Umm as a rule of thumb I never trust anything that I get which says I have won money. I also never trust any email that has come from someone that I don't know and finally never trust anything that used a "computer draw system." That email is not even close to true.

I'd say false. If you don't recall entering this draw, then it's a fake. Lots of internet scams play on people's greed (no offence) so when you see you've won something like 3 million dollars, you'll fork over any info they want.

I've seen other variations being some guy from Africa who needs a "trustworthy" person to "borrow" their bank account to transfer thousands of dollars out of the unstable region.

If you're ever unsure of anything, I'd go to www.snopes.com and then click on email scams. Scroll through and see if you can find yours (or a variation of yours) on there. It'll tell you if it's real or not.

I agree with Maxpower. Its no more true than the pop ups you find on the internet. Sorry! I bet you got excited eh? I know I would've been. Anyways you mite as well try and contact them. You never know, you may have won it! Then you could donate it all to TFF

It's a scam. It's not hard to come up with an alias and basically an entire story to **** people over with. I could just basically find some guys address and phone number in a phone book, and pretend to be them. How would you know that I'm not some 43 year old woman from Poland?

Read first 5 lines to know for sure it's false.
Unfortunately laods of people like you think you might actuall get the money, but eventually it will just cost you money, you'll sign a contract without knowing and you'll be ****ed over. This stuff happens loads.

False. something on this on ITV here a while ago, you have to send money for them to pay for costs, of sending you the money, You send more money the promised cheque never ever arrives, your out of money.

Ugh, my dad did a few of these, a while back. He now knows it was pointless, but meh, he never had to pay anything. His came through mail, etc. They kept sending him cheques... Meh. They're all scams. Don't trust any of 'em.

If it is not a reply from a friend or something important that thou has been waiting for don't even bother reading it. Just delete, delete, delete. Damn e-mail advertisment. Burn them all.

All of there are scams and you should forward the email to fraud@fbi.gov.

Most of these scams operate out of Uganda (don't ask me why) and have been around even before the internet. Don't trust any of them.

If it's too good to be true, it usually is!

You'd think with all the "money" they're giving away that they'd be able to hire someone who can use proper grammer to type out their replies. If that's not a big tip off, then I don't know what is.

I personally want to thank whoever corrected the misspelling in the topic title. Because, damn, that was freakin' annoying.

On topic, yes, it's a scam. And by replying, you have foolishly indicated that you and your email address is active, and that you respond to emails such as these. Which means your now highly valued address and info will be sold to other scammers and spammers resulting in more junk mail and trojans for you.
