This quote from Xenogears sums up how I feel why God, if there is one, created humans with flaws:

"Did you notice that the two great angels only have one wing each...? According to a legend handed down in Nisan… God could have created humans perfectly... But then, humans would not have helped each other... So that is what these great single-winged angels symbolizes... In order to fly, they are dependant on one another." ~ Margie

Makes a whole lot of sense to me. If God created us as perfect beings, we'd lose incentives to interact with each other. We'd just be our own one-man island.

Sorry, but you're missing my point entirely. It is still a boook. albeit an important one, but It was still written by people interpreting what they heard, and let's not forget the Old Testament as well.

I'm not criticizing you Tom, I respect you for your beliefs, but also you have to realize that, although you are meant to spread the word, being a Christian, many many people will hate you for it. If you call that persecution, then i'm sorry for you. I would call it disagreeing on opinion.

anyways, I do hope you stay, but maybe rethink your wording of your thoughts on a subject such as this. I hope you dont't take this personally, but just think objectively before you put something in a thread about your beliefs, becase beliefs and opinions are like a**holes-- everyone has one.

Well, I do think God would create an imperfect world and an imperfect being. Genisis 31, " God saw all he had had made, and it was very good...." ..not perfect. If he had created us perfectly, then we would be God's..defeating the purpose of being the one all knowing God. And since we are simply good and not perfect, all else short of perfection follows..such as suffering and sorrow.

No! God I don't think meant for an imperfect world. We did it when adam and eve sined on the earth for the first time. So that brought sin to all people.God knew we would sin but we still had to make the choices. So No he did not in a way.

Final_heartless...wha? I don't understand what that post meant. (No offence.)

Maybe, instead of writing short answers like that, you can begin adding more content to your posts, and explain things a little more thoroughly. I've given you warnings for things before. Please add a little more content. Thanks. ^_^;;

I understand what Final Heartless meant, and I agree with him, however it is horribly confusing that we just have to trust what God is saying.

He's saying God meant for the world to be perfect, but he knew Adam and Eve sinned.

That's one of those things we just have to trust God for.

Skipping to the end of the post, (sorry everyone but i find it a challenge to slog through numerous replies) I would say that yes Free will is the answer and free will is the reason that we can kill ourselves, God is apparently omniscient therefore he knows everything, he knows what would happen and he knows wha the end result would be so this gives us the choce of 2 answers, God knows what would happen in the end and this is all one big learning curve, kinda like learning to ride but with guns, knives and blood And also maybe God intended us to do this so that he could see, like a big experiment how we would react with: primarily no guidance as we were in the beggining and then with only a basic guide being the bibel. Im tired so ill stop writing, ill carry this diatribe on tomorrow, i have a thread to start on another forum.

It's true...we were created in his image...and he did give us freewill...but do you think God himself is perfect..forgive me for this...but I don't believe God was perfect....after all how could you know what Sin is...is you yourself haven't done it...God sins just like we do...I have much proof to this if you wish to try me...I'll give you a basic one right now....the Seven Deadly sins are Envy, Greed, Gluttony, Lust, Pride, Wrath, and Sloth...it says in the in the end of the bible something about God's Wrath...everyone knows about it...that is indication...that God himself does sin...just like humans....therefore...we were created in his image....but God's son Jesus...he wascreated to be perfect...he never once sinned...he was ment to take on Lucifer...the Ultimate sinner....this way...balance could be kept...and God could live one...as well as the rest of existance...

Sorry to burst yet another bubble Craig. jesus Sinned, it was however omitted from the Bible like many other testaments. there is a jesus' Gospel. One of the things he does in this Gospel is destroy a neighbours house because he is angry. this i would say is wrath.
On the other Hand what God did was not he cleansed us of the 'bad people', the 'sinners', this may of seemed like wrath but in all truthfullness it would not be, i can certainly see why you would say that, probably along with a load of other people and i can see the evidence that would lead you to this but you would have to pose yourself a question..."Would it be classed as wrath if you killed people because of their sins, so that they could repent?"
Certainly he killed people, thats not in dispute, but then you look at his penance, God furthered himself even more from us than he was. This was a pretty big price to pay for improving our lives.

I am very pleased to have met you Jof...you are helping me out more and more on understanding things...I myself have not read the entire bible....just Revelation about 20 times....I don't know why...but something about it...just feels familiar in some wierd way...so I know the story of Revelation pretty well..not really any of the other stories...I guess I should read the rest...and learn more as too what I need to know...although....I'm kind of too lazy to do so...

Can we get back on topic here, guys? I know sometimes oyu'll meet an interesting person and just post a lot back and forth to each other, and that's absolutely fine, however, off-topicness is not. Let's go back, get on-topic and continue this discussion.
If you guys want to talk more, there's a Private Messaging system.
Thanks. ^_^

EDIT: please do not reply to this post. Just get back to the topic.

sorry...I do that sometimes....I'll go way off topic out of nowhere....one thought leads to another and another and another....@.@

EDIT: There's a reason I deleted your other post. It was in reply to my post (still off topic, and a little spammy). Please don't reply to messages where I state I want the thread to get back on topic (also, do not reply to this). Thanks. - Chez Daja

Take a peak at the first chapter of the Bible and you will know that he created two beings in his image who were given "free will". But it's a double edged sword and Lucifer, being the sly bastard he is, tricked Eve to finally sin when she shouldn't have. God gave people free will and I'm sure he very well knew the consequences since he is after all, God.

We aren't perfect because of choice and free will. It's this that makes our lives more real than anything else. Just imagine if you didn't have choice or free will, you'd have to do everything you're told and have no life of your own.

I personally would rather be imperfect than perfect itself because if you achieve perfection, what else is there to do? If you master something in this world where no one is better at what you do you become a tool to society. So really, why would you want to be perfect in the first place? I suggest you think harder about this next time it comes to mind. Oh and this is entirely from a christian point of view, not my own. I got a lot of shit crammed down my throat as a child, fun eh?
i saw that everyone had sumthing like this but i belived that yours was the nicest written lol.well its true god does/did know everything and he knew wat would happen but one thing that u will think of is why in the world would sumone just let a person free will ? i mean like why would he let the human be the way he is i belive that if god really meant to do good dont u think we humans would have less flaws for example every man is greedy sum alot and sum not at all but everyone has felt it in there life one time or another, to me if god would have known everything i belive he should have fixed us a lil more and wat we dont know does not hurt so if we never knew wat greed and envy felt like we would not mind it right ? god did creat beings that in time will notice there own problems beings that would evolve and be worse then i bet god would imagine .to many people do wrong alot more then good that is every one take that into consideration and u will c how much bad u do in one day if u think of the mass number of people u will think to yourself wow we wont last long lol but well thats just life huh or MAYBE god made us like this to TEST us the weak and the strong but then again wat might be weak for me u might look at it and say WOW u tough man u get me i like this thread = ) please dont take anything the wrong way = ) Lauremt
