which computer game would you say has the best sound track?

hey i was just wondering what evryones favourite soundtrack to a computer game was on any console if i had to choose i would say final fantasy vii for the playstation, Chrono trigger a classic pc rpg and also just for the one song i would have to say the original street fighter for the arcade just for Kens' stage. Feel free to post on this thread would like to see other peoples taste in game music

all the final fantasy games have great music tracks, but i alos like start ocean 3 music and all the .hack games.

Diablo II has a great score, especially the expansion music for act 5.

As one might expect, I think the best series for music has to be Silent Hill. Akira Yamaokay, the music composer for Silent Hill uses different types of stringing and record sounds as well as piano themes that have the ability to make one feel somewhat emotional just by listening to it.

The best GAME, though, would have to be Silent Hill 2.

The reasons for this is because of Promise [Reprise], True and the other piano and guitar themes that have a beautiful, yet haunting sound to them.

Other games with good music is Final Fantasy IX, Parasite Eve II, Tomb Raider 3 and 4, the rest of the Silent Hill series, Resident Evil and Koudelka. Although I still think Silent Hill is better than all of them.

Computer wise I don't know but I guess I will say Age of Empires II which is indeed quite good. Its fairly basic kind of folkish music which goes well with the game.

Videogame wise Final Fantasy IX is a definate winner for such a good OST, also all the Silent Hill peices are quite amazing. I quite liked the music from God of War as well, but it can be quite intense at times which sidetracks me. Also even though I don't like techno kind of music I found the music to R&C quite interesting to listen to. Overall I would say FFIX though for obvious reasons.

Shadow Hearts I&II: Great music, very different, sometimes a bit spooky, sometimes downright strange, some chinese influence thrown in there, very energetic; great use of percussion, what's not to love?.

Xenosaga I: A score of cinematic proportions, lots of orchestrated goodness, even a couple of opera-style themes, very, very nice, the first time I heard the OST, my jaw dropped; I wish they could have kept the original composer; Mitsuda for Xenosaga II

FFVII: Every song is memorable, distinguishable from the rest and fits every different mood in the game to a T, given that this is music with the obvious limitations synthezided music has, it couldn't be any better.

FFIX: What can I say, well, other than it being a very sweet, mellow OST.
I just love it, I know many people considers it to be the worst of Uematsu's efforts and I know that he was very tired and very hurried in this particular project, but, I love it, any ways, maybe because of FFIX being my favorite FF.

Shadow Hearts had okay music. Way better then Koudelka.
If i was going to choose a favourite. It'd be Star Ocean II: The Second Story.

Well I have to agree that FF always has the 1st place in music and ofcorse its not the only good game with an awesome soundtrack.
Diablo 2 - I love the guitar music, aspecialy in the Rogue camp-first place
Hilent Hill - No need for an explanation Akira Yamaoka is THE genius in music
Fable - nothing out of ordinary but stil very good

The Final Fantasy soundtracks are always wonderful, they would probably be my favourite. The soundtracks for Grand Theft Auto are always great, only because they play a lot of classic songs. Kingdom Hearts soundtrack is pretty good too, they play a few Disney songs that I remember from when I was younger. Ah, the memories lol.

I always thought that Final Fantasy VI had the best soundtrack. Most of the music in that is beautiful and I really love to hear it. The music played at the opera is my favourite.

Final Fantays alwys has a very memorible and suiting soundtrack,Kingdom Heartsalso has nice soundtrack but since it's both Nobuo id say Nobuo R0XX1

I would say FinalFantasy VII,KingdomHeartsI & II and also SilentHill.
FinalFantasy:awesome all around just very great.
KingdomHeartsI&II:also very great realy good music to listen to.
SilentHill:awesome in a spooky creepy way.Very cool.
