I get crappy spam from a friend of mine all the time. I say "friend" but shes actually a damn annoying pest that i've never really liked but she was friends with one of my good friends in highschool. Theyre all scams. You know what I do when she sends them to me? I send her a lovely rant, and if she doesnt take that into consideration, forward the spam to her so many times your thumbs get sore! It actually worked for 5 months.

I would say its fake.I get stuff like this all the time.If you see something like "you're a winner!" or no subject I wouldn't open it.After I opened one email like that I got TONS of pop ups.I had to go out and get a pop up blocker,most of the pop ups were porn too so I was like eww.So I wouldn't trust anything you don't recognize in the sender info.

Ehhhh, I wouldn't get my hopes up for that. I've had similar things happen. There are alot of scam websites out there that just try to sucker you into spending cash.

www.poetry.com is one of those. I tested it to be sure and wrote a really stupid poem under the name Hmgigity Bah Mutumbo. Search for poetry under that name and read my poem.

About a week later, I got letters saying how critics were raving over my "masterpiece" and that they wanted me to fly to Washington to go to some poetry banquet to share my work with them.

I tested this because several people were submitting really terrible works to that site and getting letters of praise. Seriously. The site is a scam...just one out of thousands of sites.

The direction this thread seems to be going in has everyone talking about scams they've seen or been involved in. That's fine. I'd just like to ask stardragon to not spam in her own thread.

As for me, I suppose the only scams I remember coming across are the ones I get about college in the mail. "Take out our loan!" "Want financial aid?" from companies I don't know about. Some don't even list their company name. My family is already having to shell out money for college, let's keep the financial ****ing to when we have money to spare.

lol Ally, it's more like let's keep the financial fucking to the government. Because I have a job of my own, which I use to more or less cover my own financial shit, I get screwed over on state grants, because I'm making money. And my mom gets about half her paycheck taken out for taxes, and a lot of other stuff like insurance, etc. and for the loan application, it doesn't take that into consideration. She has to list the full amount she makes, not the money she actually receives, which is incredibly gay, because it's tens of thousands.

Well this wha the first scam I ever had.I have a spam scanner so normally I am free of this stuff, that's why it sounded way to cool!
