Yesterday for some bizarre unknown to even me reason I was looking on wikipedia at stuff. Somehow i got led to something on superman and Darkseid, from there somehow to deadpool and something on the fourth wall. The fourth wall is a metaphorical wall that separates a game from a person, and makes them unaware they are in a game. Deadpool is aware he is in a comic and people are reading it, but that is unimportant. There was a picture on FFV with the characters talking directly to the player, and In SH: Covenenant Yuri also seems to be aware he is in a game. So im wondering any others like this?

| | Yes. Loads of it in Metal Gear Solid. Like: "Snake, if you want to save your game call <insert frequency>...[...]". And not to forget the famous: "You'll find Meryl's frequency on the back of the game box" "Ok, get it" And then you have to look at the pictures on the back of the games cover and find her frequency. Kinda funny. Its usually taboo in gaming, but when in some rare moment someone decides to break it, it usually is really fun ![]()

| | Paper Mario and Mario and Luigi games, they do it lots. Because they're self spoofing, its really funny too, like the evil guy in crappy costume telling you not to spoil the plot for younger gamers. You have to have played it to understand.

359 | WOW! I just realised something. Have you by chance been of the ability to play Atellier Irs: Eternal Mana? For as long as it has been out... it's getting quite rare already. Now I mention this game because of the Fourth wall scenario you mention. Spoilers... you've been warned.... In the game... a little Mana known as Popo and throughout the game he is the host of several lectures that he gives 'you'. And wouldn't you know it... they call it "Popo's fourth Wall Lecture". All I could think to myself was brilliant ^_^ By the way... the main character Klein makes reference to the ESRB when attempting to steer away from a misunderstanding half way through the game. There are a few other games I have in mind, but... I forgot them when I was typing this. -_-;

| | ^ I haven't played it before but you have gotten me interested. Well all games kind of do, but they make it seem like they are talking to the main character. Its quite popular amoungst kids programs but it makes you feel like you are too stupid too know what the hell you are doing. On Baldurs Gate:DA II if you leave you character for a while they say things like "If I have to wait any longer I am going to strangle you with that controller cord!" etc.. or on Sonic he looks at you and taps his foot etc...

104 | The forth dimension is a place true programmers wish to discover or create and true gamers wish to experience. Most games use things like naming characters (FF) or giving the player a chance to decide how he wants to end the game (good bad ending). Well just remember the old Duck Hunt for old Dandy where you could shoot ducks with a gun. The forth dimension in gaming industry is not far but not so close as we would want it to be. Just imagine how crazy would people who sued GTA will go when they will start seeing their young not killing people in the streets but trading their lives for the gaming world.
