(North American) FFII VS. FFIII

I argued, I searched, I found, I post. PLEASE, whoever reads this, all opinions count!

I got in to an argument with a friend the other month. We argued over which game was better(North American releases), FFII or FFIII. If there is an ultimate answer, I will make a decision from answers given on this thread.

I believe FFII is the best ever. I have only played that one, and it seems simply too good to be contested. I have tried to get my hands on a FFIII, but have had no luck.

My friends states that FFIII is the best installment ever. But HE has not played FFII!

So for my "Final" decision, please help me out here. Which one is it; FFII or FFIII?(I can't take anymore of this! I've been trying to sleep with no success, for a few months now)

All your information will be much appreciated,

Joey K.

So you both have not played the other game. Gee. How biased of your opinions. And lacking of information, too.

Maybe you should instead of finding 3, find 6. Get out your playstation and find FF Anthologies. Should be easier to find.

Having played both, I have to say FF6 is the better one, even though FF4 comes in at a close second. They're both equally great in terms of story and characters.

For simplicity reasons I will call them FFIV and FFVI, I hope thats right as I never played the "North American" versions.

Simply put I am going to say FFIV, for several reasons; Firstly it is a challanging game, FFVI is too easy and is the only FFVI I've been through in less than a week (sure I could go through the first 2 FFs but I got sidetracked at the time). FFVI is overrated by the Old School crew I bet the game once and nothing brought me back. Actually I didn't go through IV again but thats cause I have other games I want to play.

Story wise I feel both are quite good, 4 was more of an Epic adventure where as 6 was more of a war story. Gameplay wise 6 had a fairly decent battle system but it felt like so much more could of been done. As for 4 it was quite basic but it made it quite a challange. Also the biggest thing I feel is even going through 4 multiple times it will still be challanging and a game to figure out new ways where as 6 is lacking.

That is just my opinion, 6 fans please do not get over-emotional

EDIT: Oh and 5 is better than both of them <3 the job system

Flo is a n00b - (lv 0)
I've played both and I much prefer Final Fantasy II (4j).

That said, you can't have looked very hard if you've been trying to locate Final Fantasy III (6j) for months. The PS1 version can be found on ebay, the SNES version is harder to locate unless you're willing to play on an emulator, in which case it should be pretty easy.

Final Fantasy VII is the best. I've been able to replay that game and still find it fun.

EDIT BY CAIN: Try Reading the topic title, this is concerning FFII and FFIII us (otherwise known as FFIV and VI)
