Game characters that remind you of yourself?

I was thinking lately, as I was playing Silent Hill 2, about how much a character in the story reminds me of myself.

So lets talk about this, huh? Have you ever played a game, where a character reminds you of yourself? How about a non-playable character? How about a character whose past reminds you of yours, etc? Know of any characters that remind you of a family member, or a friend?

These characters can be from any game and you can choose as many characters as you want. However, please give us a few lines on why the characters you choose remind you of yourself/your family member/friend.

As for myself...

James Sunderland - Silent Hill 2
I feel a reminder of myself when I think about James. He's been through emotional breakdowns, something I have also experienced, and he has suffered death of a close person. James sees the world as a grating pit of nothingness after his wife dies from a terminal illness, and I feel, although I haven't experienced the exact same things, I can relate myself a lot to him.

Mary Shepard-Sunderland - Silent Hill 2 (non-playable character.)
Yeah, James' wife. Although you don't get to play her as a character, or see her throughout the game, a lot of her personality was released from Konami. She had a negative outlook on the world and had grown bitter because she knew her life was going to end too soon. In the final stages of her illness, she grew to accept the fact that she was dying, and although not feeling she was truly ready to die, knew it was what was to come. I think I relate to her on her negativity. She always seemed to think James didn't love her because of her illness, but in thinking this, felt irritated at herself.

i remind my self of rinoa heartly from ffVIII because i am very caring i love helping people out.

and rikku from ffX and ffX-2 because im really fun to be around, ill help u out, andi can make anyone laugh just by sayins some thing

I don't know if any video game character really reminds me of myself, per se. There are some characters I relate to more than others, and in particular:

Koops, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door: kinda nerdy koopa troopa out to prove himself to his family and friends. Although I used him more towards the beginning.

Cait Sith, Final Fantasy 7: Goofy character, who no one is completely sure why he's there, and who no one really cares is there, unless he hurts himself so they can laugh at him. (As described by my friends as we were walking along one day, and I tripped, and they laughed at me. Circa 2003; they've said I've gotten to be more than that, now. Kinda "proved" myself.)

That's all I can think of right now, although I always relate best to my favorite characters, and see them as representing me, because I like them the best, probably... Anyhoo...

I remind myself of the great Sephiroth from FFVII. I am crazy as hell, and I am not affaid of anything. Plus I have his sword hanging on my wall.

Squall from Final Fantasy VIII. We are both pretty whiny idiot ****tards who don't really care to do anything. Back when I had longer hair, I was told that I looked a lot like him.

Other than him, I doubt any single character could capture my personality in such a way that I could compare myself to them. I am the most complicated and lovely of individuals that comparing myself to another person would be an act of degradation and I would not like that very much.

Or, you know, something both egotistical and retarded like that.

Aya Brea - Parasite Eve II.
She's pretty smart and she cares a lot about her friends. She knows the mission she faces is really important and she's fair and treats her job with complete respect. She also has hair how mine used to be, except hers is blonde...Yes. That's the shittest reason EVER.

When I play Final Fantasy VIII sometimes, Selphie seems to remind me of myself at times. I'm probably not as hyper as her but I get pretty happy about things and I can get a bit over excited.

I suppose I'm sort of like Yuna as well, she cares for everyone and loves to help. I like to help out with things and... yeah!

I've been told i'm a lot like Serge from Chrono Cross......i'm really silent and yet always willing to help people out. apparently we also dress the same?...i dunno that's just what i've been told =P
