AMV Addiction

I just noticed I'm an AMV adict. If I'm not sleeping or away from the house I have one going on the computer. Even when I'm here posting I have one going and just listen to the music when I'm not watching it.

Is there anyone else like this or even some of you who just like them.

I like the DDR Projects on animemusicvideos and the AMV Hell series best. MAby some of you are fans of those.

I saw a really good AMV of Weird Al's "Trigger Happy" of Trigun.

Also, Weezer's "Only In Dreams" done to Cowboy Bebop.

That's all that really sticks out as a good AMV in my memory.

I must have see all the DDR projects and AMV hells at least 25 times and I still love them. I have alot of others and I'm constantly adding. I've been getting into Utena ones now as well. I'm also trying to watch the anime as well. Paradise Kiss, sounds familiar. I'll have to look that one up. I'll add it to much to see list for now.

I think this is better belonging in the Anime forum, if you ask me.

Or even the music forum.

But not the Gen Chat forum. =P

Anyways, there's this really good one by Otaku Studios for Sarah Brightman's song "Eden" I really like, I remember it from a few years ago.

There was a really good one I can't remember from the Kenshin OVAs I thought was excellent.

I have had the Anime Music Video called "Whisper of the Beast" playing in the background for the last 3 hours actually. It is the number 1 video on AnimeMusicVideos.org at the moment, and has been for quite sometime. It's a video about Naruto, and I just love it.

Everytime I have to re-format my computer (Darn Limewire and it's virus infected... anime video files that I do not download), the first thing I do is go through an re-download the video that I like the most but haven't put onto a CD-R... I cannot get enough of them!

What I really enjoy the most is seeing how much time people have put into them. I currently have 2 700mb videos floating around on my system that are over an hour long! One is called "DDR Project 4" and the other is called "AMV Hell 3". Both are quite good and on the site mentioned above. I love them both quite a bit.

The first video's I watched ever were from DBZWarriors.com, there XDannyPooX was the creator, and he did quite well considering what he was using back then.

Anywho, I am a major AMV Addict to the core and cannot get enough of them. However, I have noticed a lack of very good ones recently, but I don't mind... I am fine with what I have.

I've noticed it as well. It's very likely because a lot of the big artists are waiting until Anime Expo where a lot of new top quality AMVs appear.

AMV Hell CE is out now, BTW.

You raise some good points about AMVs. You'll see a LOT that are just random clips with music slapped on it. Even worse it's just already subtitled footage. But if you dig through all the crap, you'll find some well done treasures, and it's just astounding.

Some of my favorites (I'm too lazy to grab the links just do a search)

Shonen Bushido, Kaizoku no Bouken, The Race: All of these are done by a french artist named Istiv. His style is FANTASTIC. His splicing and multi-layering is AMAZING, plus he does One Piece and there's not enough high quality OP vids out there.

Reflections of Style 2: A 10 minute Multi-editor project featuring some great visuals and catchy music

Animix: THE Definitive Anime Dance video that's an hour long

Odorikuruu: An oldie (2001 and it shows), but good editing and a catchy song.

RVG, VG3: The Video game projects done by most of the same guys who do AMV hell. They mix footage from Anime and Video games and then select a piece of remixed VG music to it. Awesome effects!

That's just the tip of the iceberg for me though.
