upgrading. You didn't have classes or any lvls. You could choose what kind of character you wanted. Melee or Mage ? Dragoon or Master ?

But generally I didn't like it so much. I didn't like that lvls was missing, too many character that you can use only short time and long easy game. You alwayss knew where to go next and bosses were pretty easy.

And then, SoR was too hard with "low" lvl character. I had crappy Minwu and died to first battle. I think that it was made for characters that has good stats. Not crappy.

Still prefering classical lvl + some system.

I finished FFII Soul of Rebirth, with the first time I played it. At first it was difficult to get out of Raqia/Unknown passage, because mycharacters weren't exactly trained. At least my Ricard had more than 1000HP, and he could survive in the battles I had to do, until I could reack Machanon. Ultima Weapon, in the Tower of the Seal, was a really taugh opponent, and I had to train for a whole day, before I was able to beat him. Then I reach Astrobuth/Unknown Castle, through the last Warp Gate, but before I went to fight the light side of the Emperor, I searched the castle for the hidden rooms, so I found Minwu's Stardust Stuff, Scott's Wild Rose, Josef's Bracers and Ricard's Wyvern Lance, after beatin a boss for each of them of course. I also noticed that the light side of the Emperor was taugher than the dark side, but I managed to beat him woth the first time since all my characters in Soul of Rebirth, have 9999HP and 999MP.

As for FFII with Firion and his party, I liked it, and in some parts I thought it was difficult. I remember tooking me hours to destroy Dreadnough. The first time I forgot to save princess Hilda and Cid, and then, I did it, but there were difficult monsters inside it etc.

i think they made the DoS versions WAAAAYYYYYY too freakin easy. however - because of this they're really a blast to play through as fast as possible. it's worth it for the SNES style cut scenes.

any incarnation of FFI or FFII is going to be ****ing tops - as the music and atmosphere from those early NES games are incomparably magical.

FF1 on the NES was the most original one of all(DUhh) so I liked it most, Dawn of souls had a bunch of extras so I also finished that (they were nearly the same difficulity). Ive never played the DOS version.
FFII on the NES was better than it was on the GBA or Origins for me, but I did play the Dawn of Souls version and I didnt really like it.

I bought that GBA game, that had FF 1 & 2, i found 1 really boring, because its story line was strong in the beginning, but in the middle of the game, i just lost track of whatever was happening, so i just kinda....stopped.

FF2 was insane, i loved it, its story line was great, but it was a little too easy, i trained early in the game, got to like, level 20ish, and just started blasting through it, because i was gaining levels on the way, when i got close to the end, i was about lvl 80, so i just walked in on them...

The last time I checked FFII didnt use the leveling system.

Ya, It dosn't...Any way, As my first FF game that I owened it was pretty hard. I didn't know were 2 go and I get wiped out pretty fast. After I got used 2 it,it was pretty easy. In FF 1n, when u go 2 Choas shrine(strat of game)there are crazy horses and damn they are crazy. It killed my WM in 1n hit. As for 2, I didn't know that if u walk past Fynn wit all thoses strong monsters u die fast. In FF 1n, Deathgaze,Shinryu and Omega were REALLY tough the first time u fight them. In 2 the thing that kills me is the deathriders. I think overall, It was a great game that was 6/10 on the hard scale.

I played this game about 3 times and I absolutely hate it. I can not honestly say that I enjoyed this game. It wasn't the story that was fantastic but the way your characters got stronger was annoying as all hell. If your characters didn't get the crap beaten out of them in every single fight you had no chance of winning the game....still to this day i've never beaten the last boss.
