| | I've been all over the place, so it's kind of hard for me to say, really. I'm not sure what I want after going to so many places. I'd like to move out to California and I'm actually supposed to in July of next year. Who knows if that will fall through, though? I may hate it and come back to Illinois. Like I said...I've been all over the place. I've been to: Alabama Arizona Arkansas Colorado Illinois (live here) Indiana Iowa Louisiana (used to live there) Maryland Mississippi Missouri Nebraska New Jersey New Mexico New York Ohio Oklahoma Pennsylvania (used to live there) Tennessee Texas West Virginia Wisconsin Tees Side, UK Carlin How, UK Amsterdam, in the insane freakin Netherlands After seeing so many different places, you kind of forget where your home really is. You'd have to go to so many places to understand what I mean. It just doesn't feel the same when you come back. I don't know if that is good or bad, though. I'm still trying to figure that out. Honestly, I think you should ask yourself if you are really ready to see what the rest of the world is like. To venture into other people's lives and be a part of their lifestyles, be it a day or a few hours. Why should you ask yourself that? Because you're probably just like I was and everyone else who hasn't traveled much. You've probably got everything pictured out in your mind of how things will be or a sense of what it will be like. After so many years of building up how a certain place will be, you may find yourself to be crushed when you arrive and it's nothing like what you thought it was going to be. England is a perfect example of this for me. I thought it was going to be just nonstop craziness and fun the whole time I was there. Well, it turned out much different than I anticipated. I'll leave it at that. It had it's upsides, but I don't know if I will go there again. Everything was so different from what I thought it was going to be like. Don't build up all of your hopes on one place. There is a good chance that it won't be as you picture it, but I do hope that it is everything that you want it to be. I've learned that even if you are let down by a place that you had your heart set on, there are endless amounts of other places for you to explore. Keep in mind: Sometimes you can find what you are after even when you aren't looking for it.

382 | Oh, California can be beautiful... and ugly. it all depends on what do you like and what you don't like. The thing with California, is that it has it all, mountains, deserts, forests, beaches, desolate places, cities and all kinds of weathers, it isn't the same to live in San Francisco than to live in San Diego, completely different temperatures. However, my husband, a California native lived a year in Greece, in some little town on the coast and loved it to pieces, if it wouldn't be that complicated to move there, we would be living there, right now. Go figure. I have been to other places, I've loved most of them, even those that weren't so appealing to me as whole, had some place that I would have loved to live in, simply because, a I said, it all depends on what your tastes are, and most places can accomodate your tastes, if you look hard enough. Currently, as much as I love California, I miss my country, once you are out of it for good, you start realizing how nice your own country actually is, if anything, because your friends, family, culture and personal history are there. But, even though I did leave my country, GreenDay, no, I didn't dream of leaving it. Not, until I met my husband and decided to follow him around, then I realized that the world is an amazing place that should be thoroughly enjoyed, yes, I realize how corny that sounds, but, it is true. Now, I wish I could be permanently travelling to new places. And I'll add my vote for Japan, we were there for an hour, only, during a layover and, even though we never came out of the airport, everything seemed very different to me, right off the bat, so many wacky color combinations, so much technology in display, it was something else. | ||||||||
