Well it depends on how big of a deal the situation is.

Lets say I am in a room with many girls of various ages, on of whom has a baby. All the girls will, of course, go around the baby and say the dumbest things with their extra high pitch voices. I, and any other guy for that matter, would be driven crazy and out of the room. I might talk to a friend later about it and say "Dude today I got stuck in a room with 10 women and a baby bla bla bla...and they were all so damn annoying!" Well that would be talking behind their back, saying they're annoying, but I'm not gonna go up to all of them and say "What the hell is wrong with you people, you're all so annoying, stop it!" That would be unnecessary and a waste of time.

But lets say I am at shool and a bully is hazing me. If all you did was talk behind his back then you wouldn't get much done. But if you said "Hey, dumb ass, what's with you hazing me all the time. Lay off because I'm this close to sticking my boot in your ass" then he might actually lay off ... or kick your ass.

I guess the most important thing is that you don't talk behind anyone's back who you would not want to hear what you have to say about them, especially your friends. Because once it gets to them what you've said will sound ten times worse because people like to exagerate things to make a better story.

Should this be in the I.D. forums? Anywhoooo, I'll say talking behind their back is worse. If I hate someone, that someone knows I hate that someone... if that makes any sense at all...

i think that talking behind someones back is really bad because people could hear you and then twist it and then somehow it gets back to him so yeh its better to talk to someone it there face insted of bitching about them behind there back

I prefer to get told to my face if I am being a bitch. Becuase if it keeps getting avoided it usually bows up into something bigger. I tell it like it is, and I play on my stereo types a lot. Because I am okay with them now. Wanna call me a slut..do it...I think it is ****ing halarious...want to call me a bitch..good we can work on it. That is just the way I am. Talking behind my back an lying is the lowest form of descency. If you were right then you would have to hide it. An if they were your friends you would say it. I would rather be friends with someone honest then a liar.

At the same time, I may rant and rave and be all bitchy behind someone's back, usually with the intention of telling them they're being an asshole later. Unless they can't handle it, then I will either rant and rave to people who have no idea who I'm ranting about or people I an actually trust to keep their damn mouths shut.

Talking behind people's backs is for little pussies and high school girls. I'm neither. If somone's a problem, I'll have them know it. If they don't like it, tough shit.

I'm sure people talk about me behind my back, but it doesn't really phase me. The one thing that pisses me off more than anything is when people boldface lie to you. Pretending to be your friend while holding the knife behind their backs. I may not be proud of a lot of things I've done, but if somebody has a problem with it or me, then they should say it to my face, not talk shit about me when I'm within earshot.

Likewise, if people tell me gossip, I'll listen to it and keep note of it, but not spread it, unless it's vital that I do so.

I guess if were honest, most people cant help gossiping a wee tiny bit about people they know, but conciously saying nasty shit about someone behind their back is so muggle. it's different if someone you like is like mega fat or sumthin and they ask you if their fat and you say dont be silly course you're not fat and afterwards you say to yourself "man, that is one big fat stack of crap" then you're just sparing someones feelings. but if theres someone you don't like pretending to be nice to them then bitchin about them is pretty crappy.

p.s i think pretending to be nice to someone you know is a **** in order to steal their weed is quite funny. but you have to let them know you hate them afterward to cleanse yourself of the feelin of two facedness.

I say what I say it's the truth and sometimes people don't like the truth. We are in a world which people thinking is in the gray area. Nothing black and white here. It's 2am I'm so tired here......

I think talking behind someone's back is worse because it is hurtful and upsetting and not very nice. They rather u tell it to their face that is what i would do.

It's better to say it to their face. It hurts twice as bad when when people say mean things about you when you're not around and usually have to hear it from other people. If you have a problem with someone, just tell them and it'd be easier to solve the problem, and others don't have to know everything wrong about the other person.

It's not good to talk behind someone's back no matter what.I've done it to other people and it comes back and hits me in the face.Trust me,talking about other people leads on to a lot more things.I suggest to refrain from doing it and just bite your tongue.
