How can I get my hands on these?

I just found a copy of FF1 for NES about a week ago, but my nintendo's red light is flashing so i have to get that fixed before I can play it. But does anyone know where I can get FF2 and FF3? (even 4,5,6) thanks

FFII and FFIII for the NES are Japanese-only, so unless you have a Famicom and can read Japanese, you won't have your hands on the NES cartridges any time soon.

FFII was released alongside FFI in the Origins compilation for the PSX, as well as a more recent Dawn of Souls compilation for the GBA.

FFIII has NEVER been released outside of Japan, but there will soon be a completely remake 3D version of the game for the Nintendo DS, for all languages.

It really is just a matter of preference. Both of them are easier than the original titles, but Dawn of Souls has an extra dungeon after the game, so you may wish to go with that title, just for the extra content.

...upset or not, that's a highly spammy post. I hate it too, but if you don't have anything more to say, you could have just avoided posting altogether. Just keep that in mind in the future.

There's probably a perfectly legitimate reason as to why it never made it overseas, but it's definitely not because it's a bad game. As a matter of fact, I'd say the third is my favourite out of the NES titles, even with a mildly decent ROM translation.

Personally, I think it's somewhat of a bastardization of the the game by what they're doing with it for the DS, but ehh, when it's all said and done, they won't really be the same game.

To quote another thread about FF3...

Okay, so FFI comes in America and everyone likes it.

By the time they are ready to send another to America, IV is out, so they send IV to America calling it II to avoid confusion of wandering where the others are.

Soon, they send FF6 over and to once again, avoid confusion, it was titled 3.

Up until recently: 2,3,5 were not available in the US.

2 was sent in a PS1 and GBA package with 1,

5 was in a PS1 package with 6,

And now III is finally coming out on its own fpr DS.

This was all changed because when VII was set to America, they changed the name.

So, Square fixed the problum and now 6 is 6 in both countries but it was 3 back in the SNES days.
The question had already been previously asked as to why the US 3 was not the same as the Jap 3 on this thread.... Final Fantasy III?.
And there you have it!

I think that it is lame that they are totally revamping III for DS. I hope they include the original III (as in IIIj) in the game as well.

I wasn't horribly dissapointed with the difficulty of Final Fantasy Origins.

I found the NES version very difficult, Dawn of Souls too easy, and Origins to be the equal difficulty of the later FFs (aka not easy, but not hard either).

Anyways, back on topic, Final Fantasy III (as mentioned before) will be released for the DS with PS1 era graphics:

http://www.rpgamer.com/games/ff/ff3d...s/ff3ds038.jpg

Don't get your hopes up for the last one. It was an FMV.

All questions were answered, so I guess it's time we shut this puppy down or let it sink to the abyss of threadness.

EDIT: Moondancer, can you requote that? I just corrected my spelling errors in that thread.
