I need Help

Im stuck on fighting the Ark on the....... i think its the 3rd disck. Im in the Forgotten Contenent. The Characters I picked to come with me is Zidane (of course) Garnet, Vivi and Steiner........ So can any one give me tips on how to defeat him? Thanks

Thats the place where you can't use any magic right? Well you probably shouldn't have taken vivi or garnet I made the mistake the first time I played it. Anyways first of all make sure all your characters have equppied the clear headed abilty to stop arks special move from causing confusion. If you haver it equip a healing rod on garnet so she can heal other party members by attacking. Try and fill Zidane and Steiners trance gauge up high enough so they both enter trance to achieve maximum damage(If this isn't possible concentrate on Steiners as his doesn't cost mp.) Make sure steiner and Zidane have the mp attack ability equppied because it will cause more damage. Finally have Vivi and Garnet as healers,remember if you have enough of one gemstone,say 30+ eg ore than you heal a lot of hp.

Id have to disagree with the last person responding to this, true you cant use magic but its for the other party, not the one fighting the huge ship, keep garnet healing of course and as well as zidane everynow and then, plus when i beat him i had used vivi's and steiners like fire sword and the combo moves, do the most damage, it takes a while, but ya picked a good group to go down there, though wish ya the best of luck, o and use zidanes trance after building it up by being attacked if ya need him to heal

when i beat the ark everyone, meaning freya, amarant, and steiner, execpt zidane were dead, and i didnt have clearheaded ability, so like every 3/4 turns zidane had he was confused and/or had to heal. the battle took like and hour and a half or something. but i wont eventually. so sometimes the ark just takes some luck

You can't use magic in Oeilvert. Equip clear-headed(if you can), have Freya jump a lot. make Amarant throw stuff at him and make Zidane attack and steal. Heal when neccescary and it'll be easy.

Also if you are still having trouble - just level up a lot. There is a moogle nearby who sells cool stuff 4 ur characters.
