They broke into my car... but they left my glasses.

Yes... what I thought was going to be a great day didn't turn out to be so great. I walked up to my car after work, put my key into the door... unlocked it and the first thing I notice is all my change is gone.

Right about there I start to think... Where is my stereo? Sure enough... it's gone. I don't too much mind the whole event in general, BUT... I had my new Dir En Grey CD, so... I was a bit angry. I tend not to be a selfish person and thankfully, I got through this just fine.

Now the one thing that I would not of cared for at all is if they stole my glasses. It's not that my glasses are expensive (which they are) it's just that I really enjoy these glasses. I mean hell... they tint automattically. -_-; If this had happened, I could have had that whole car and parking lot turned upside down looking for clues. They even let their finger prints on the glasses, but like I said... they didn't steal 'em so I was alright.

So...

Has anyone fallen victim to shitty work related security, or security in general?

We pretty much have none. But just to give you an idea as to why I perfer my glasses not getting is stolen is simple. They are like the most expensive thing in my car. O_o And yes... I could simply not elave my glasses in my car, but I do so for a reason and that is that.

So...

Someone stole my purse a few weeks ago. Terrible thing is, I know who it was, but there's no way to prove it. They took the cash I had, like $7 or something, and my calculator.....now I don't mind buying another calculator so much, it's just that MY PROGRAMS were on there. My precious programs I wrote myself. I will miss them.

He was smart though. He left my credit/debit cards, and probably didn't notice the jewelry inside one of the pockets. Didn't take my lucky coin, either.

My dad used to be a trucker, and he had these awful thick, red rimmed hick glasses that he wore. One day (this is YEARS ago), he left his truck for one moment, and when he turned around, the truck had been stolen. I don't know why I'm mentioning this. I think it was a relief to have those horrible glasses out of everybodies' life.

They stole a tape he loved, though, so that made me feel bad...

I've not had anything stolen from me, except food vouchers out of my back pocket. It's lucky because I don't eat much. Bitch stole my lunch! Yeah, I didn't care much. I was relieved my phone and wallet were left without anybody having touched them.

Think that was it... My mother has some stories, but... I'm not sure on the details.

Uuuuummm... well I haven't fell victim to shitty security but I know of a lady who has.

So I was in the mall with my friends and they had bought me one of those mini skateboards. Not the finger size kind but the ones that are about 18" long and you can actually ride. As I was saying we were in the mall with mini skateboards and we were kids so what do you think we were going to do? Skate of course! It wasn't crowded so we though it wasn't too bad. And of course if we did some other michevious things like peeing on the tiolet paper in the bath rooms(lol that makes me laugh when I remember that) and running up the escalators the wrong way. So then we walk to a A&B store and look around. Me being not too interested in clothes walk outside the store to wait for my friends. And before I knew it there in front of me was the biggest bitch I had ever had the misfortune of comming across screaming something at me. She asked "were you just in that store(not A&B she was talking about Dillards) with those skateboards!!!?" I was so frightene I barly mummbeld a "Uhh yes?" At this point my friends come out and she starts bitching like it's nobodies buisness. I am totally freaked out by this lady and she finally told us that she was going to call security. She didn't even give us a warning she was so pissed. I was thinking "She didn't see us do anything that bad did she, I mean there's no way she knows that we peed on the toilet paper." Next she says "You better get out of this mall fast if you know what's good for you!" And damn sure enough we ran the hell out of there. We ended up seeing a movie. Anyway I think that lady got even more pissed when she realized that that mall wasn't to strict on security. Can I honestly say she fell victim due to shitty security? I think the only thing she fell victim to was her period. lol

I've got my ipod photo stolen when I was at work. And I think I knew the girl who did it to, sucked though cause I got it when it JUST came out. So now I just have a regular 20gig ipod, but I still miss my photo. ;_;

Oh yeah and I'm in a sport known as Colorguard [visuals for bands, flags, rifles ect] and in the dumb guard room, so much stuff would get stolen. My freaking sabre for crying out loud was stolen and I paid 120 dollars for it too. That was a horrible day. ;_;

Back in the mid 90s, some crack head broke into my dads work truck, stealing some useless shit he had in there. My dad saw him walking away with his stuff, so he kicked his ass a little bit, and stole everything that he had on him... which was more useless shit. It was absolutely random, but he did find an Eagles tape that my mom really liked, so I guess everything worked out just fine.

I also played little league baseball with 4 kids who have all gone to jail on various charges. One of them got stuck in a window trying to break into a house. One of them tried to break into a vending machine and got arrested. Another got arrested for carjacking. I'm not quite sure what the last one did, but he got sent upstate, and then to boot camp. Funny thing is that it's two sets of brothers.

I had let a friend borrow a bunch of my cds and she left them in her car. Well, she lived on the bad side of Peoria and someone broke into her car and stole nothing but cds. Probably sold them at a nearby pawn shop for crack rocks.

One time I lost my my wallet in the parkinglot lot of the public library and it had a hundred dollars in it. I found it in the lost and found about 30 minutes later and someone stole 90 and left me ten. I thought that was a little nice leaving me 10 after stealing the rest.

My towel went missing from work yesterday...I'm not saying someone stole it, I'm just thinking someone borrowed it and then forgot to put it back in my basket, or the gnomes took it. Either way...I'm pissed, I want it back. It's such a nice blue towel, and its a big one too! *le sigh*

I hope it shows up soon!!

I had some little punk kid break into my truck about two years ago. It was maybe 1am and he must've thought that everyone was sleeping but I was just waking up for the weekly 7 hour drive I had to make to the work site. Anyways, the little punk was attempting to pull my subs out and clearly knew nothing but that they were worth money. I came out with a field hockey stick and he got that thing right up side the head. Turned out to be a 16 year old kid that lived a few doors down just looking to make a few bucks. I'm pretty sure those dozen or so stitches and concussion has taught him stealing gets you nothing but a headache.

Black people broke into my house and stole 3 grand's worth of stuff. Some of it belonged to my friend, and he was not reimbursed by my or his insurance company. Because of that he jacked his father's credit card and was caught and sent to live with his mother.

I'm sure one or two of you is like "Why did he have to say black people? He is RACIST." First of all, you don't know me, quiet your mouths. Anyhow. I say black people because like three different people in my neighborhood saw them ride up in a black caprice, park and get out, break into my house, and emerge later with my belongings. No one calls the cops as they are doing this. No one stops them. I hate my neighbors.

Isn't the first time, either. My house has been broken into three times in the 12 years i've lived here.

I live in a great community.

I wonder what it would be like if you actually caught somebody in the act. Come home and find some guy robbing your house. He'd be in some serious trouble if he was unarmed.

I'm not trying to advertise or anything, but for Lover Boy's sake, he should proooobably go ahead and click here.

Hahahaha.

While getting robbed sucks, i'd rather not have ADT. Not a fan of security systems and the ensuing police visits i'd be getting due to setting off my own alarm system.

I have an irrational fear of policemen.

I let you know this now... Security systems mean shit. If I was in the shoes of the thief, and I really wanted to get into your house and obtain what I seek... no alarm will stop me. There are many a great ways to kill off a security system entirely without shuting off all the power. Now if I wanted to kill the power to the whole neghborhood... then that would be an easier touch. They wont be able to narrow down any power outage to one house or source.

Same for cars. If they want it... the alarm won't stop 'em. They might hesitate a bit, but as to wether it'll be enough to stop 'em... who knows. Besides... they can turn it off as soon as they get in if they really know the vehicle they are breaking into.

BTW... ADT isn't the best. Especially if schools use it. ^_^
