It's free for SE to ban accounts, it's not free to sue people. so I guess they won't care about sueing IGE anytime soon.

Well its the way our economy works... they make an ass of money because people are lazy bastards and pay for it. If hardly anyone bought gil, this wouldn't even be an issue... because there would be no IGE. As much as I hate gilselling, you got to give them props for making a business plan that can rake in dough so effectively... and legally. Its like Bill Gates... you might hate the guy, but he knew wtf he was doing... he made a shitload of money. I'm not jealous of them though. I don't need wads of cash to feel good about myself. If I had that kind of money, I would be bored out of my mind. It takes all the excitement out of everything. You no longer have the feeling of opening that new stereo system you scrounged every penny you could for a year to buy... that feeling is gone. You no longer care if something breaks. Throw it away and get the latest and greatest. I would hate to live like that. But I digress...

Gilselling sucks... at least in WoW you can get some satisfaction out of PKing their ass over and over.

EDIT: I take that back. They usually have super-uber gear which they stole from hogging monsters... so they would be freaking hard to kill for regular folks. FFXI... you can't kill them, but you can **** them up good in other ways. My pty the other day was lvling off Beetles in CN and there was a RMT pty on the other side of the beetle room. At first we equally got kills, but then we got dirty. Literally every time a beetle popped, we grabbed it. We had 4-5 out of a 6-man pty all camping the area. They kept examining us over and over with their damned /anon pty armed with uber gear. Not our fault they sucked ass at pulling. They soon left after they realized we had no intention of letting them get anything at all. They had a PL... we had none. That pty was awesome.

How do you know someone is a RMT? I haven't played the game yet. Waiting for my new computer so I can play.(Or I could get a new graphics card but I think I'm going for the new computer.) I mean couldn't they just be leveling up or just looking to trade. Or is it obvious that they are real money traders?

Your server is gay, lol. Allthough I have seen one rmt whm sometime ago with healing staff, zenith crown and noble's tunic o_o;

Yeah, most of them have shit gear, but there is an exception to every stereotype. It was quite obvious they were RMT. When a whole pty of anons with garbled names show up and start camping the same mob type like its a farming expedition, constantly examining you over and over, and being PLed by a known RMT... it wasn't too hard to figure out. That and the fact that when we started hogging beetles they moronically tried to MPK us with a Scorp and started speaking in chinese, which I presume was cursing.

I've actually become accustomed to spotting them. Once you farm a ton you can see the difference between a regular farmer and the RMT asshats.

Those AD's change their content from the text around them.. on the front page of TFF is all about Final Fantasy right? if this were a say.. Nintendo site? it would have marketing ad's for the Wii or something. Simple concept, its all scripting and one little extra bit of cash for TFF.

Go SE is all I have to say. Though the gilsellers keep coming. In all honesty I have seen more gilsellers in recent weeks than ever before on Cerberus...kinda makes me wish that SE hadn't fixed the whole MPK issue.

The babies are a notoriously known RMT group. I've seen parties of them in Cave of Sharikame, just Babyac, Babybc, Babycc, etc. I think Dawezy might have been there too. But those guys are definitely well known on the Alexander server. The others I am not familiar with, but it has been a while since I was farming since the last deletion of RMT accounts. So new names I do not recognize.

They should just make me a GM... I have a habit of spotting every damn RMT group I come across rather quickly. I mean its pretty damn sad when you try to party in Bibiki Bay when there's an alliance of anons, no linkshells(or if it is a linkshell its a known LS for PLing RMTs), no AF, moronic fighters all camping the same shit you are. I mean damn... where are the GMs? The rest of us can see them plain as day. Its so fricken obvious nowadays who is and who isn't. I mean hell, the fact that all of their names were gibberish is another key sign.

If that isn't bad enough, now they are trying to get regular parties too. I had a nin the other day who was a fricken RMT. Don't remember his name.. was some auto-generated name. He claimed to be japanese, but he couldn't speak a lick of it nor english. He tried using autotrans to cover it up, but we weren't buying it. One of my buddies can speak japanese so he was asking the 'real' jpns in the party some questions and the dude had no clue wtf he said. He didn't even seem to understand auto-trans most of the time. He had no clue what a OutPost Warp was(at level 67, come ON...), no AF, crap gear, no clue how to tank, and thought a DRK should voke more than him. Hell, I had to heal the DRK less when he was tanking than when the fricken RMT was tanking. That's pretty damn sad. Too bad he was pty leader... but none of us will ever party with him again. If I see his name... I'll remember it.

Not really. It is rather simple to get rid of a RMT leader if you really want to. Just have another person lined up to take his place, everyone drop from the party and create a new one. I've done it to asshat leaders who would knowingly go AFK for a long time so they could leech and you can't bump them. Screw that. A good party knows how to work around such things, even if it is the leader.

Go SE? lmao.. your all kidding right? If SE really wanted this stuff removed there is a simple solution.. remove gil from the equation all together or simply cap prices at the AH.. Make NM's spawn times less and as rare/ex and better equiptment more generally accessable instead of having you have to play for 3 weeks to obtain an O-hat.. this game is ridiculously slow placed soley for one reason. to make you play longer and spend more money.. Aslo, I don't recall ever fighting crabs in any of the "real" final fantasy games I ever played? seriously, is that all you guys could come up with? lol.. crabs? who wants to fight some crabs today? oh by the way their level 1,000,000... Laws of physics tell us, no matter what u do to that crab I could still drop kick it for a quarter mile..could we please have more realistic monsters? Yes, I can keep going..lol... SE is the only online gaming community that deletes your profile if you leave for to long.. lol.. yea thats customer service apparently.. and to top it off if you forget or loose your password your completely screwed. "like me, a level 73 thf".lol.. u need to go buy a whole new game, reinstall it and go through the whole process of downloading for hours with constant disconnects.. ooh fun..lol.. last Time I checked I played games to have fun and I pay people my hard earned money to entertain me.. not make me sit in one place for 12 hours hoping to see one NM spawn so 100 japanese gil farmers can pounce on it.. lol.. Sorry, but you guys got a long way to go before I can give honest props.. though don't ge me completely wrong.. it is a fun Game, until u hit about level 40 and it takes u days to find a party and leveling up is so hard u wished u'd rather of rammed your head into a wall than tried in the first place.. and since im speaking of job leveling difficulty i could also referr to the leveling of smithing and so forth and the insanely slow rate of that.. i fished for months.. level 40..lol
