Microphone problems...

Okay, so, I'm not sure if anyone will be able to help me with this, but I've always used my mic a lot. Since I got my new computer, a Windows XP, I've started using my mic again, but for people now hearing feedback through their headphones. (An echo of themselves through their headphones).

At first, it started with one person I often spoke to. Now the problem seems to have moved on to a lot of others.

It's a labtec mic, and another friend gave me a help site. I followed all of the instructions, but when I tested it, it was still as echoey as before.

I speak to bunches of people through my microphone, and now they won't spek to me because it's a confusing series of echo's whenever they speak.

I wonder if anyone could help me or give some advise?

I'm no professional, especially with microphones etc. but I would suggest simply playing around with all of the faders on the advanced volume settings in the control panel.

Something might be up too loud, or something might need to be muted. It would make sense seeing as you described the sound as an annoying "echo".

Although, if that was the problem, you would probably be able to hear it on your end. Whether or not you can, I'm not sure, you didn't say.

You probably already tried that, though.

Yeah, I messed with loads of things on the control panel. I guess I'll try again.

I'm losing hope, but I got folks to talk to with this awesome () British accent, so I'm wanting to get it fixed. Thanks for the advise though, I appreciate it.

Hehe, british accents. I have one of those too although it doesn't sound anything like the british accents as portrayed in American TV. Then again, most british accents don't

But yeah, good luck with fixiing it. Sorry for the poor suggestion from me, its not really my area. I would love to know how you did it though, so I'll keep my eye on this thread if you post here if you get it sorted
