I own Shadow of the Collosus, and I thought that it was a great game. However some people I know didn't quite like it, because they found it boring and repetetive. I disagree, becuase they do not appreciate the world that has been visualised and created. It is a vast land with huge mountains, and massive lakes, accomapnied by jaw dropping visuals. There is also the excitement of not knowing what giant you will face next, the first few are a bit similar and not very difficult, but as the game progresses, the Collosus become so much more cooler and dangerous. Shadow of the Collosus is not just a videogame, it is an experience. I would like those who have played the game to reply and say what they thought of it, whether it is good or bad.

382 | I haven't played it, yet, I'm waiting for it to get a wee bit cheaper. I was told nothing but good things about it, though, I like games that are very aesthetic, detailed and artistic, for that, alone, I would buy it. Have you played Ico?. I'm also waiting for it to get re-released.

46 | Yes Mr amfu, since when you were playing that game I was right next to you. You only played the first 2 bosses, which are probably the most dull in the game. While we were searching for the third Collosus, you decided to give up and wanted to play God of War. The reasons why you did not enjoy it is becuase a) you did not get very far so you would not have seen the much cooler Colossus b) you did not appreciate the detailed landscape, and the incredible graphics, and the exploration. Shadow of the Colloosus is really a game that you should play and experience by yourself, so that you could feel the overwhelming sense of being alone in this empty lush world. Since I was with you, while you were playing it, you talking to me most of the time and not really consentrating on the game you werer playing. Relpying to the other; no I havn't played ICO, I really would like to though, since I enjoyed Colossus so much. If you enjoy detailed, and artistic games then Shadow of the Collosus will be perfect to you. You should go out and buy it as soon as possible. If you read my response to amfu above, then you should know that you should play the game by yourself, and immerse yourself in the world that is created in your television screen.

693 | amFu, you opened with sentance that is the complete opposite of the truth. Name ONE other game that is about you fighting multple mythical epic sized montsers, this being the main focus and all. I've only gotten a little bit into it, but I have to say it's an amazing game. Visuals are great, controls are so-so but the gameplay is great. 10 out of 10!

| | I think that game is awsome but it has it's flaws too. Heres what I think: Pros:You can kill 16 gaint monsters and most of them are quite different from one another. You can do timed battles and get new items Stuning graphics and a huge world Great music(in my oppinion anyways) Challenging...enough Cons: Simple and dull story Nothing esle to do besides kill giants, oh there is the secret garden but there is nothing to do there. The items you do get from timed battles aren't that great 10 hour game play (for me 1st time) some peole say the controls suck but they really don't, it just takes a LITTLE getting used to, once you get a hang of it you'll have no problem, and you can change them to your liking anyway. The best way to enjoy this game to the fullest is to figure out how to kill the giants on your own. Don't look on the internet unless you're driven crazy(I spent about 4 hours each trying to figure out how to kill 2 of them)! You will spoil the fun of figuring it out yourself!

| | I played this game awhile back on a demo, but I never actually got to play the game anymore than the first few minutes of it. Does the entire game consist of climbing up the backs of giant creatures and taking them down? I thought the game was quite a bit of fun and I've thought about picking it up when I'm out at Gamestop every so often.

| | Shadow of the Colossus was a great game. The visuals were stunning and the landscape was awesome. In it you can hunt for these white-tailed lizards and fruit to increase health and stamina. I may get ICO later on. I give the game a 10 out of 10. | ||||||||

| | Just rent the game if you don't want to spend a lot of money. Again like I said it only took me about 10 hours to do the main part. To answer your question yes all the way you kill monsters is by climbing to a certian part of their body and stabing it with your sword until they die. It may sound repetative but it's not. Getting on to and climbing around each giant are different with each boss. You have to incorperate your horse, arrows, the landscape around you, and running the hell away. Not to mention you have a stamina meter to pay attetion to; you can't just climb forever, you need to rest if you used it all up. You can increase your only two stats(helth and stamina) through certain actions too. To me this is a very fun game. Actually it's quite frustrating too. Some times the collosus will try to shake you off, and when it does this you can't climb because you are holding on for dear life so you don't fall. And all during this you are losing stamina so you're like yelling "hurry the **** up, climb your stupid ass up that collosus *stamina runs out and you fall* Damn it you bastard, you could climb up that collosus if you weren't such a *****." I accidentaly cracked my ps2 controller from squeezing it so hard, then I got pissed one day and just twited it in half. Whoops! They should have a warning "If you get pissed at this game then have something near by to punch so you don't break you ps2 controller."

| | Shadow of the Collosus is one of the best games this generation. The sheer scale of the collosus is incredible. When you see that they are big, they ARE. People complain that is just kill the mosnters and thats it, but the fight itself and the multiple ways to kill the beasts are what makes the game challenging. And, at least for me, is not that repetitive. Each collosus is killed diferently from the other one, and even if they look alike(well just 2 of them, the small ones) the process to kill them is completely different. Its a breath of fresh air for videogames, a different approach from the other games. Also the enviroments are awe-looking, you can see miles and miles ahead and there are places that you just can't imagine that being there and it surprises you. Overall is a great game. Short, but a great game, and its definitely a work of art.

| | Shadow could easily take on the place of 2005 game of the year for me, if just wasn't that little thing called Resident Evil 4. Definitely on par with God of War(though both are completely different as gameplay matters); the story in this game is so simple it works for this game, instead of developing an intrincate plot that goes with such a minimalistic take on gameplay, they decided to do the story as minimalistic as possible, great call. The controls react amazingly, the animation is incredible, the collossi are the best looking bosses ever portrayed in any game(f*ck you Metal Gear Rex). How could anyone say that the 11th, 7th and 10th battles are boring? that damn beast i had to kill with the geisers was just incredible kinky, and the smaller bosses were lotta fun, the flying desert worm was just the thing that made my day. The 12th battle was amazing, and the last colossi is just incredible. On a side note, as we never got to hear the names of the characters, we nicknamed the characters as we liked so the main character was named Ramon, the damsel in distress was Petra and the valiant steed was Pancho, coolest names EVAR!

500 | I liked shadow of the colossus because it was unique! If nothing else it showed that instead of just remaking a game because they knew it would sell they took a whole new premasis and turned it into a game. Now instead of having a game that features a couple of boss characters this game is just boss characters. The whole stinking level is trying to kill one guy. It's innovative.

| | Now I'm starting to wish I ordered this instead of the Drakengard games this month. XD I've heard basically all good things about the game, except for a couple of people (Piro -_- ). From what I've heard, it's either a love it or hate it game. Based on all the Gamespot videos and reviews, it'll be a game that I love lol. I'm definitely going to pick it up sometime soon, it looks well worth it. For those of you who have played it, a couple questions. ^^; What was your favorite part of the game? Which collosi was easiest/hardest to kill and which one did you enjoy killing the most? ~DragonHeart~ | ||||||||
