Ways not to defeat Cecil Dark Knight

So for those of us that beat FF4 without looking on the internet, what crazy things did you do to try to defeat Cecil Dark Knight?

I remember I turned Cecil into a pig, thinking that I'd be facing a pig making the fight a whole lot easier. There was also the time where I thought if I deequipped Cecil's Black Sword he wouldn't be able to attack me with it.

If I remember correctly you do not fight at all, just parry or defend XD.

Aye theres 2 ways to go about this little tokyo showdown.

First of which being what was suggested in the post above, you attack him once or twice to start the speech text scrolling. You only really parry for about 3-5 turns and he fades away..

..not much fun in that tho.

So I usually take the second option, which brings me a grin and satisfaction but not much more -> simply beat the hell out of the other Cecil, there is 4512 HP to cut down (or so it was back on FFIV PSone/SNES) but after you do you'll really feel like you've EARNED IT ya know.

Yes that is how I beat him the first time. Didn't really pay attention to the words and just kept attacking and healing myself tell the the shadow died.

I had the instruction book with the SNES version, and it told how to do it, so I just stood there and let him hit me til the fight ended.

I kicked his butt the first time i played He was fairly easy to me and I did not cheat.

the very first time I played, I attacked until he died. I told my brother about this and he said it's not possible. haha lol
I guess I was right.

I just held down the run buttons the whole time the first time I played him thinking that I would run before I died. I didn't. It might have worked though if I had more hit points?

I kicked his ass and used hi potions repeatidly to keep myself alive. XD

I thought there was some trick to doing it, like deequiping your sword in combat, or something, but I never could figure it out, so I went all out and kicked his mother ****ing ass.
