These are always tough.

1) Iced Earth; a toss up between A Question Of Heaven and Phantom Opera Ghost.
2) Blind Guardian; Blood Tears
3) H.I.M.; Gone With The Sin
4) Kamelot; The Haunting
5) Demons & Wizards; Down Where I Am
6) Iron Maiden; Fear Of The Dark
7) Gamma Ray; Lake Of Tears
8) Judas Priest; Angel
9) Metallica; Dyers Eve
10) Helloween; Keeper Of The Seven Keys

Those may vary with time...

You sire, have good bands! But I am not to sure about the songs but anyway... this is going to take a while my list gets bigger and bigger everyday, I could write a top 10 for all my genres but anyway I am sure not much will be interest but for those that enjoy my music may find something of interest...

10) The Project Hate MCMXCIX - Weep
First of all I will start with something depressing (no not emo!) which really sticks to me. The lyrics in this song are quite amazing which I believe is trying to make even the happiest people cry, using a lot of Religious imagery this band in general is something quite evil and beautiful.

9) Emperor ~ I Am The Black Wizard
One of the songs that truely got me into Black Metal, the whole atmosphere is quite deep with both the lyrics and the music. This song has alone along with the rest of Emperors song's has influenced me in my writing on a large scale.

8) Storm ~ Nagellstev
Have a huge interest in the Vikings this song stands out to me. It is more like a chant with drums in the backround which gives a great impression of the Norwegian Vikings and gives me the feeling of them going to Battle.

7) Suidakra ~ Darkane Times
I haven't listened to Suidakra in a long time due to burning it off to CD but this song still stands out to me as being a epic peice of music. The drumming and the lead guitar on this sound quite amazing which made this a great song just to Headbang to drunk.

6) Chopin ~ Fantaisie: Impromptue In C Sharp Minor
There is something really calming about this peice, Chopin is an amazing composer and this peice has the perfect harmony of speed in a calm manner. I tend to put this on when I am quite tense and it relaxes me quite well.

5) Ensiferum ~ Lai Lai Hei
Not only is this band quite "Catchy" if you will but their lyrics are quite epic and captivating. This song in particular is one of those which I guess you can say makes me want to sing to a whole crowd even though I can't.

4) Burzum ~ Lost Wisdom
Starting from the intro this song is something I quite enjoy, its not exceptionally perfect in the sense of what most people consider and if he spent a bit more time it could of been, but thats what makes BURZUM so Magikal in my opinion.

3) Icelandic Folk Songs ~ Litfrid Og Ljoshaerd.mp3
Again starting from the begining this song captivates me and as it moves on to quite a soft sound it is quite enjoyable to listen to. The Vocals are soft for a guy but still move through my song. Truely a something that I really enjoy listening to which has a beautiful ambience.

2) Tenhi ~ Lauluni Sinulle
This song may seem quite calming at first but as it goes on it shows reveals a darker side of folk music. The music is simply breath taking and gives a feeling of some kind of forgotten mystery. The vocals are slightly heavy with that epic tone to it which intrigues me. This reminds me of the softer side of Opeth which is quite beautiful and dark.

1) Dawn ~ The Knell and The World
Without a doubt this is my favourite song of all time, so hatefull, so evil, so epic, so emotional, so raw yet melodic, just such an amazing peice of work. If I had to label a song as being perfect this song would be it. From the angelic howls at the begining to the gut wrenching guitars, the pounding drums to the most intense Black Metal Vocals this song in my opinion is something to truely behold. This song really speaks to me somehow and the pure hateful energy runs through me as I watch this pitiful world of misery. I will never get bored of this song.

Whoa I have a lot but where should I begin, maybe from the beginning (duh) XD ok so:

1.) Stolen- Dashboard Confessional
Reason: It is sad I know, it reminds me of Cor most of the time, he was always playing it on his CD player, he once said it was his fav. song =( life is a bitch and well it it really cute and exactly just my type

2.)Deceipher Reflections From Reality- Play Radio Play!
Reason: I just love the way that they sing it, so cute I like the songs that are that type of calmed, yeah I do like more moves songs but that is just my daily morning song, yeah I turn on my iPod and it is right there on my favourites, the first one I listen to every single morning, no kidding.

3.) Army of two-Dum Dums
Reason: Favourite song since I heard it from one video of Queer as Folk(Michael and Brian) and I like it because it is really sweet when I think of it as two best friends instead of a girl and a guy.

4.) I write Sins not Tragedies- Panic! At the disco
Reason: What can I say I have a crush on P!ATD, I love their video it is just plain awesome! I like their song, just as simple as that.

5.)Make Damn Sure- Taking Back Sunday
Reason: Well besides that Adam looks like a god on the video and sings like an angel I like the song, what the hell, I LOVE THE SONG. I like the chorus, yeah some of you might call it emo and all but I like that type of songs when they get all excited and start screaming, it is the beauty of life ^_^.

6.)Malchik Gay- TATU
Reason: Reminds me of my friend Steve. Why? I admit it, I had a big crush on him years ago but now that passed by, yeah it reminds me a lot of him because Marcia and I used to sing it to him and Jimmy, Marcia to Jimmy and me to Steve, fun days.

7.)Cheated Hearts- Yeah yeah yeahs
Reason: It makes me happy! I start dancing in my room and singing it with my hair brush and I also sing it in the shower when I hear it from across the room, with the sponge XD Im so lame, I do the same with the song...

8.)Dancing in the moonlight- Toploader
Reason: Well same as above

9.)Lets get married-Archie Star
Reason: Same as before, Steve and I used to sing it a lot on the malls, and it was the fun days when everybody thought we were boyfriend/girlfriend, I had fun so thats why it is my fav.

10!!!)Ohio is for lovers- Hawthone Heights
Reason: Jimmy sang it to me one day on stage and I felt special, haha I had such a fun time, he wasnt that a great singer but hey! He did great so I think of my best buddy.

Since I base my taste on what I like at the time, I'll post my favourite bands/artists and songs of the moment.

(Not in any type of order.)

Clutch - A Shogun Named Marcus.
It's a Japanese based song with a great vocalist. Not even rezpek out to da Clutch.

Strapping Young Lad - AAA.
This song is like an aural orgasm. Seriously. I love this band.

Iced Earth - Watching Over Me.
This song reminds me of a good friend of mine. It makes me very emotional, but it has a nice sound to it...

Evanescence - My Immortal.
I know. Call me lame if you want, but this song is beautiful. Amy Lee has a great voice and although their image is kind of gay, this song still rocks.

Lacuna Coil - Enjoy The Silence.
This song rocks purely for the lyrics. There's a lot of truth behind them, surprisingly.

Ayreon - Day Eight: School.
I'm obssessed with this track right now. It's a good song with great vocalists.

Fear Factory - Archetype.
I like the lyrics and the "melody" to this track. Some cool stuff.

Cannibal Corpse - Orgasm Through Torture.
Some hilarious lyrics here, but more or less the tune really gives me a kick.

Chimaira - The Impossibilty Of Reason.
Another major kick out of the tune. Not sure, I just adore this song, expecially the chorus.

Anaal Nathrakh - The Oblivion Gene.
I love this song. The tune is another of those ones you can listen to get a kick from.

I'm not so great a t giving lengthy details right now. I feel sick as shit.

Looks like a lot of people here like good bands but doesn't listen to anything by them besides what the radio plays, dig deeper than darkside and the hit singles, man, Floyd does some incredible stuff that surpasses what the radio stations have the capability to air, and Hendrix himself hated the hell out of Purple Haze.

This list isn't neccessarily in order, band-wise, I mostly chose this list by favorite songs.

1. Yes - Gates of Delirium

Arguably, the pinnacle of Yes' innovation. This, and the entire album of Relayer, is as if they took Close to the Edge and replaced the cosmic theme with pure insanity. Anybody who hasn't listened to progressive rock, this will blow your mind.

2. Grateful Dead-Dark Star.

The typical closed-minded fool would dismiss them as a simple folk or country band upon first hearing their rendition of El Paso or something of the sort, but The Dead were much more than that. In the 60's and early 70's they completely tore this song apart,
