I watched 4 episodes of full metal alchemist, immediately
after watching 4 episodes of Samurai Champloo.

Champloo outshined Full Metal by leaps and bounds IMO,
judging off of the 1st for episodes of each series.
Guys, it's not that I am shallow - it's just that I don't
have access to the rest of the series at this time

Actually the second half of the series is horribly bashed due to an atempt to wrap up the series. Halfway into the anime the plot differs completely from the manga.

I recently downloaded all 51 episodes in fansubs last week and watched it all. I must say, that was a pretty good anime. That and I can sympathize with Ed on being short, heh. Anyway I'll probably download the manga somewhere too XD. At which part does the manga differ from the anime though?

The manga has just plainly a different story and alot of things were changed. I`ll give you a few examples that are manga spoilers but don`t apply to the anime.

-Scar killed Winry`s parents.
- Fuher Bradly is refered to as "Wrath".
- Hohenheim is a clone of the creator of the Hormunculi.
-Scar hasn`t died.....yet.
- Scar killed off Nina, Alexander, AND Tucker.
- A character named Ling becomes important.
- Greed is killed by being crucified by the antagonist.

There are major differences.

No, I actually like that plot change. one of the very few I liked actually.

My least favorite plot change in FMA was the desperate attempt to wrap up the plot.

Of course, but the ending could've used more thought.
