Will they change ffIII?

It looks like the upcoming remake of final fantasy III has been completely toned up to suit the power of the system which supports it. I was told the characters would have more dialogue and a few things would be added but will they completely change the story and feel of the original just to suit the consumers? I hope not because this is the only ff I have not played and it would ruin my ffIII experience if they changed it.

If someone could inform me I would appreciate it.

Yep, it's pretty much being completely changed. What were generic characters before, are now becoming full-fledged characters with persoanlities and designs. You start as all four characters in the original, and in this version you have just one character and you get the others later.

I know it's quite a change, I understand what you mean, but I like the effort they're putting into it. Maybe they'll be a hard/classic mode more tailored to the original.

I don't think they're going to completely change the game. Most of the story and world will likely remain unchanged.

Fleshing out the characters is a good thing. The original game had pretty much no character development.

I know but I want the original experience even if its crap. Like they did with ff1 an 2.

There are fan translations available of the NES version. Unless you speak Japanese that's probably as close as you can get to the "original experience".

Hey!@...the simple fact is that we didn't even get FFIII......so Hey, I'm glad to be getting somethign this time......unless they don't release it in Austraia!....Then I'll be mad!!!.....and making a new American friend with postage stamps!!!!

i checked out the first like 5 minutes of the game on IGN - what was shown was EXACTLY the same as the NES game, the only difference being there was only 1 character in stead of 4. but the musical queues, the dungeon design, and the battles we all the identical from the NES version that i own.

i can only assume the dungeons, world map, and core story progression (while maybe spiced up) are pretty true to the original game. of course this is all speculation.

in the remake they will make better graphics, the story will have the same base, but there is a lot of more dialouge in it. the game will be very close to the same as the original i think.

Not everything is getting changed, the music from the NES version still remains, along with nearly all of the character classes. Hopefully there is more dialogue, it's just what we need.

They're also adding a new NPC, can't remember her name though...

That actually wouldnt be a bad idea. At least for us people that have never played the original version of it at all.

Anyways back to topic. I really don't think it changed completely at all. Sure graphics have improved, and maybe the storyline, but overall I think it'll be somewhat similar to the original one.
