Yes, it does appear that story holes or open-ended questions from the game that were answered in the book were engineered in such a way to please "the Sephiroth fanboys."

However, Nomura (The man in charge of FF7, who has much of the creative authority for FF7), wants it that way. A little irritating, but official.

In the spirit of trying to bring things back around to topic, with the body of Jenova cells now mostly eradicated, is it possible to make any further clones? (aside from the Deep Underground SOLDIERS of course. Lets pretend they're all going to die in Dirge of Cerberus and the Planet will magically purge their spirits as it did for Kadaj in the movie.)
