Chocobo Raising! Have You Picked Out a name?

Hey Guys What's up! As you guys probarly already know the day of chocobo raising has come at last! I finally got my egg yesterday and boy what a journey I've been through to get it lol ^^' Anyway back on topic, What methods are you going to do to raise your little bouncing baby chocobo? And have you picked out a name for it? I plan on giving my baby chocobo a good yet common name, and no not a name like " Bobby Carwin " lolz. So how do you plan to raise your little baby?

Just another thing Im missing out on >_> but if this is going to be anything like the fellowship quest, itll just die out soon once they reach a point and run out of ideas. I wonder when the colliseum is gonna be introduced.. As for chocobo raising, how does the name process work? Do you pick the name from a list, or can you name it what you want.. I hate the names they let you pick. I would name my chocobo either Magitek or Atma lol. When I come back to ffxi, I'll probably do the quest, but not put so much focus on it like the fellowship quest cause I'm disappointed they're not doing anything new to it. I spent a lot of time leveling up my NPC and getting her in identical armor, just to have an inventory space be taken up cause I hardly use my npc anymore.

Please spek for yourself, the fellowship thing is still used a lot by people and was a great addition, they just need to make some additions for it again sometime. Mine's level 62 now.

But nope, haven't thought of a name just yet. So far my egg hasn't broken or something, so I suppose it's still doing just fine.

yeah.. mines been 65 for months and I pretty much got tired of it. The only time I call it is when I used to camp Sozu Rogberry.. until I got my knife to drop. It was fun leveling it up, but there's not much else to do after it's capped and there's no more quests. It's cool seeing it do level 65 moves, but they pop them too random to be worthwhile :/ and I can't really SC well with mine cause she uses a GAX. I should've gave her a polearm.

Anyway...back on the chocobo raising subject (btw I use my adventuring fellow all the time cuz she kicks @$$). Yeah so my chocobo egg just hatched!!

I captured a short video using FRAPS of taking my baby chocobo for a short walk in west ronfaure. Very cute. Oh, I named my chocobo Brian Stardust. Seems like this could be fun

We'll see.

(yeah they did halfass job on the expansion of the npc, they should have made new quests for it after expansion)

My chocobo got out of its egg like 4 days ago, I called him "Easy Papa", sounded like a nice pimpin name for it, haha.
But I was out last 2 days, when I got back it was crying and stuff and hungry and weak, haha. Damn I'm not a good dad atm.

Oh btw, I finally figured out the point of all those care plans. I didn't realize at first that you could do more than one at a time. >< Yeah, so what have you guys been feeding your chocos? I'm really poor atm so I've been feeding him mostly just gysahl greens and sand'orian carrots. Though I did buy some veggie paste from a guy for 2k.

Hey guys! My egg finally hatched! It's a female, I named it " Snowangel ". Not the clever of names but hey it's cute for her. Can't wait til she grows older.

Hey I learned a story to tell my chocobo today, it is a key item of all things. The only thing is that it still won't give me the option of telling the chick a story as a means of caring for it. Anybody gotten far enough into their choco raising to know much about this yet?

Well I think I've figured out one thing as far as chocobo raising goes. Regarding competing against other chocobos, I'm not sure if your chocobo benefits more from it if he/she wins, but they key to winning seems to be feeding your chocobo Sand'Orian carrots. My chocobo's record so far is 8-1. The one time he lost I fed him herb paste, a vomp carrot, and wildgrass of some kind. Every other time he had eaten a Sand'Orian carrot. So if you want to make the other chocobo and its' three owners depressed just pick up a sandy carrot....not to mention they're cheap! Good luck and let me know if anybody else notices the same thing.

lol i love the idea of a personal chocobo i messed up when i was naming my chocobo (ceruleeSky) but it's green and i love that about it^^

O.o Damn man how did you get ahold of a green chocobo? Everybody I know ended up with yellow.....any idea how yours turned color?

hehe thanks^^ well i've only raised 1 which is my green one but i feed it everyday Azoury greens (the ones that are sour) and cared for it every day too. but im fairly sure i just lucked out

oh and my chocobo's competing thing is 15-1 if that matters

been vacationing for a while, but I put it in basic care and such, so tommorow when I get home I gotta check on it and feed it some more SandOrian carrots ^^
