Devil Sold His Soul: Fantastic band from the uk. Amazing tracks up on their Myspace, have a look. Anyone else have any UK bands they think are amazing? http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...iendid=6079421 EDITED BY TACO: I'm going to edit the title of this thread to "Worthwhile UK Bands" to lessen the possible confusion. I hope you don't mind... ![]()

| | Skyclad is probably the best band to come from the UK in general, releasing MANY quality albums while they still had their frontman Martin. Now without him and with a new guy, they are taking the music in a different direction, that is still very good. http://www.skyclad.co.uk/

| | Personally I think Skyclad should just have called it a day when Martin Walkyier left. You can't really replace someone with his lyrical talent and charisma, and "A Semblance Of Normality" was bland at best. Might be because the lyrics were such a vital part of Skyclad's appeal to me though. Kevin Ridley failed to deliver in that aspect. Skyclad was fantastic when Walkyier was still in the band though, among the best UK bands along with Pagan Altar and Black Sabbath. | ||||||||

| | I love muse, the stereophonics, The kooks AND the strokes. All from the UK and ALL great bands. I have to say I think Britain has some of the best music.

| | Musa already said it..... Pitchshifter. I first heard them many years ago while playing Twisted Metal 4, and they blew my mind. P.S.I is like a dropkick to the head. Very loud, yet a very clean sound. The songwriting is so-so, but the songs are laid out so aggressively you tend to forget about it..... Yeah. Pitchshifter. Rock on.

I really like the band New Order. They're electronica with some synths from the 80's. They did my favorite song, "Bizarre Love Triangle," which has been covered numerous times now. They went a long time without a new album, but recently they've been putting out new stuff. I also like Erasure and The Pet Shop Boys (the last would go under "bands you are embarrassed to admit that you like"... heh... )Lessee... Devil Sold His Soul... "Like It's Your Last," minute and a half of a kind of repetitive guitar intro... finally gets into some hard rock and screaming... "Cloud," more repetitive guitar playing for a minute at the beginning, followed by some more screaming vocals. Sorry dude, not my cup of tea. Right off the bat, though, I think I like Pitchshifter a lot. Anyhoo... I can't really say I know a lot about new UK stuff... although there are probably certain bands I've heard and liked that I didn't know were from the UK. So... anyhoo... Wuv, Yer Mom

| ...Shocking... heh... | I like too many UK bands! I'd best group them to explain them rather than writing a page of waffle nobody woud want to read! Oasis, Blur, Stereophonics, Stone Roses, Radiohead, Pulp, Suede: I grew up with these bands. They made growing up in the 90s worthwile, when there was an aweful lot of bands like Boyzone and Spice Girls around. With a mum who listened to these, I turned out right! Oasis and Blur are the main two I grew up with. Muse Really interesting music, with Matt Belemy having one of the most distinctive voices ever, with his amazing falsetto. Their music is really unique and never bores me. Iron Maiden The greatest guitar solos I have ever heard come from these guys. The singing talent is amazing too. Franz Ferdinand, The Futureheads, Maximo Park, Boy Kill Boy, Kaiser Chiefs, Editors, The Automatic, Arctic Monkeys All completely different bands, but those played in the indie clubs. All are original and often dancable too without the cheesiness (well... Monster by The Automatic is cheesy) and is done by real people wih real instruments. The Arctic Monkeys have a bit of an over-rated hyoe which has unfortunately covered them and they became too popular too quick, but I still like their music. The Futureheads have some spikey, edgy stuff, and some softer stuff. Franz, Maximo, Kaisers and Automatic are fun to listen to. Editors are one of the any time, any place bands. Kasabian Relaxing psychadelic music which remains great instrumentation which fits in harmony with the singing. All are really upbeat, even though some are more relaxed than others. And KuroTenshi, The Strokes are American, not British.
