Ladies and gentlemen, I give you this! I stumbled across speculation that Harry himself will die in the seventh and final book in the Harry Potter series. Although it is confirmed that TWO main characters will die, no names will be released I'm sure. Damn, now I want that book to be out! http://msnbc.msn.com/id/13558242/?GT1=8211 Any thoughts on who could be killed in this final book?

936 | Bleh saw this on an lj community...I hope he dosen't but I can understand why she might kill him off,so other authors don't write sequels to the books.Which I do support but I really don't want the series to end anyway.I am saddened

7,690 | Blah, I remember reading the first four books when they all came out. Over time, I lost interest. I don't care if Potter dies, in fact, kill him off! I'll buy the book just to skip the beginning and read about his death. ^_^ I've heard this other places before as well...from fans, etc.

380 | Snape is almost ascertained to die, all that blahblah revenge Idea. I swear i read somewhere that Ron will die sad but true, but i may be wrong, and I WANT Luna dead. If Harry dies stops pointless spinoffs and is a fitting ending, but waits to be seen.

125  | I have not heard to much about this but I know my literature and in this instance and the way the story has unfolded this far, I don't believe Harry will be one of the people killed. The ending would not fit with the tone of the previous volumes and would be contrary to the mood of the story. It is more likely that it will be Snape and someone whom Harry holds dear, sort of the tragic victory theme. Given the setting and direction of the story so far Harry has tragic wounded hero written all over him. The ending will have to flow with the rest of the works and though I don't think that Harry will die, I think it will be Percy Weasly actually, after realizing the error of his ways and reconciling with his father, he will die a tragic death at either the hands of Voldemort or one of his minions. The other thought is that the other potential fulfiller of the prophecy will die, and that our stumbly friend Mr Neville Longbottom will meet an untimely end, thus fueling Harry's drive to successfully eliminate Voldemort. After all, Harry has always been a staunch lover of the underdog and Neville is an underdog if there ever was one.

666 | I think Harry will die, because I watched an interview with JK, and she said she doesn't want Harry Potter books to continue especially not written by someone else. She also mentioned how Agatha Christie killes off her characters like Poirot for the same reason.

202 | I'm betting and hoping she does kill of Harry. I don't want to sound crude or anything, but, really.. I know the series was about Harry-- but I can't stand him...at all. If she does kill him off, it'd probably be for a good reason. J.K. enjoys being incredibly cryptic about her written works. And as for who will die? Well, I'm going to guess and say Ron and Harry. Ron will probably not stand to see his best friend fight alone, and he'll end up following Harry and get killed in the process. Then they'll probably have a showdown (with Voldemort) of some sort and Harry will die. ...That's my theory.

182 | I have a theory that Malfoy might die instead of Harry. He was so hesitant to kill Dumbledore, and was almost forced to go with Snape at the end of book 6. Perhaps he doesn't really want to be evil after all, and to atone for all he's done he sacrifices himself in the end. As much as I don't like Malfoy and don't want him to be a martyr, I think it's a possibility. I also think she wants everyone to think Harry might die, and therefore it won't happen. After all, it was mainly a children's book series, and how many kids will want to dress up like Harry Potter if he's dead? It's not a good marketing idea to kill Harry. However, she's made more than enough money so it still might happen.
