Mostly gameplay, often story, though the later varies from game to game. For example, I'd play an RPG with some expectation of a deep, involveing, and possible somewhat unpredictable plot whereas most RTS games are more about the gameplay. I love it when said gameplay includes things to tweek, I'm DEATHLY patient with such things and will often spend hours perfecting a character, minigame or skill for no reason other than the pure enjoyment of doing so.

Graphics.. Nah. Though I am something of a sap for good music in a game, it needs to be suited to the area and not too repetative since repetative music can often grind on my nerves horribly. I'm one of those people who is quite pleased when the sound effects are just right and will occasionally sit in one area of a game for long periods of time just to hear the music there. Yes. I'm aware of the wierdness.

I play games for action. Pure killing an running. Even in raceing games I go for the throat. Tending to be vicious an loving it. I never get really mad though. Basically rpg's are a new concept for me because there is more running a round, and not enough killing, but now that I am getting more an more into them I find tham on my level for pure action. The thrill, and the story amaze me. The puzzles an characters makeit more persoal. Like I am actually there. So I play for the competition. The Game Play

The reason I play games generally is for enjoyment, but mostly it depends on the game. Final Fantasy games caught me for many reasons; in particular the depth to the whole game, I wanted to see how good I can get through the game and try and get much out of the game that it has to offer ie I try and unlock secrets and perfect my stats giving me a tank as well as beating the optional bosses.

As for other games, I choose to play Silent Hill 2 because of the whole atmosphere around it, the dark mystery that engulfed Silent Hill. I intend to eventually complete the whole series but currently I am in no rush. I played God of War for the story but it was kind of pale, not much depth involved but its pretty fun to play. Right now though I am going through Kingdom Hearts which is pretty much the same reason behind the FF games.

I have to admit, I like to play games for the sense of accomplishment, even if i'm just competing against the cpu. But also, I enjoy them for the gameplay, such as the battles in an RPG, finding secret stuff, eyc, in an action or FPS game, things like that.

I'll admit that as i get older, my tastes have remained the same--mostly RPG's, but before rpg's, I generally tried every kind of game there was for a particlar system, becase it was easy to get them all (Most were arcade conversions of popular games at the time, Asteroids, Joust, etc..). Try that now with PSX or PS2????

Enjoyment is certainly the main factor, I'll go out and on whim's buy games I feel i'll enjoy. I mean it, I own so many differet varities of games, and that's because of simple enjoyment, that I get from them. And That's the main factor, also im a sucker for sequels sadly .

Graphics are minimal to me, if it doesn't look awesome as long as the game works fine I'm satisfied. Gameplay imo is so much more important than graphics, I own many not to great graphical works but the gameplay is fantastic on them, and i enjoy them. I feel self enjoyment should be the most, important factor in any game bought.

Story and gameplay and the enjoyment of the game all at once make the perfect game. Graphics are just a plus if they happen to be good.

i pretty much play for some enjoyment. That and the gameplay and storyline. Some games i even play cuz It is a continuim of another game. if it has a bad story, i ain't touching it though. I really don't care for graphics much Unless they are REALLY cheesy. Thats when they start bugging me -_- Other than that, the gameplay is what catches me the most.

I play a mostly for the story and then for game play. If its a game thats really not suppose to have a story then i'd go for gameplay. Graphics are also important in a game but no where near as important as how much fun the gameplay is or how good the story is.

When I was younger and had a lot of free time, I would play RPGs and strategy games for depth and story. If I ever have nothing to do, Ill sit down and boot up an older RPG and do that. But nowadays, I only really play for a couple minutes when I get home from class, so I play something simple, and to the point, like a sports or an action game, so that would be for gameplay.

I would have to say action, story line, funness. I can usually tell if a game sucks just by the opening movie. A gme with a great deep story line is also a great element that I look for!

Well it depends, rpg's I always play for story and most others are for gameplay, cause I can't say RE4 is too in depth, though the game play is flawless!

I play RPG's for the story and the change of worlds. It's like ready a book, it takes you some place different.

I play racing games for because they're fun and for graphics. I'm not a fan of ricer games, I don't care how big my wheels are nor do I want to buy neon for my civic to progress. I wanna hop in an f40 and race other classic cars and just go all out on a track.

And of course I play all video games because they're fun, and only that.
