Anybody ever receive those E-mails from people claiming to be foreigners and asking for your finiancial aid in some way which is supposed to get you some form of financial gain yourself?

I get them every now and then. They never cease to amuse me. I got one just last night, and out of my boredom I have decided to humour them.

This guy e-mails me saying he's in Egypt on asylum (though his e-mail address is polish) and states that he would be interested in starting a life in "Your country" and would like some financial contribution towards this.

I replied:

Hi there.

It's nice that you show an interest in my country. Here in the proud nation of my country we gladly welcome outsiders. My government I believe will be very supportive, it's what puts my country on the map.

I may be in a position to help, but first of all, what is it about my country that you like? Have you been to my country before and what locations of my country would you be interested in?

It would be great to do business with you, please respond as soon as you can!

Hahaha, that's hilarious. Mainly because no matter if he replies or not, you won't be giving him money anyway.

I've had a few of these. And I get chainmails about poor families -- well... Not so much anymore. My email filters are pretty amazing.

Nice reply to that guy, though. It'd be even better if he sent you an email back.

What I hate is how my spam blocker has been acting up and certain e-mails have benn getting through. I especially hate one in particular, "Why I like Sasami" Everyday I'm getting posts from some forums thread sent to me by email about an anime character and I don't know why.

edit: It has been brought to my attention that the soiling may not have been caused by previous discussed laughter but may have had something to do with my lack of control over bowel movements.

I have gotten an e-mail from someone claiming to be the UK lottery. Apparently, my e-mail alias (Phoenix Blaire) sounds British to them or sumfink. /Damon Albarn impression

A week later, I got one from a EU lottery, both claiming that I had won millions. I kept waiting for them to sat "all I need is your credit card number/bank account number. Wanker."

...which is why I didn't answer them, though I find it hilarious that I "won 5 Million Pounds". e-mail spam is so annoying, but funny sometimes.
